2.3L Ecoboost Convertible, Premium. Passenger seat heat was not working. Wiring harnesses on seat control module were "clean". Noted GU5T-... seat control module installed. Checked Ford OEM parts for the VIN, it listed the updated module BU5Z14C724A. So far, new module is allowing passenger seat heat to work.
This. Unless Ford replaces the Escape HEV/PHEV with something just as good, then Ford no longer sells an efficient and practical vehicle for me. I don't give a rip about the Escape being boring, it meets my needs perfectly.
There was a supposed document showing a next gen mach-e coming in 26/27 with two body styles, the normal mach-e, and a "coupe". Maybe the coupe is the fastback style mach-e we know today, and then there's a mach-e with a more upright roofline to increase practicality.
I could see that stealing away some edge customers if it offered comparable interior space. If the next gen mach-e rides on CE1, it could also undercut the current mach-e/edge quite a bit in terms of price. We'll see if that ends up happening.
Recipe for disaster, IMO. They should keep them parallel for another generation, IMO.
Mind you, we're also looking at probably a year gap between Escape and whatever this new products are. Plus, hopefully Lincoln is involved in these plans, otherwise it's about to lose 1/4 of its lineup, and higher percentage of sales.
I believe this is the same theory as remove Edge so Mach E gets more sales. So in that theory,
Ford will remove Escape and its hybrid in hopes that increases interest in CE1 pickup and Utility.
