  1. Ford's statement from yesterday raises more questions than answers. In particular, have the regional controls been lifted from all Super Duty's or only Chassis Cab orders? Hopefully, there will be a revised statement soon with some clarification.

Got my call today that it arrived at the dealer(along with about 50 others) 2022 Super Duty F-250 Limited Crew Cab 4X4: SRW 6.7L Power Stroke® V8 Turbo Diesel Engine Carbonized Gray Metallic 10/9/2021- Order Confirmed -email from Ford 10/28/2021- Scheduled for Production week of 11/29/2020 - email from Ford 11/16/2021 - Dealer tells me it's an 11/24/2021 build date 11/25/2021 - Production date change to week of 11/22/2021 - email from Ford 12/8/2021 - On Hold in Kentucky for microchips - email from dealer 12/18/2021 - Your vehicle has been built, delivery to dealer between 1/3/2022 and 1/9/2022 - email from Ford 12/20/2021 - Your vehicle is on it's way and has shipped, delivery to dealer between 1/3/2022 and 1/9/2022 1/10/2022 - - I checked the trucking company and said it was delivered to the dealer. 1/11/2022 - email and calls from the dealer confirming arrival. About 3 months order to delivery at the dealer - pretty good! Trying to figure out all the offers from Ford PCO's, Exclusive cash rewards and and Farm Bureau - what fun!!

  8. I ordered a 7.3L F350 Lariat, Ultimate, on 11/12. I received email confirmation but that is all. My dealer says that he has not heard anything or received VIN or VVR. I ordered with the 5th wheel prep package. That is the only thing that I have seen on this thread that might be causing the hold up. Has anyone that ordered the 5th wheel prep on a later order date than 11/12, received a build date?

  10. My dealer tells me I have a build date of Jan 27th. I typed my VIN number into the Mach-E order tracking tool. My Vin shows up as a 1908 Model T that was had a final delivery date of 1908-10-01. I take it the Mach-E tracking tool no longer works for Canadian orders?

  11. That’s exactly why they enacted COVP - to keep the larger dealers from hogging allocation and allowing smaller dealer special orders to get built faster. As for “hold up items” they’re only publishing the big ones. On any given week any part might get shorted. Zaxbys ran out of boneless wings one day. Shit happens. A lot these days. All it takes is one missing truck driver. Maybe Ford is favoring higher trims when parts are limited, maybe not. Either way the delay is because of a parts shortage. And there is no way that two trucks you randomly see on the internet are EXACTLY the same given all the different parts, options and color combinations. It doesn’t mean there is a conspiracy just because you’re frustrated.

  12. My complete alignment is and always will be with the freedom of choice, with no judgement on my part, of anyone's choice. This is a long post again, but I believe there are many questions within our CDC & FDA standards and rulings that most may not be aware of that can and most likely will hopefully be brought to some point in the discussions on the Federal Government's leveling of any vaccine mandates. It is unclear whether COVID-19 vaccines can be mandated while operating under an EUA, and courts have not yet ruled on this issue. The federal government’s authority to institute a general vaccine mandate is unclear, and has not yet been tested in the courts, though it is likely limited at best. The Commerce Clause of the U.S. Constitution gives Congress the power to regulate commerce between states as well as with foreign countries. Drawing on this authority, the Public Health Service Act (PHSA) authorizes the HHS Secretary to adopt quarantine and isolation measures to prevent the spread of communicable disease among states but does not specifically mention federal vaccine mandates. Read broadly, the PHSA might allow the federal government to mandate vaccines to prevent the transmission of infectious disease between states or from foreign countries, though such measures have not been adopted – or reviewed by courts – to date. It is clear that the federal government does have authority to mandate vaccines for members of the military, and those targeted mandates have been upheld by courts. In addition, federal law mandates certain vaccinations for immigrants seeking to enter the U.S. General vaccine mandates, however, are generally within the purview of state and local governments, as explained below, with the federal government playing a supporting role. For example, the increase in the number of states requiring vaccination to attend school is attributed to “urg[ing]” from the CDC after measles outbreaks in the 1960s. Otherwise, the federal government’s public health efforts have been largely focused on quarantine and isolation, rather than vaccine mandates. Current state vaccination laws for adults are focused on health care workers and patients in health care facilities, rather than the general population. State vaccination mandates for health care workers vary but generally include the requirement to offer certain vaccines, and in some cases document employee vaccination status (subject to exemptions described below). For example, 18 states require flu vaccine to be offered to hospital staff and/or require hospitals to report the status of employee vaccination to the state, and 15 states have measles, mumps, and rubella vaccination laws for hospital health care workers. How does the FDA emergency use authorization affect COVID-19 vaccine mandates? It is unclear whether COVID-19 vaccination could be legally mandated while the FDA’s EUA is in place. Current mandates apply to vaccines that have been fully approved by the FDA. By contrast, COVIBD-19 vaccines have been authorized under the FDA’s temporary emergency use authority. The EUA statute provides that individuals must be informed “of the option to accept or refuse administration of the product, of the consequences", if any, of refusing administration of the product, and of the alternatives to the product that are available and of their benefits and risks.” Some commentators have interpreted this provision to mean that individuals cannot be required to receive a vaccine that is subject to an EUA. Others have questioned whether the reference to “consequences” of refusing a vaccine subject to an EUA includes not only potential health consequences but also other adverse outcomes such as loss of employment. The legislative history does not contain any references to mandates for vaccines under EUA. The EUA law was created after the September 11th terrorist attacks, and to date, courts have not interpreted this provision. In addition to the legal uncertainty, some commentators have raised ethical questions about mandating a vaccine that is subject to EUA. The EUA authority requires less evidence of safety and efficacy compared to full FDA approval (usually based on the duration of safety and efficacy data available). Specifically, an EUA is permitted during a public health emergency, if the FDA determines that it is reasonable to believe the vaccine “may treat or prevent the disease, the known and potential benefits outweigh the known and potential risks, and no approved adequate available alternative exists" (emphasis added). By contrast, full FDA approval involves a finding that the vaccine is safe, effective, and pure. For COVID-19 vaccines, the FDA has set a high standard for determining whether to grant an EUA, including requiring data from at least one Phase 3 clinical trial that demonstrates the vaccine’s safety and efficacy “in a clear and compelling manner” and setting minimum efficacy and safety requirements. At least one vaccine manufacturer has indicated that it now has enough safety and efficacy data to submit an application for full approval to the FDA. But any "high standard" as mentioned set by the FDA is in full question, the statement along uses the term "high standard" but gives no discussion or data to put this vaccine as surpassing any standard levels of evaluation by the FDA. Which is key to the question of, does this "high or standard level of evaluation" make for a Federal Government Mandate, to be legal?

Returned thar Covercraft sent me a new one and it was just as bad as a fitment, and now 3 months later I still have not received a piece that fits ..

  14. With respect to first in, first out. If Ford stuck to this adage, with current commodity shortages and shipping delays, the production line would be starting and stopping continuously. When my order was next up at my dealer, they had no DRW boxes or 19.5" wheels, so they couldn't built my truck. If Ford stuck to your first in, first out model, the production line would have shut down waiting for the components for my truck, when it was due to be next out. As the moderators have explained many times, dealers receive additional allocations for "Retail Orders" submitted under the COVP. If the dealer had a retail order (green WS) sitting on the lot, it must have been refused by the customer that ordered it. As a retail order, it was an addition to the dealer's allocations. With the number of options and trim levels available, I highly doubt that other than being a F-450 that it was the exact same truck as mine. Ford buils 7K to 8K SD's a week and a suspect that very few of them are exactly identical. My dealer was totally up front with the potential for delays, advising a wait of at least 5 to 6 months. I knew about the wait when I ordered and while I had hoped for sooner, realistically I expected the truck to arrive Feb to April 2022. Just waiting patiently, as life is way too short to be upset over waiting for a new truck.

  15. The wait is finally over! I put in my order 6/12 and gave the dealer $1,000 deposit. The order was turned in 6/14 and I got email confirmation within a day or two. Finally in Oct I got a scheduled email, with a VIN a few days later. After several scheduled "to the week" and "to the day" changes, it was finally built 12/20. I had a PCO for $3,500 that expired 1/3, and sure enough my truck delivered to the dealership today - 8 days too late for the PCO. And, of course, now I've either got a cold or the 'rona and can't go pick it up. So, pictures will be forthcoming. Hang in there, boys.   16. COVP is not causing those issues. EVERY customer order should be COVP. Yes, there are many stupid dealers who don’t understand or just don’t want to bother with the process. Ice-capades has shown what has to be done. It literally takes 2 minutes to put in a customer’s email address and fill out the form. No excuse for not doing it. COVP doesn’t dictate build order. That is dictated STRICTLY by priority. A non COVP priority 10 will always get built before a COVP priority 11 assuming there are enough parts for both. What COVP does is if the dealer has 2 COVP orders but no normal allocation, Ford gives the dealer 2 more allocations so the COVP orders can be built. Yes there are technical issues with notifications but the systems were working pretty well before the parts shortages and it seems to have affected super duties more than others. If Ford was able to build trucks in 6-8 weeks like normal it would probably work fine. But yes Ford dropped the ball here.

  17. Sequoia production will be moved from TMMI to TMMTX later this year. Land Cruiser production remains at Aichi (Yoshiwara plant) with the new J300 generation. This generation Land Cruiser will not be offered in the U.S. market.

  18. Your entire rant is based on the normal dealer allocation process. But that’s out the window with COVP. If a small dealer has 5 verified orders they get 5 allocations. This is strictly a parts issue at this point unless your dealer is playing games with your priority.

  20. This is likely due to resale. Not too many folks are going to want a 2wd truck. I see how many you've had and it looks like you will be trading it at some point. Same thing they said to me when I was thinking of buying a RCLB dually. In saying all that, here north of the 49th, my daily is a 4x4 half ton and I always drive in 2wd and only need 4wd when I'm lazy and don't want to plow the driveway first. Junk the OE tires for something better and it will be fine.

  25. In normal times, sure, the system works. But when we are in this "unprecedented time", the system is flawed, and the policies and procedures that Ford has in place creates a uneven playing field. What the majority of us were told back in June/July when we first placed our orders isn't remotely close to whats been played out. Here's the thing, I am just some guy that needs truck, in fact I've needed a truck for months. I am also a person that's been a Ford guy since before I received my DL. So what do I do, I go to the smallest dealership in our new area, ones I prefer, and place my order for the model and options I want, give them a deposit and walk away. As a customer I couldn't tell you how many trucks they've already sold, how many allocations they've used, or what a priority code is. I just order a truck and expect it to be delivered in the time frame they told me. Completely agree, the commodity shortages are real and impacting the industry, there's no doubt about that. But the fact that Ford is still fulfilling orders based on a system that clearly only works during normal times is what most are upset about, myself included. Most ordering systems today operate on the "first in, first out" model, in fact I'd venture to say every single on line order we make day to day is that way, and if something is back ordered it's most likely "first in, first out" when the inventory supply is available. And to be completely honest, it's the system we are all accustomed to, even during these "unprecedented times". But instead, imagine if when you placed an amazon order you order doesn't go though when the item was in sock, because you only spend a $100 a year with them. When your friend next door ordered the exact same thing and got his the next day because he spends $1000 a year with them. How long do you think that business model would last? Would you be happy seeing your neighbor using their new special tool, when you need it just as much, if not more, and ordered it month earlier? The exact thing is happening now with our Ford orders. My order is a 450 as well, and I recently stopped in at a dealership that had a "retail order" PL (with AS, 5th wheel prep, spray in liner) sitting on their lot. So the allocation game worked well for them, and now they're selling a $95.5K truck for "well over MSRP" because they can, and the policies and procedures are in place for them to do so. All the while you and I wait for the exact same truck that's nowhere closer to being built today than it was on the day we wrote our deposit checks. Do you honestly think, we as the customers and end user of the Ford product should've needed to put into account what our dealerships allocations and allotments are? When I selected our dealership, it was based on their treatment of me and the time they took to answer questions and establish a respectful working relationship, NOT a forensic audit of their financial balance sheet, awarded allotments and allocations. This was Ford's second chance with me after a major issue with a brand new special order 2011 F-350. When the dealership opens this morning I am calling to cancel my order with them. I am also not naive to think this action will result in any change, Ford doesn't even know I exist and could care less if I drive home in their truck or not, they've made that abundantly clear these past several months. Today's executives at Ford only care about one thing, and that's making sure the Shareholders are happy, which in turn means the Board of Directors are happy, which in turn means they"ll all get their annual bonuses. The days of Ford executives caring about their vehicle owners is long gone, that was made clear to me in 2010 and yet again today. I honestly wish everyone the best of luck with their unfulfilled orders, and I absolutely wish no ill will towards anyone who might read this that's associated with Ford.

  26. I suggest reading through the topics and you will get an understanding of the system. I have been waiting since August and certainly don't believe the system is flawed. In addition to commodity issues, we also have to consider how many SD's the dealer has in the Unscheduled Order Bank. Those that get a quick build probably have a basic truck and ordered from a dealer with few, if any orders ahead of them. In my case, my dealer had about a number of SD's ahead of mine until mid November. Since then multiple commodity issues have prevented mine from getting scheduled, so more basic SD's ordered after mine at the same dealer have received VIN's. Thems the breaks when you order a F-450.

  27. Interesting - just received an email that says: “To ensure your complete satisfaction, we will require additional time before your 2022 Super Duty F250 Lariat is delivered to Beach Ford”. The original estimated delivery date was 01/07, now 01/14 - 01/20. Trying to figure out how another delay ensures my complete satisfaction ???.

  28. The system isn’t flawed. Supply chain sucks right now for everybody in every industry. Your truck can’t be built because of parts shortages (assuming your dealer doesn’t have a bunch of trucks ahead of you

  30. It took me 3 months to get a VIN, but you will find that many have been waiting much longer to receive theirs, and others not so long....so many variables in place to list. F350 DRW Lariat FX4. Congrats on the order and welcome to the waiting game....

  32. As much as I wish I could have a 2WD truck, I unfortunately have to be at work either sun, rain, snow, hurricane, flood, whatever. I don't put it in 4WD unless I absolutely need it, I hate the people who drive around in full speed in crappy weather with no regard to the road conditions "just because they have 4WD." It's certainly not an invincibility mod like most people seem to think it is. If you can't drive well in 2WD then 4WD doesn't magically make you a better driver haha.

  33. As @akirby stated, it's a routine process between the Dealers and Ford. Don't try to read more into it. The scheduling chart shows the production weeks that vehicles will be scheduled to be built.

  35. SUMMARY Please be advised that due to supply chain disruptions, we are forced to make an in-cycle film supplier change for 2 parts on the 22MY Ford Edge. The effective date for this in-cycle supplier change is Jan 6, 2022. All units produced prior to this date will feature the current film supplier. All units produced after this date will feature the new film supplier. The impacted parts are R044D84 (IP applique) and R044H83 (console top finish panel, with cupholder built in). No other parts are impacted by this film supplier change. This change may not be noticeable in isolation, however a side-by-side comparison of units produced before and after the effective date will make the change perceptible and obvious to the naked eye. The differences in color, pattern, and tactile sensation are modest. Every effort has been made to minimize the differences as much as possible. The appearance difference is not a result of off-quality parts or production errors. The new film supplier is subject to all the same quality standards as the current film supplier. The appearance difference is purely the result of our need to execute an in-cycle film supplier change to sustain production of the 22MY Ford Edge.

  36. I can't help you on carpet color, but I received my 3D Maxpider mats today. I really like the fit and looks of them. Bought from Autoanything . The only thing is that if you are in a climate with snow, there is not as good of protection higher up along the accelerator as the Weathertech. If you don't have snow to deal with they are worth considering.

  38. That tells me that it's not that Fusion couldn't be profitable, but just not meeting the arbitrary 10% number or whatever it was Hackett wanted. I get the "other segments are more profitable" argument, but still. Who knows, maybe longer term, higher profits from other products will let them reinvest in other profitable but "less" profitable products/segments.

  39. I think it's great that GM is finally coming out with an EV Equinox. Back a couple years ago I had a brand new Equinox rental, and liked it except having to gas up every 300 miles. My Escape hybrid goes 600+ miles between fill ups. And Escape plug in can do most everyday driving in EV mode only and get more than 600 miles on tank of gas. And gas stations on every major corner. So about time GM electrified its Equinox. The ICE Equinox must have small gas tank. I seemed to be getting 30mpg, but below a quarter tank after 300 miles. Pain in the ass.

  40. Agree 100% - Bolt is good but not great product but the bottom line is the market in the US didn't ask for a tall hatchback EV. It would like if Ford made another C-Max instead of Mach E... I think we can all agree that Mach E turned out much better than what Ford started with. The preview of upcoming Equinox looks pretty compelling for the same price as Bolt.

  41. How about Barra having an answer for the Ford Bronco, BS, Maverick, and all Ford's hybrid and plugin models that arguably fit more consumer needs. I don't think the Chevy Trailblazer was a good answer. And $100,000 Hummer is a distraction at best. GM makes all their money on huge SUVs that are a hard sell with $4 gas. All the above is vaporware as of now. And no Equinox, Blazer, Silverado hybrids like Ford and Toyota.

  43. Ordered June 9th picked up October 2. Lariat ultimate 7.3L black appearance. Had 560 miles on it before hooked to camper went to Colorado, Utah, Arizona back to Kansas. Sitting at 3700 miles now.

  45. Picked up our Stone Gray F450 Lariat CC today! Upgraded from a 2013 F250 SC with a long bed (which we aren't getting rid of because my husband loves that truck....low mileage and never seen winter). It's so nice having a crew cab so car seats fit and I'm not on top of the dashboard....luxury!

  48. One problem was that the rear lower control arms on the LS were not able to handle higher HP loads. When the SC S type came out, there was a small change to the size of the control arm. As Ford and Jag never really talked about what they were usings, Ford never put this different arm in the LS. It was a small change, but It really showed that there was no communcation betwwen the too. Also on the upper arms, there was several small component changes that Jag had that was better. We produced all of the arms for DEW, and may times Jag would spend a lot of money doing test to make a change, and then Ford would spend twice the amount doing the same test. Also Aston Martin still uses the Front upper arms. At one time we were producing someting like 5 different combs of the Upper arms.
