robertlane
Richard sent me an e-mail about this today - I've been on the road for two days and wasn't aware of this saddening news. I just convesred with Nick a few days ago about him coming to Dearborn for a Lincoln event. Whatever the community decides to do, BOF is all in. FiredMotorCompany
I am at a loss for words that can express my shock and sadness. I will always consider Nick a good friend with whom I debated and discussed many things. But, he was always fair. And he will be missed by thousands here, to say nothing of his personal friends and family. R.I.P, Nick.

jpd80
I contacted FordJellymoulds (Oldsmobile Stopped on GMI) and he was gutted that Nick had passed, I sensed that there was a little unfinished business there.. Thanks for that JPD, gotta say l am gutted JDP!! l used to enjoy a bit of banter with Nick. He used to reply to everyone of my posts on Tina's once tried to see how long l could carry on with a thread l just gave up in the end, he always had to have the last say.Last private message l had with Nick was about him putting a permanent ban on me until l removed my Escort video from the footer, he said l could come back as long as l could removed video, so l guess l will never be able come back now, might have try again. How old was Nick? he did not sound very old JPD sounded like he was in his mid-30s. AlRozzi
Moments likes this really cause us to stop and reassess life and ask ourselves why we become so entirely consumed by a seemingly senseless daily regimen of "priorities" we place upon ourselves. Life is truly meant to be shared and experienced among family and friends because it is within that community of compassion where we will find contentment and joy while at the same time we serve to mitigate the commonality of the sorrows we experience throughout a lifetime of living. Thankfully Nick has had some good friends here and was a part of a wonderful family as well. Edited July 19, 2014 by AlRozzi
ANTAUS
Just I'm reading this, the past 2 weeks I've been in Miami cause my father is dying from cancer, so it just makes you pause for awhile and see sometimes we get caught up in the same daily routine and we forget to to appreciate what we have. And even if it's just a "chat' personality that we have spoken with for years, its just a staple of our community and we forget what important and need to tone it back into what we really are, which is humans trying tto interact positively with one another on a chat board.
Extreme4x4
Oh my goodness............... I am floored..................... and so sad. I have been a member here for a long time. As far back as I can remember, Nick was here. He was the voice of reason in so many threads, and I can't believe he is gone. The family has to be devastated. My heart, and my prayers go out to Nicks family and friends. We will honor him in our posts, our threads, and our thoughts of all things automotive. We lost a brother in heart, and somehow, the world is not quite the same. I can't even imagine reading threads without him in them. Sorry I haven't been around much, but the site isn't working well with Explorer 8, and I don't work well with Google Chrome. I am in on the fund thing. Just let us know. Geez, you get to know people over the years of posting and reading about subjects that are part of your hobby, and part of your life. Much like your own family, you always take it for granted that they will just always be there. Then they are not. Sorry to read that. My step-mother of almost 25 years succumbed to cancer last month. Being there for my father getting things organized was emotionally draining enough. My thoughts to you and yours. Bored of Pisteon
I'm just stunned to hear this news, I was here to post a eulogy for James Garner, but to hear this makes it twice as sad. Going back to the mlhm5 thread, Nick replied that "The Rockford Files" theme song was one of his favorites. God speed Nick, say hello to Mr. Rockford for me.
Bored of Pisteon
Even going back to that remarkable mlhm5 thread, I posted a picture of "Otto" the inflatable auto-pilot from AIRPLANE! Nick replied..."New avatar time!" Great sense of humor, and wit. God bless.

Thoughts and prayers with you and your family in this difficult time. My wife went through the same thing with her father years back (he was only 54). It is definitely a trying time. old_fairmont_wagon
Wow, while I don't post here enough to be as close to you all as some are, I do come here several times a week to see what's going on and have enjoyed Nick's posts tremendously. It saddens me to see someone that we all hold dear pass away at such a young age, especially someone that was as important to a community of people as Nick was to us all here. Nick, you and your family and friends are in my thoughts and prayers as they go through this time of transition in their lives. I hope that you've found that beautiful winding road, that perfect roaring V8 and ragtop, and all the time in the universe to enjoy it. I also pray for us all. His loss is all our loss. Antaus, my heart goes out to you. I lost my father to cancer just a few months ago. I'm praying for you and your family as well during this trying time for you all. I encourage you to seek closure with your father while you still have the chance as I know that it's helped me move forward from my loss. I'm not going to lie, it hurts like hell to have lost mine, but each day, you find a little more strength to be able to deal with it. Make sure the ones that are closest to you know how you feel about them. We are never promised tomorrow.
chevys
My Father who is till alive wants to buy a new car for him to put around town in. Instead of me being they typical opinionated asshole I said lets got look and drive them all. Those that want let us drive them can go to hell. We blew a day looking and kicking tires. My vote is for Mazda CX5 and he likes the RAV4. Doesnt matter to me becasue Im not paying for it. I was able to spend time with him and that is what is important. Stubborn as hell and set in his ways. I think Nick would appreciate that sort of story. Nick would also have an opinion on this sort of class of vehicle that I miss.
