ice-capades
Ford Will Reveal Something at the 2024 NY Auto Show https://fordauthority.com/2024/03/ford-will-reveal-something-new-at-the-2024-ny-auto-show/ Though auto shows, in general, aren’t quite what they used to be as attendance dwindles and many brands have pulled out of them altogether, there are still quite a few good reasons to attend some of the more major events of that type. Aside from checking out the latest vehicles in person, automakers still reveal new products at auto shows from time to time, and that includes Ford. With the 2024 New York Auto Show set to take place later this month, it seems as if that will once again be the case, as Ford has a press conference scheduled for this annual event, too. It’s unclear what this potential new vehicle reveal may be, but we can make a few educated guesses, at least. The Blue Oval has a handful of refreshed models in the pipeline that are likely slated to debut very soon, a list that starts with the 2025 Ford Expedition. Ford Authority first spotted a refreshed Expedition prototype out testing almost a year ago, and it’s expected to receive a handful of notable updates in terms of exterior and interior styling, plus the potential addition of a hybrid powertrain. Then there’s the upcoming 2025 Ford Maverick refresh, which will also likely usher in some exterior styling updates, as well as the addition of a larger 13.2-inch Sync 4 touchscreen, as Ford Authority reported just last week. It’s possible that the 2025 Maverick lineup may add a “street performance” model, too. The Maverick’s platform-mate – the Ford Bronco Sport – is also slated to receive a refresh for the 2025 model year, one that will bring forth the same type of styling and interior updates, as well as the potential addition of a more capable off-road variant. Of course, given the fact that the Ford Mustang was unveiled at the 1964 New York Auto Show, it’s also possible that FoMoCo has something special planned for its pony car, given the fact that this happened six decades ago. In any case, Ford Authority will be on hand to report on Ford’s surprise for the 2024 New York Auto Show, no matter what it might be. pffan1990
Who knows what it is, but could it simply be the start of the Mustang's 60th anniversary celebration? Going to the Visit tab and selecting Daily Schedule in its drop-down menu brings the schedule of the public show. You'll see Ford Mustang's 60th Anniversary Exhibit that will be held at Level 1. Clicking on that takes you to the page about the Mustang's 60th anniversary where many vehicles over the decades will be parked there for viewing as part of the anniversary celebration. Seems odd that they would do this if they wouldn't reveal some kind of 60th anniversary edition model or some other surprises at the show prior to the public viewing of the old Mustangs. Logically, April 17th standalone event would have made sense for 60th anniversary model reveal. Maybe it's start of the celebration to build hype until April 17th which is on Wednesday. https://www.autoshowny.com/events-calendar/ https://autoshowny.com/exhibitions/8009/

We did see that test mule with the center mounted exhaust, so it's not a GTD, testing months ago. So they could reveal whatever that is. I would personally love to see Mustang used to introduce a new inline 6-cylinder about the same displacement as the Mustang’s 200 cubic-inch six. Wishful thinking on my part. 😆

Bob Rosadini
You guys don't get it. Ford Pro is where it is at now- that is the big money maker. And while they did not reveal anything at the Work Truck Show-which is where anything big in commercial vehicles is usually announced, Mr Cannis and his team of truck professionals will be announcing new color choices for the Transit at New York. While Ram and GM have announced new organizations similar to Ford Pro they have a lot of catching up to do if they are going to catch Ford's team. Not sure where I saw it, but a clip of the Ford Pro line up....an array of about seven Transits, and one F-150- all white of course. Super Duty 250-750??? Nah!
mackinaw
1 hour ago, Bob Rosadini said: You guys don't get it. Ford Pro is where it is at now- that is the big money maker..... Absolutely. From a recent Detroit News article: "Ford Pro alone increased its operating income to $7.2 billion in 2023 by 81% with a 12.4% operating margin, even with a slower Super Duty truck production ramp-up with a new quality check process and a United Auto Workers strike. It's forecasting $8 billion to $9 billion in 2024 and a mid-teens margin." “I remember a time when Fiat owned Ferrari, and I had a valuation of about $4 billion on it,” said Adam Jonas, analyst at investment bank Morgan Stanley, while posing a question to Ford CEO Jim Farley during a recent earnings call. “Now, Ferrari is worth $80 billion today, and the business was totally ignored by investors when it was part of Fiat. Now, Ford's Ferrari, it's called Ford Pro. And I think we agree, people are ignoring the cash cow.”
