you know I was just going to post this because I saw one on the road during a road trip. I was confused at first and then realized it must be a new grille insert. Pretty funny that nothing else has changed.
lately, Ford’s response has been
step 1 - cancel product
step 2 - announce future product that will be canceled before launch
step 3 - ???
step 4 - profit
Farley may be reading this now saying “hold my beer!”
Except Ranger shares its parts with the global model.
why would that kill your enthusiasm for it? That’d be the entire point of such a model…
Yeah, we’re just grasping at straws really, and Ford will likely change out the straws a few times by then anyway, in typical Ford fashion
aka, we have so many on dealer lots already that aren’t selling, we don’t need more for another year.
i would say that even if it had an ice powertrain, it would struggle to find buyers. They’re odd looking. I never understood the appeal of the buses
This what Ford actually put out
All new built Ford tough gas powered trucks (notice everything else is not plural also)
IMO that is really nebulous and a word salad to say something without actually saying it. Lets not forget Ford's other promises over the years with SUVs and other products that never made it to market.
I still don't see how Ford could make something more affordable then the Maverick unless they seriously limit the options, even if they applied the lessons from the CE1 program and not adversity affect the sales of the Maverick or Ranger. No do I really see a market for truck that is purely sold in the 20-30K range for cheap that can actually make a profit for Ford.
The price increases with the Maverick are in line with the rest of the market increases since it came out also.
Volkswagen of America's head honcho says it ain't a permanent buzzkill:
Volkswagen Group of America president and CEO Kjell Gruner confirmed the ID Buzz van is not canceled for America and will resume production sometime in 2026 for the 2027 model year. "The ID Buzz remains an important part of the Volkswagen portfolio,” Gruner said, “and I want to be clear: We are not canceling this product in the U.S. market. To optimize inventory, we’re leveraging 2025 models to support our dealers through mid-year, and we’re excited to welcome model year 2027 in 2026.”
I just used https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls to check the VIN for my '22 F-150 Lightning and my wife's '25 MME GT, and both vehicles are affected by this recall (25V863)!
Maybe it's time to head to the local BMV branch and get two new personalized Indiana blackout plates for our vehicles: RECALL22 and RECALL25. 🤣
The only way that is going to happen is if Hyundai somehow takes market share in the commercial markets with a full-sized truck and van
Chrysler has been just shit on as a company for the past 15-20 years.
