They didn't because they never had to.  But CE1 has shown them how to do it now and that's where Ford's growth will come so the future should yield exactly the changes you seem to want.  But by all means ignore that and just keep bitching about F150s.

Almost nobody parks an F150 in the garage regularly.  And businesses who buy F series certainly don't.   It has survived 70 years of recessions and high gas prices and still sells 900k/yr.   Toyota and VW would kill for a product like that.   Toyota yes.  VW not so much.   Now tell me how Toyota and VWs commercial business compares to Ford Pro.......

Especially if it sticks pretty much to that sketch. An affordable EV sedan that looked like that would be amazing. 

This might be a hot take, because we know a lot of diehard car enthusiasts hate anything that's an EV, but a mustang sedan that's based on CE1 and retails for like 30 grand is way more appealing in my personal opinion than a 50k sedan based on the s650.    I will say several of us on this site have hypothesized that the affordable EV sedan and mustang sedan could be the same thing, but has there been any additional info in recent weeks to add credibility to that idea?

Apparently Mazda is working with Toyota. Honda isn't in the best of shape as of late either. Maybe merge Honda and Nissan together? That would make the most sense since Nissan has BOF products that Honda doesn't.

Yeah a dinosaur that sells 800k units a year that apparently can't fit into garages or parking spots.   VW uses a Ford Truck and van design. Toyota wishes it could crack the full sized truck and fleet sales market in North America   In all seriousness, why even post this? You and others agendas are telegraphed before you post.    Support your views instead of ranting about your personal wants.   

1. Look at the shrinking size of garages and parking spaces and you'll realize that the F series is a dinosaur, but a profitable one (for now).   2. Toyota and VW can earn a profit on small cars, Ford doesn't know how.
