Maverick was based on the Transit Connect branch of C2, why would you change the existing efficient design. The answer is that you would just build a North American parts based Transit Connect or with a different name

Pretty much the only good news we have right now. With more and more individuals within the main Ford mother ship seeing the design, and prototypes running around, here's hoping we get a prototype or leaked photos in the near future. 

It reminds me of recent Hyundai designs. 

2026 Expedition -- Anyone have these problems?    1. FordPass App inoperative, and 2. Logging on via a web browser only shows old and incomplete data.    I bought this car brand new just under 3 months ago.  The car is wonderful, but the FordPass App quit working 6 or 7 weeks ago.  The App will not let me log in.  It says, "Please try again later. We are having technical issues. (-101)".  That is all the app has done for 6-7 weeks.    When I log in to my account via a web browser (not using the App), it only shows incomplete and outdated info.  For example, wiper fluid level no long shows on the web browser. The Security App info is also missing--the feature to lock/unlock and to inhibit the Expedition no long appears.  It is as though the car is not communicating any longer.  I deleted the SUV from my account and readded it via the web browser, but now no vehicle data shows up and the app still is inoperative.   I called Ford and spoke to two groups within Support: the software people and the folks that do tech support for the SUV itself.  All settings on the vehicle screen checked out just fine--and Ford reportedly can see the SUV on their system to include data.  The support folks "elevated" my problem, but all of the same problems continue to exist and no one from Ford has reached out to fix this.  I've already uninstalled and reinstalled the App, deleted the phone from the Expedition and reconnected it, rebooted the in-car screen, and deleted/readded the Expedition in my account via a web browser.  Nothing seems to correct any of the problems.   Has anyone encountered a similar issue, and if so how did you fix it?  This was an expensive vehicle; I'd like it to do what Ford promised when I bought it.  Like I said above, the car itself is wonderful and drives great.  The problem seems to be in their communications/modem and software areas.  Certainly it would help had they included a paper owner's manual with the car.  (don't ask about the accuracy of on-screen manual).   Any insights would be appreciated.   Bill

EV pickups don't have negativity, though they do of course have negative terminals for the battery. 😄   Construction of Scout Motors' assembly plant in South Carolina's Midlands region has been a boondoggle:   In February 2026, the South Carolina House Ways and Means Committee opted not to approve a request from the state Commerce Department for an additional $150 million to cover construction cost overruns at the Scout Motors site. This decision follows initial reports in late January 2026 that South Carolina was already $150 million over budget on the project, with officials seeking taxpayer funds to cover the deficit. 

I used one for a couple of weeks doing fiber internet installs on strike duty.  It was easy to access shelves and drawers from outside without crawling inside.

There's no real demand for large, expensive EVs, so I don't know why Farley would bother bring a three row EV here if that rumor ended up being true. There are times where I wonder what the point of CE1 even was.    Because Ford acts like it was meant to be the end all, be all for it's EVs. Yet they're also still trying to start all these partnerships using someone else's EV platform. VW, Renault, now this news of potential Chinese partnerships. Why not just use your own brand new, cost efficient, and flexible platform instead of trying to partner with everyone under the sun?   The only way this makes sense, is if Ford is dipping their toes in the water, minimizing future risk. Where to save money, they use someone else's platform to see if there's strong demand or not, and if there is, then they invest to develop future products for those segments using their own platform.    I believe this is the case with Renault for instance. They'll use Renault's platforms to offer something comparable to an electric fiesta and focus. If it flops, their exposure is limited, if it's a smash hit, then they invest to develop those products on ce1.    If that's the plan, it makes a lot of sense. If that's not the plan, I have no idea what they're doing. 

Agreed, sounds like it would have had the same packaging shortcomings of something like the Nissan titan based van with its massive hood. It was hard to say if it was maverick based, sharing some maverick body panels, or just c2 based with a lot of mechanical similarities with the maverick.    They showed it at a dealer meeting, and those individuals made it sound like it was the former. If that was the case, killing it in favor of CE1 van was the right play. 

I wonder if they are delaying the pickup so long due to the negativity that EV pickups have and not being able to sort the EREV setup

I just looked it up: Drawings of the Camaro was Spring of 2005, Clay model at the Detroit auto Show in January 2006   Production didn't start till February 2009 and went on sale in Summer 2009   Scout: Concepts in 2024, SUV production in September 2028, Truck in 2030   I think Scout is beating the Camaro for the most delayed release of a new product.   Just keep things fair: Bronco   Ford said it would come back out at the 2017 Detroit Auto show   Production model unveiled June 2020 (delayed by COVID)   First units in production March 2021
