Going back to this ticket thing - I wonder if additional reveals are happening 7/15 (almost here) and 8/27? FWIW, Borg's latest info for it: Details about the Skunktruck are due to start coming out in early August, including the name. The reveal is scheduled for January and reservations will begin immediately for the 2028 MY. I guess Ford is calling this a "Season of Reveals". I kinda suspected this was coming, their go-to-market strategy is to hype up each innovation independently to inform attitudes before the truck is fully revealed. Farley has mentioned it's a new form factor, not just a pickup. If they dumped it on the market in one confusing/boring burst of announcements, it might be rejected at face-value. The semi-mid gate has me interested more than anything. The mid-gate is built into the back seat and folds down to open up the passthrough. Smaller but simpler than the full midgate GM offers. The load floor under the rear seat is flatter than Mavericks, but not completely flat like F-150. It also has a fold flat front seat, a feature that comes and goes at Ford for some reason, but it will be very useful here.

I also think the lower window sill are going to sit below the belt line since they are camo'd in photos. -
Yeah IDK where they got that. The biggest discrepancy is probably the hood tbh. Its way steeper and based off the tarp photo has a bezeled leading edge.

Not sure if it'll look like that or not, but that's not that bad. The heavy wheel flare crease on the front wheels, and no crease on the rear wheel flare is strange.

Car & Driver used these renders from Avarvarii. Obviously not the real thing, but honestly looks like a decent composition of what we do know, although the hood is not nearly steep enough or bezeled

Like Father Mulcahy, l love a little jocularity. It’s a good thing and makes a forum more fun.

The second one reminds me of a minivan with stow and go seating. Wonder how floor storage works on an EV when the battery is in the floor?

Floor storage was a thing for a long time on RAM trucks, not sure if it still is. Every time I see new and/or weird patent applications, I think about what a buddy said once. He did R&D and product development for a large (for the industry) paintball company. There were tons of patents they'd file knowing fully they were never going to produce the item, or not any time soon. Sometimes they were patenting it for future use. More often it was so a competitor couldn't snag the idea and build it without coming up with the full idea themselves. Rarely, it was so that NOBODY could make it because it was dangerous or stupid. On top of all those things, there were a few things he came up with that he patented with an open-source license because they were important safety improvements, and he wanted everyone in the industry to be able to use them free of license fees.

Obviously the more "idea" based ones you can't look at the design too much (like the Explorer one or this Mustang one), but still interesting to see a potential direction or hint for various future products.
