I think the significant thing is the NA Transit and the EU Transit will go their separate ways, and I will wager the NA Transit will be a larger commercial oriented van. This will probably spell the end of the E-Series.
Chassis-cab production will continue at Avon Lake too, at least the Super Duty 250-600 models.
Yea, it's definitely a misbuild for an Explorer ST to have 4WD logo on the liftgate. The Ford dealership nearest to me in Martinsville, IN has a '26 Explorer ST 4WD on their lot, and it has an ST logo on the liftgate as it should:
I'll add the low swooping hood almost makes it look like top of the grille lines up more or less with the top of the wheel arches more or less, a much lower front end than a conventional maverick. I've marked the photos below so you can see things like what I believe is the shape of a wheel arch, and character like on the covered design, and how the leading edge of the grille in the clay model seems to line up with the peak of the fender flare more or less.
So just trying to piece together the design to the best of our knowledge using press material so far. We know that close up is the front of the truck now, with a sealed grill, and an angled hood. Many of us also believe this clay model is the truck, so it gives us a better idea of the overall proportions. I also believe this fender is the truck, or at least, very similar to what the truck will have. It has that horizontal hood look closer to the windshield that we know the truck has, because the reaction vid shows us that portion of the hood isn't that angled, but then also swoops down near the leading edge like we can see in the close up.
Borg is claiming the sub 40k car is the mustang sedan. So I wonder if the sedan is gonna be this affordable EV sedan after all, or if the mustang sedan will co-exist with another affordable EV rwd sedan that goes by a different name like escort, falcon, or Galaxie.
Yes, they certainly did.
MSRP 2025 - $56,770, 2026 - $56,905
Sun/Sound Pkg, 2025 - $2,995, 2026 - $3,340
In addition to the decontenting previously discussed, not only did they remove the opening sun roof they raised the price of the package with its fixed glass. I also noticed they removed the bin cover in the center console, the small tray in the armrest, and the ST specific key fobs, that were available on the 2025 model.
Then there’s this little doozy.
The dealer delivered the car to us and we did the paperwork at my house. I didn’t notice until the next day. I called the dealer and initially they thought it was the way they came now, but after looking at their other STs on the lot they had a few that had the ST emblem and some with the a 4x4, which is disappointing for Ford’s quality control. Ultimately it is a misbuild.
To answer your 2nd question, I was recommending an Aviator, Audi Q8, LR Defender 130, and RR Sport.
She didn’t want the Aviator, which I did, because she thinks they still present an old person image. Ironically we aren’t spring chickens, lol. She was meh on the Q8. She didn’t go with the Defender or the Sport, because the dealer was too far away, but the Sport was also a little too expensive.
Frankly there isn’t anything particularly exciting out there right now, which is why this will be a stop gap message. She put a deposit on the Scout Traveler with the range extender, which is probably the most interesting thing coming out in the near future.
