You still have to redo complete electrical assemblies to remove all the different control modules that would be handled by a single computer in say the current C1 platform or other current platform. It might be worth it in say the F-series, not so much in a smaller/less profitable product. The point I'm making is at that point, is it worth it to spend it on an existing platform when you have something that could replace it already and have that already done along with engineering to make physical assembly easier/cheaper. But we don't have that cost analysis readily available either. -

Definitely some ram similarities with the fenders and hood, as well as the creases Man I hope so. It could be a mach-e situation where the mach-e looks frumpy in some vids and pics, but you see it in person and it looks great. I really want to like this thing, and hope they nail the styling and other aspects of it. I just have some concerns with what's been presented thus far. -
You don't spend millions. You take what ce1 already developed and apply it. And yes that means something like visteon.

Until I can get 350 miles of range anywhere in the country in 15 minutes guaranteed I'm not interested as a family vehicle for trips. At my age convenience is more important and I don't care what gas cost. I would gladly buy an EV for local driving.

If you are looking/hoping for that sporty Mustang vibe, then I think you may be disappointed. Ford appears to be pursuing the more conventional (Maverick like) truck styling with aerodynamic tweaking.

The low headlights will take some getting used to. On most trucks, the top of the headlights seem to be in line with the bottom of the windows, but in these new shots, it looks like 6-10” lower.

That's why it seems like EVERY fuel oil truck around here in New England is a Pete/KW! Like the original Henry Ford said back in the early 1900's, he'd give every car away free if he could be guaranteed ALL the aftermarket/replacement parts biz!

It is essentially that. This is basically a Maverick EV because frankly Ford needs to make sure their home (Trucks) is in order before they go chase back other segments. The Maverick also showed these compact trucks are a way to win back sedan/crossover customers with something they’re better at. I think it will work. I really like it personally. I think the camo might be throwing you off. They did it well.

Yeah I just saw that. My buddy picked me up in his BMW and when I closed the door, my hands got all black and sticky! I told him and he just sloughed it off. When I got home I searched it and lo and behold it is a problem with certain BMW's. The heat melts the plastic interior grab handle!

I did have a thought, maybe the front end is kinda like the old Ram? where the front fenders are lower then hood?
