Those are the same project codes as present vehicles, the advisory uses them as placeholders because Ford hasn’t released future project codes yet I got duped by similar schedules back in 2016, the actual products were markedly different to what was in those old schedules

This does make a lot of sense to contribute to the affordability aspect.

My wife has a Maverick. My MIL has a BS. The BS does not have a 2.5l hybrid (or any hybrid). The Maverick does not have a 1.5l 3 cylinder. The Maverick is 27” longer, and has a 16” longer wheelbase. The interior of the BS is more upscale.

What about the Mondeo/Mondeo sport and the Nautilus? Ford is going to need a 76 in wide CD class product for larger vehicles like that. -

Well here lies the rub- The Edge was 188.8 long and 76 wide The Escape is 181 long and 74 inches wide The Bronco Sport is 175 long and 74 inches wide. The Nautilus is 193 long and 76 inches wide Not sure what a longer C CUV would bring to the market-they need a slightly wider product to meet the mid sized market. Its far easier to make a longer product then it is to make a wider one, which normally involves a completely new platform. The only upside to using the Maverick is that it most likely hits cost points better (manufacturing) and is already integrated with an hybrid setup. I'm sure marketing will help out with whatever else they are planning on doing. -
What, “Mid sized” isn’t specific enough? Its not like Ford has ever deliberately been opaque/misleading about what that term means.

Edge has been a sales flop in China and I think Chang'an Ford for domestic China sales is on borrowed time. Ford will utilized the capacity for export from China but it won't need an Edge to do that. All the new products that Ford is launching in China domestic sales are coming from Jiangling Ford. There is no clarity yet on how Territory and Equator will be part of the future product strategy. But make no mistake... they are already global products, more so than Edge which is strictly China only vehicle.

They just developed the Chinese Edge specifically for that market, why would it "likely" be going away? I also don't think we've seen any indication that the Territory/Equator are going to C2 (even if putting them all on a global platform makes sense).

We've known this for a while. Size wise, I think it's going to straddle Escape and Edge sizes, allowing the next-gen BS to grow a bit.
