not sure if it is 100% accurate but according to this article the refresh Nautilus will debut at the end of the year, at least in China: "According to the plan, the Voyager will be upgraded by the end of the year. At that time, all Lincoln's main models will be equipped with AI intelligent cabin and a new front face design." https://k.sina.cn/article_3089293505_b822e0c102701k4n4.html -
Oh there is absolutely a savings for Ford. They didn't lower their prices for the dark horse SC so that's $800 more profit.

This is actually why I've supported the idea of having more mustang models. It's getting harder for mustang to be everything as they try to stretch the platform into further extreme end points. It worked when mustang prices ranged from like 25k to 40k. Having one platform doesn't really work as well when you're trying to range from 30 to 500k. Having a V8 relatively affordable, but slightly larger and more upscale coupe. A mid-engine supercar variant that can command 6 figures all day, and a small EV coupe based on CE1 that perfects the idea of the affordable return to the mustangs roots would be the dream. But I have to accept that's just what I want as an enthusiast and in reality, it's not really practical or economically viable to do that, it's just a dream I have. -

I personally believe dropping the Shelby name goes beyond just saving money. That's part of it, but I also believe Fords trying to craft new iconic names for the mustang that resonate with younger buyers in a bid to keep the mustang feeling fresh. -

This is why I'm pro Union, but anti-union greed. It just results in those jobs going to other countries and fucks those workers over because union reps pushed for a 30% raise when the brand already agreed to a 12% raise. They push for more, and more, to unreasonable levels, until those brands say enough, and just lay off those workers. -

Appears the selling is in for a loss on his $40k purchase. -

You realize Nautilus starts at $54k right? X5's base trim starts at $68k and go way beyond $80k GLE's base trim starts at $62k and go way beyond $80k While I agree it's price, and you're right, there are also competitors that are cheaper on the top end, but they offer the generic combos.

Something to think about - Ford didn't save one thin dime by not using the Shelby name. Any offering from Ford that included the Shelby name is paid for by those that actually buy the offering. It's not like the other vehicles in the line that have nothing to do with Shelby are somehow subsidizing its use. There is no "savings", just a broader offering of performance for those that want to customize their ride without having to pay extra for a name that that they either don't need, or don't want.
