  4. Not that I think Ford will do a software update to add this feature, but all the hardware is there if you have the Trailer Backup Assist. You wouldn't need the adaptive steering.

  5. Well today my order transitioned to "In Production"... so according to Ford this occurs 6 to 10 days before actually hitting to production line. What does this mean with the one week shut down coming? Don't know, but just happy to see a change 5 months.

  6. I like how Joe goes to Chicago 50 or so miles away in Crystal Lake. Why wouldn't he go to 79th and Cottage or 51st and Federal and talk to the people he says he is helping? He likes to talk about how the Dems are helping these people but haven't they been here in Chicago helping for like at least 70 years? Shouldn't surprise me after the VP finally visited the border from afar. And that only came about after Trump announced he was going to the border for a visit. Only difference is he was at the actual border. Everyday I lose hope these people will wake up.

  7. If I had a Nickle every time someone parrot this fake news talking point, I'd have enough money to buy a Tesla. The grid is fine. I work in the energy sector... it's our job to know if the grid is going to collapse and news flash: it is not This is the same as asking what happens to the sewer system if everyone in the city flash the toilet at the same time. First, it is not a real problem. Second, the grid doesn't work like the way you think it does... just because you plug in a bunch of EV, it doesn't overwhelm the grid. There is redundancy everywhere and we are building more storage capacity all the time. Third, the vast majority of EV do and will charge off peak. Fourth, the increase in EV is going to be graduate on a grid scale; we are not increasing throughput by 30% today or tomorrow. A few % increase in off peak draw is nothing to worry about. And lastly, we've done this before, many times. You should see the hand wringing from people back when prediction for adoption curve of refrigerators and air conditioning showed the grid is going to collapse. Nothing like that happened. Nothing like that ever happens because smart people are doing their job instead of spewing nonsense on cable new channel and fake news websites that are dedicated to ignore science and ridicule smart people.

  9. https://www.autoblog.com/2021/07/08/dodge-jeep-ram-chrysler-stellantis-ev-day-roundup/ Stellantis hit us with an absolute deluge of information regarding its future electric vehicle plans Thursday, including a roadmap for each of its brands to reach a goal of making electrified vehicles 80% of the company's total global volume by 2030. We'll hit all of the highlights here, with an emphasis on those that matter most to the U.S. marketplace. Stellantis previews 4 electric platforms: Here's how they'll be used This is the method behind the rest of Thursday's madness. Eventually, Stellantis will migrate its electrified vehicles onto one of these core platforms based around a new common EV powertrain architecture. Dodge will launch the 'world's first electric muscle car' in 2024 It looks like Dodge will invoke its 60s heritage (peep the illuminated "Fratzog" on the nose) for a new, all-electric muscle car. Based on the STLA Large platform, it's projected to have a 0-to-60 time as low as 2 seconds and a range of up to 500 miles. The automaker also hinted at a maximum power output of as high as 886 horsepower courtesy of a pair of 330-kilowatt electric motors. Jeep will have 4xe plug-in hybrid models across the lineup by 2025 The iconic 4x4 brand will have a plug-in hybrid variant of every model by 2025. The U.S.-market Compass 4xe is expected to debut this summer, and the Wagoneer 4xe has already been announced. The Grand Cherokee 4xe will be shown at the New York International Auto Show in August. Fully electric Ram 1500 will begin production in 2024 You didn't think the Ford F-150 Lightning would get the space all to itself, did you? Ram says it will have an electrified Ram 1500 on the market soon. Will it be fast enough to beat GM? Stellantis teases mystery electric Chrysler concept This one's a genuine puzzler. We've reached out to Chrysler for details, but for now, all we know is that this all-electric concept appears production-friendly and will ostensibly ride on the same STLA Large platform as the Dodge muscle car. Opel Manta E will be the electric revival of the classic German coupe We'll forgive you if you'd forgotten that Opel was now part of Stellantis, and with new ownership comes new opportunity. The company revived the Manta nameplate for what appears to be a high-riding coupe/hatchback concept. Fiat says all Abarth models to be electric from 2024 This likely won't matter much in the U.S. market, where the 500X will soon be the only vehicle it sells, but Fiat's performance division is going all-electric. Hey, maybe we'll get a 500X Abarth before Stellantis pulls the plug (yeah, sorry) on the Italian brand in the United States. Again.

  10. The biggest news here is actually the confirmation that midsize Ram Dakota will return as EV pickup, and there will be a companion EV SUV (presumably for Dodge) that will slot in below Durango, which is scheduled to jump to fullsize Wagoneer platform. Next gen Ranger will debut before Dakota but it won't be a pure EV. And no word yet on Bronco EV.

  13. The big difference between the Gladiator and Ford creating a Bronco pickup is that Stellantis doesn't have another midsize pickup (a la the Ranger) to contend / compete against (yet) in NA. Yes, they are different enough to where they could be sold side-by-side, but one of them would most likely suffer.

  23. Frankpz25 Yes, I have an order number. Did you receive one? If not ask your dealer. I’ve tried several sites, google chrome, Microsoft edge etc but to no avail. Invalid info or not available. The people at Ford don’t know why. I recommend getting your dealer to do the leg work. good luck.

  25. Thanks, I noticed the same rebooting over and over until finally I had a black screen. Luckily not a black screen of death as I pulled the USB, shut off the engine and when I came back out it was all normal. So far the Sync guys from the other forum you referenced seem to thankfully be incorrect on this not fixing the issues I was seeing.

  28. I wonder if Lincoln could emulate the Maverick strategy - base model as a hybrid, the GT as the PHEV, and a BEV as the top-end trim. That way at least the entire Lincoln lineup would be at least partially electrified.

  30. Personally, I still find $3700 too much just for the LED lights, and to be fair, even $2200 is pushing it, but I would without a doubt go with the Morimotos over the stock LEDs at these prices. I’ve read lots of good things about their aftermarket LED lights, and I think they look better too… Saying all of this, it won’t be anytime soon that I would get them, and while they are definitely on my list, that don’t mean I will for sure get them. As I mentioned, the stock halogens work great to me. As far as trim levels, I have always been firm on the XLT trim, no wondering for me! There is nothing on a Lariat I would want to pay extra for. Don’t like leather seats, would rather them be manual adjust and without butt heaters/coolers. I didn’t even opt for either of the XLT packages, so you can see how I’m a long way from either a Lariat, or those stock LED lights, price wise ($10700, not $3k)! Yeah, all those things are nice, but even my trucks configuration is $67k, and all that other stuff just isn’t worth it to me. And I’m not knocking anyone who gets those things… but I think the XLT is a nice looking truck. And I added things that made it more functional for towing and general use, such as the HCTT and snowplow/camper package, engine block heater, upfitter switches and a 332A alternator. My “luxury” features are things like the 360 cameras, tailgate step, remote start, reverse sensors, rear sliding window, front console and carpet delete! Lol. Yeah it’s basic, but it’s going to be great for us! Also, I am buying my truck to keep rather than to turn around and sale a few years later, so resell isn’t one of the reasons I’m buying. And as far as install, it’s pretty simple with the Morimotos, plug and play really. Sure, it’s not as easy as taking delivery with it already on, but this is also $8500 less expensive… for that amount I’d be willing to spend and hour or so installing them myself… and if anything happened I still have my stock lights available!

  31. I'd be really happy if we could go back to the sealed beam headlights that were used by everyone when I started driving 50+ years ago. No foggy plastic lenses to recondition or replace, adequate night time vision without blinding oncoming drivers, when they were dirty, you could simply scrub them clean. If they worked, and were adjusted/aimed properly, you were good to go. Yep, I'm an old geezer.

  32. Making a transition to exclusively 100% EV is a bad business model. It also goes against Ford’s model of “Something for Everyone”. EV are expensive and require massive government tax credits to customers. While diversifying energy sources for vehicles is good, completely transitioning a brand to only EV is a disaster. Just ask all of the folks in CA and NY dealing with rolling blackouts this week. They can't even charge their EV’s. EV only makes up 3% of the global vehicle market. Now imagine how much electricity will be used if that number increases to 30% That means more rolling blackouts and no way to drive to work.
