Oh I know. And definitely agree. But I had that stashed away, and figured I'd pull it out because of the thread.

jpvbs
Hasn't there been discussion about the Navigator benchmarking the Range Rover? I would presume that would mean the Navigator would gain some more off-road cred. Could that be a basis for a Bronco?
Anthony
Fullsize anything would not be a Wrangler competitor. To be a credible offroader, you can't be massive. Even the Wrangler itself got a bit large in its latest guise. Large wheelbase is asking to be high-centered. Edit: ...and don't say "Raptor"....that's a desert runner. jasonj80
Jason...any ideas size wise?... I would say it was bigger than Escape but smaller than Edge, I was also going 40mph and it was on the other side of the street on an 8 lane divided road so it was hard to judge. By the time I realized I hadn't see it before I was already well past it. Bad thing around Dearborn is a lot of Camo stuff all starts to blend in. Now that I know its out I'll keep an eye out for it. Hell it could have been a new eco-sport and just the reflection of the snow and morning light made it look bigger. Deanh
If its going to be a "rock crawler" as such, it cant be that big, maybe a size larger than the Bronco II, call it Scorpion and be done with it...2.7 eco, some hefty ground clerarance and suspension articulation BAM...Im curious for sure...especially if theres several body types...Small pickup bed anyone?.... akirby
Fullsize anything would not be a Wrangler competitor. Maybe if we both say this 100 more times it will sink in........
Edstock
Troller would be the ideal size, if it could meet collision/impact regs, IMHO. http://www.gizmag.com/troller-4x4-2014-sao-paulo-motor-show/34441/ http://www.troller.com.br/ The Facebook page is nice, with translate. https://www.facebook.com/TrollerBrasil
Deanh
Troller....sounds like the Male version of Cougar at the local Pub in Leisure World close to closing time....
Kev-Mo
Toyota markets the 4Runner as a premier off-road machine here in the Mountain West - and with decent sales success. As for the Bronco - I will start my savings account this very day!
Kev-Mo
That concept still looks awesome after all these years!
jpvbs
When they say "Wrangler competitor" I don't know if they really literally mean a BOF, solid axle, rock crawler. Things like the 4-Runner, FJ40, XTerra, various Hummers have all been generally considered market competitors with the Wrangler.
Fgts
I'll go with a beefed up CD6. It can use many rwd Explorer bits with its own bodystyle (ex:FJ cruiser = Tacoma in drag) .
Hugh
Enough said. I'm thinking Defender with 2 door hard and soft tops, 2 door pickup. 4 door extended wheelbase in hard and soft tops. Ecoboost and Diesel options. NLPRacing
The all new F150 based Expedition and next gen Raptor are due about the same time. An Expedition with Raptor suspension would make a pretty neat Bronco.
Mark B. Morrow
Troller....sounds like the Male version of Cougar at the local Pub in Leisure World close to closing time.... sullynd
The current Troller is a dead end product that is too expensive to upgrade to meet US and EU crash safety standards. But that doesn't mean the future Troller is not going to figure into this discussion. The new Troller is T6 based, isn't it? They would need to build a four door version tho. fordmantpw
While I seriously doubt that I will ever be in the market for a Bronco, I loved the Bronco throughout it's lifespan. We had 3 when I was growing up and they were great for road trips. Sleeping in the 'back back' was awesome, and they were great off road. My first vehicle was a Bronco II (that was basically a POS). It's great to see Ford in a position to stray from the mainstream a bit in order to grow market share. I hope this is just the beginning of cool things coming from Ford!
