ExplorerDude
I hear that the Lincoln MKT has been dropped from retail for MY2018 since most units sold were going to fleet limos. The Lincoln website confirms it, they don't even show the MY2017 MKT anymore. Looks like it's still around for fleet though but they scrubbed Lincoln.com pretty well.
jpd80
Not surprising as Ford and Lincoln have not mentioned MKT for years.
akirby
There is a retail order guide. Maybe it's available but just not being advertised.
MKX1960
My dealer has 4 of them. One odd thing is you can't look up the window sticker on them.

jpd80
... ... ...and that^ would be different, how? Another step towards its exit, don't talk about it, remove from websiteand only discuss wit actual buyer enquiries. Please let this be its last year model... akirby
Let me rephrase that. Not being shown on the website.
LincolnLover
It's good, that means the Aviator is around the corner within the next MY.

LincolnLover
Nope What do you mean "Nope"? I thought everything rumor wise has suggested the Aviator will launch either as a 2019 or in 2019? 2018's are coming out, that's why I said within a MY, meaning next year sometime give or take..... So you're saying it won't be before 2020?
PREMiERdrum
MKT is still available to retail buyers, but marketing support has been pulled by the mothership. On Aviator, last I heard was CY2019 / MY2020. The CD6 launch is still being... toyed with.
fuzzymoomoo
On Aviator, last I heard was CY2019 / MY2020. This is true according to what I know. I've even seen a drawing. It sounds like it will be late CY2019 launch.

I take as still being "tweaked" for optimization of the platform....wasn't CD6 supposed to be a "flexible" design meaning RWD, AWD and FWD?? jcartwright99
The CD6 platform development has really turned into a goat rodeo! Fields (and all the yes men) really set Ford back. I am just waiting for the next iteration of the Explorer to be release on it's current platform. Maybe by 2030 it and the model e will be ready. Not really...CD6 has been an enigma platform name that has been bounced around just as much as GRWD platform that was for years before it... That's been my speculation given it will be hybrid capable. Then again F150 and Expedition will be hybrid and presumably still have the traditional 4WD/AWD drivetrain. What is it then? Enigma, yes! I am pretty sure we have been talking about it since 2012/13.
fuzzymoomoo
Not really...CD6 has been an enigma platform name that has been bounced around just as much as GRWD platform that was for years before it... but CD6 is actually a real thing, and we will start publicly seeing evidence of it soon. Then again F150 and Expedition will be hybrid and presumably still have the traditional 4WD/AWD drivetrain. It's possible that they F-150/Expy too could have the same setup though - RWD powered by the engine, front wheels by the electric motors. Guess it depends what type of hybrid they are. I'm guessing with towing capacity likely being a significant factor, that they won't have it be a "full" hybrid that runs on electric only (or if it does, it won't have much electric towing range). And CD6 vehicles could have the engine mounted longitudinally.... -FWD models are similar to Audi where it's mounted north-south, but powers the front wheels -RWD models would send power rearward like a typical RWD vehicle -AWD would either be a typical AWD setup by the gas motor to all 4 wheels, or add electric motors at the front or rear wheels (depending if its a RWD/FWD model, respectively). Or have I misunderstood how the Audi powertrains work? Edited September 13, 2017 by rmc523

On the F150 using motors at the front wheels would work in a hybrid mode for high mpg or as an augment to RWD but I don't see that being a replacement for the more traditional 4WD use cases. fuzzymoomoo
That to me means we'll see some sort of concept this show season. I can't confirm because I haven't heard one way or the other, but I definitely wouldn't rule it out. Ford needs to change their reputation of dragging their heels and following the crowd. That would go a long way to changing that and I think Jim Hackett is keenly aware of that.
akirby
I think Hackett will do as much as possible regarding auto show products and reveals to make up for the last 18 months under Fields. I think that was a big factor in Fields dismissal.
