justins
Could the black tailgate simply be an unpainted early prod part? So not wearing Camo, but not reflective of production either? Not unpainted... Not colour matched. Lincoln seem to be getting differentiated a bit more from their Ford counterparts lately. It's difficult to justify asking more for a Navigator than a top spec Expy if the Nav doesn't look and feel any different inside. That would include things like the dash / infotainment. That surroundless screen as a dash look with the flat dash is what's happening with many makers at the moment. Seems to be the in thing. Not sure about the disconnected light strips, but the black panel seems to mirror the shape of the front grill. New Mustang loses its black trunk panel and the next Expedition gains it? Lol The front-end styling of the refreshed Chinese-market Equator Sport (and export market Territory?) that was leaked earlier this year is starting to make sense. You can clearly see the expedition lettering is outlined in yellow, exactly what you’d expect on the tremor. And you can see the ford badging. If this was a giant black sticker covering the rear, I doubt they would have put the lettering or the logo on top of that. My guess is that this is in fact the final version, or that particular part is an unpainted prototype of some sort. i have no explanation for the lights. At first I thought it might be something like on the explorer, but it looks nothing like that. I was referring specifically to the upper part above the Expedition - looks like there are some lines that are goofy, but probably not. 13 hours ago, SoonerLS said: Maybe the Expedition is getting the split hatch like the Navigator, and that’s just the unpainted upper half or from a different color vehicle. My guess is it splits at the bottom of the black panel. 12 hours ago, Andrew L said: I don't think anyone said it would have the same exact interior. My complaint was it would have the same coast to coast screen which would make the Navigator feel less special. Especially since the Escalade has a coast to coast screen but the lower GM models don't. Let's face it typically in the past if Lincoln were to debut a new feature almost immediately after a Ford would get it too which would ruin the "exclusivity" the Lincoln would have. Folks were saying it's the same just because of the screen.....I kept pointing out the completely different/100% unique dash and integration of the upper screen, but nope, it had a full width screen, that meant it's the same! 11 hours ago, akirby said: I don’t think that’s the production version at all. Why not? We've seen a lot of completely uncovered Ford/Lincoln models well before their debut (which I find odd). The only uncertainty I have is the black panel.....but the black panel is something they've been doing lately (ironically except on the new Mustang, where it'd be most appropriate). justins
The Ford logo is clearly a sticker when you zoom the image. I'm going with that black part not being a production piece. Edited August 29 by justins

I don't see it as clearly a sticker - the new Ford badge is flat and seemingly black/white.
Dlcorbett
The 4th gen nav did a really good job of separting itself from the expedition in terms of interior ambience, but they didn't do enough to change the driving characteristics. That probably won't change. Gm has done an admirable job of making the interiors feel more expensive in the mainstream models for this latest generation. Jeep has done a good job of this as well. If the kr and platinum have upgraded materials on the dash and the full screen, I think it would be able to pull off the interior look and still separate itself from the nav. Also, gotta love the egg on the face of those complaining that Expy and Navigator would have the exact same interior..... The area around the upper screen looks to be covered in fabric. Wonder if it is a full width BO sound bar like the new Explorer has. That seemingly reduces the chances of a full width screen on Platinum models. Dlcorbett
The tx state fair auto show is scheduled for Sept 27, I wouldn't be surprised if that's when the official debut will be as well as order banks opening up.

It sure is taking a long time to debut a moderate refresh. Let’s get it over with already.
Dlcorbett
The order banks supposedly don't open up until late October. With all its competitors now shown their updates, now is prime time for ford to unveil it.

Dlcorbett
Nice to see something that I like through the teaser. I actually like the expedition lettering is illuminated as well as the ford badge.

joseodiaga4
Ford Expedition Refresh In 2028 Could Include Hybrid: Report According to a recent report from Automotive News, the Ford Expedition “could add” a hybrid powertrain option in the future, but not until its next refresh, which is planned for 2028. This news isn’t terribly surprising given the fact that the 2025 Navigator debuted without an electrified option as well, but both have been expected to gain that type of powertrain for a pretty long time now. Regardless, even if customers have to wait until 2028 to see a hybrid Ford Expedition, that will still meet The Blue Oval’s goal of offering hybrid in every ICE (Ford Blue) model in its lineup by 2030. https://fordauthority.com/2024/10/ford-expedition-refresh-in-2028-could-include-hybrid-report/
