Wonder if this mid-size EV platform is similar in size or shares much with the new KIA PV5?  It’s a nice looking mid-size van, as vans go anyway.  If KIA plan to offer EV pickup, then maybe PV5 will follow?   Dimensions listed for PV5 may work well for a mid-size pickup, particularly if a stretched variant is also offered.  Article below mentions “183.4 inches (4659 millimeters) long, 74.6 inches (1895 millimeters) wide, and 74.7 inches (1899 millimeters) tall” on a 117.9 inch wheelbase.   https://www.motor1.com/news/751961/kia-pv5-specifications-details/  

Yeah but just think of what could possibly happen for that to occur-it’s not pleasant for the vast majority of people living in the area. 

Im not talking just autos, we need pretty much everything that the Chinese are building now.    One interesting thing I heard about bringing back manufacturing is normalizing relations with Cuba and using them as lower end assembly due to lower cost of living there, but seeing reports of how bad their power grid is, they would need a huge investment just to get that sorted.     

If I recall correctly, this one was cobbled together quickly after Cadillac saw the Lincoln Aviator.

Acadia just got redesigned, and is back on the same platform of Traverse and Enclave.

Wonder how long Acadia will stick around. I imagine Traverse will be the last man standing.

Kia Confirms Electric Pickup Truck for America   Although Kia has already ruled out bringing the polarizing Tasman to the United States, we’re still getting a truck. Instead of the gasoline and diesel workhorse, a fully electric pickup is coming to North America. The announcement was just made at the 2025 Kia CEO Investor Day event, during which some preliminary details were disclosed. It will ride on a new EV platform intended for “both urban and outdoor use.” Reading between the lines, Kia is likely saying the new truck won’t compete in the fullsize segment with the Ford F-150. It’ll be smaller, presumably the size of a Ranger. CEO Ho Sung Song did say last week during the Seoul Mobility Show that the US-bound truck would do battle in the midsize segment with the likes of the Toyota Tacoma and Jeep Gladiator. He quashed rumors about bringing the Tasman to North America.
