Sadly, I'm in a believe it when I see it mode, because we know how Ford likes to change plans.....they could rip everything up tomorrow and start over.
I truly hope that Lincoln is included in this new product lineup. If Borg is to be believed (I know we can take his reports with a grain of salt), he's saying there's not really anything on the horizon outside of EREV Aviator and maybe Navigator.
That’s funny. Curious enough that had to look up and found one Chinese seller that even shows the truck with RAM grille.
I suppose it’s limited to driving within parking lot. I can’t see a tag, and wouldn’t expect one. Claimed top speed is roughly 30 MPH from 4 kW electric motor. Specs show 72-Volt electrical using lead acid batteries, and just under 15 feet in length, roughly 70 inches wide and tall.
Much of the product problems stems from the dropping of the three row EVs and COVID/product review that Ford kicked off in 2023/24.
Ford has stated they will be showing their future plans in the first half of this year, so that means we should be hearing what is going to be happening in the next 90 days or so.
I’m sure that upcoming changes in CAFE will also play into these product plans to a small degree, but then again that might snap back in four years or so.
I think Fords best bet is to just keep going with what they have planned for the next five years.
I wish I shared your optimism about CE1. I’ve heard a lot of talk about this platform yet there has been very little substance IMO. How soon will this actually be available? I do like the fact that it appears to be aimed at the entry level, which I think is appropriate, since I think young people, who need affordable vehicle options, will be more open to EVs, but it’s still unknown how the EV adoption will play out.
Probably the biggest upcoming vehicle of interest is the Mach4, but that isn’t official, and probably needs at least a couple of years to come to fruition. The pending GT500 will be a nice addition upon arrival.
Talks of vehicle eliminations and lack of timely new products leads to not much happening over the next couple of years, as RMC had mentioned previously, which is disappointing to me.
We definitely need to improve the robustness of our power grid, that's for sure. I see where you're coming from, but it looks like auto and law makers alike are easing some of the pressure on evs, we'll see how that impacts their acceptance.
Excellent additions, it's going to be a real product blitz. Beyond production cars, this is also when we're gonna see Ford jump back into F1 and prototype racing. There's gonna be so much going on we will hardly be able to keep track of it lol.
