He did the same when he saw the initial GE1 (Mustang Mach E) design ideas floated in 2017-2018 -ish (or earlier). Then put the industry on it's head by naming it Mustang Mach E....the purists went nuts, the car garnered a lot of attention....now, lets see if he can do that again with CE1. I personally like Mach E, but it is time to freshen it up, maybe slide CE1 under a refreshed version.

hoping that people would accept it but wasn’t sure, that was about a year ago but
can’t find the quote now…
The point being that Ford was trying to rewrite the efficiency records with CE1
and super efficient packaging means differnt proportions which affects styling.
The moment they go to a shorter hood, the styling changes but then, we’ve now
lived through the Cybertruck era so I’m optimistic that CE1s will be much better
style wise but maybe embrace a the proportions on a smaller scale…
And the other shoe drops…
It looks like current Lightning is enough for now until interest grows enough for a next Gen BEV pickup
and by the time that happens in 2028/2029 Ford will be way beyond whatever it designed in T3.
If EREV is the next big thing for full size pickups and SUVs, perhaps Ford will indeed reuse some of
T3 frame and architecture to make an efficient variation on the ICE F150 production facility at REVC?
I'm not fond of the shorter hood look myself, but there is a relatively sizable portion of truck owners out there who want decent interior space, and a larger bed without increasing the overall size of the vehicle. So I could see something with a shorter hood appealing to them. Will it appeal to them enough to overlook a less conventional design and less frunk space? That remains to be seen.
Who is asking for a shorter hood? Shorter hood = less useful frunk.

I believe the issue is an EV truck can't be the best it can be if it's constrained by the limitations of having to share a platform with a gas truck. Like an EV truck would in theory have a shorter hood to give users more interior and bed space, but then you can't translate that over to an ICE truck because if the hood is too short, you won't be able to package the larger engines ICE truck owners want.
Better yet, you can get a MME GT with Performance Upgrade that is roughly 0.5 second faster in the 1/4 mile for $8,400 less than what a Mustang Dark Horse goes for and is a whole lot more practical.
I’m honestly not a fan of T3 as a separate model from the F150. I wonder if the delay to T3 and NG F150 wasn’t to bring them back together. F150 should be the best ICE truck, best HEV/EREV truck, and best BEV truck.
