Yes, the Don Peterson years. A product guy who went on to become CEO. He encouraged Ford to be more daring with styling (the aero look), worked with Edwards W. Deming to improve Ford quality, and openly worked with the UAW which was unheard of back the. For a few years in the late 80's, Ford made more money than GM. A really good CEO who was forced to step down early because of poor relations with the Ford family.
I thought originally the screenshot came from Tesla’s “We’re accelerating the world’s transition to sustainable abundance” video shared on X. In that context what piqued my interest is why show a Robotaxi in development or undergoing modifications? Like you said before, Robotaxi or Cybercab was already completed so why show it at a previous state of development? I don’t know, maybe just filler to extend video, or maybe the SUVs in background were the real message they wanted to communicate all along and leaked it in this manner. I don’t think they are that clever though, but who knows? They do love to spin stuff endlessly. 😀
I remember taking a Prelude out for a test drive in the 80's, when I got back, the salesperson asked how I liked it and I was honest, telling him I didn't like it....he got so pissed, he stormed off into the showroom and would not show me anything else...I left.
To be fair, the CE1 truck is releasing in late '26 and Ford seemed to hint they would reveal it in early '26. So that's why the CE1 truck was the first thing I thought of.
I'm setting the bar low and going with GT500, as we've seen it on roads, and they specifically say production vehicle. We haven't seen anything else out on roads, and nothing else is really close enough timeline wise to warrant a full debut.
The robotaxi is highlighted because it's a video about.....the robotaxi lol
from the article......
While the focus of the clip was on autonomous modeling of Tesla’s Cybercab project,
In light of slow EV sales, the ID.2all play-on-word name seems a little out of touch or presumptuous. I can see wanting to change that one. I personally liked it but think others probably prefer Polo. Not that a new name will suddenly make it far more appealing though it can’t hurt.
Proves people have different interests. 😀
That CT based SUV has next to no chance of being produced so just a theoretical exercise that seems pointless. Or not, depending on what you like I suppose. The Robotaxi was highlighted for a reason in video as if different from A pillar forward. Not really sure if trying to show more of a Model 3 look as Sherminator98 appears to have seen. From my perspective a smaller Tesla 2/Q has been of greater interest to auto enthusiasts than any other car in last 5 years or so.
