Dunno if Field worked in the skunkworks directly, though he is largely responsible for laying the foundation that made Ford skunkworks possible. As the big shot that led Model e since 2021, there are several products either developed or first produced under his tenure: F-150 Lightning (which Ford killed earlier this year 😡), MME, E-Transit, Explorer EV, Capri EV, and Puma Gen-E, not to mention the upcoming CE1 products. Field won't have any trouble finding another automaker to hire him and pay him major moolah: Field, meanwhile, is one of the most coveted executives in the industry. Tesla, Apple, Ford — he’s tried it three times. Wherever he lands next will matter. His track record in actually shipping vehicles is now considerably better than the industry average, and there’s no shortage of EV startups and legacy automakers that could use him.

Hyundai USA allows customers to order and get delivery of an automobile through Amazon, though franchised new car dealerships act as intermediaries in the transaction.

It's interesting that Ford was going to market this as a crossover. Unless the photo is just distorted somehow, this has more of a sedan/wagon feel. At any rate, Ford was probably correct to cancel this. Ford may have had a hard time selling this to traditional three-row crossover buyers due to the extreme rear slope.

I could bite the bullet at $36K for only 25,000 miles (and I am not even a huge EV person). A range of 340 miles is pretty tolerable.

Would the 3rd row be backwards facing like the original Model S? I don't see forward facing seats working with such a sloped roof line

I truly doubt youll EVER be able to order and get delivery of an Automobile through Amazon...imagine the returns...oh, and the porch Pirates...then theres DMV and original signatures required on specific paperwork...

And with just 150 miles of range standard! DOA… unfortunate because I built one on their site and loved it! Almost reserved one until the emotional appeal wore off. -

Good to know. Yeah I can see why certain design elements were such a turn off to clinics and Ford employees. The side profile isn't the worst thing I've ever seen, but the front looks rough between the droopy front end, odd DRLs, and the weird headlight placement that's super low. I'm curious if the front really was that bad looking or if it looked better from a front 3/4s angle or something. -

Did Fields work on the Skunkworks or is the leaving with no product developed under this tenure?ñ (aside from the thousand of products canceled by Ford) 😂 -

Yep that’s it. I always said this thing looked like a mix of a Tesla Model X and Model Y, with a little bit of Polestar 3 and an old Taurus wagon mixed together. This was Ford’s attempt to provide Tesla customers a vehicle with 3 rows of seating.
