Allocation is required for scheduling all orders, stock and retail, but retail orders have priority due to the priority codes. There are times when Ford offers scheduling without allocation, but those are for specific vehicle lines and usually for limited periods. Stock orders have limited specifications and option availability, but retail orders can include all specifications and options available in the regular order guides. Retail orders have increased dramatically in the past few years and are an important part of Ford's production mix.
The Mach E Extended Range's battery pack for example weighs 670kg (1,477lbs), the weight of the cells in the pack is 399kg (879.6lbs).
They'd need to resort to something more exotic like a carbon fiber monocoque structure to really cut down on weight, something you can't do for a mass-produced vehicle that has to be in a certain price point.
With today's technology, it makes more sense for city cars to go full electric. Small body, small battery, light weight, downside, short range, then again, a city car is meant to mainly go around the city.
The BYD Seagull is about the size of a Chevy Spark or Mitsubishi Mirage. It weighs just around 350lbs more than an ICE car of the same size. Range is just 190 miles though for the standard model.
I'm not sure what you're suggesting. The connector requires more than four leads, so cutting off the connector and wiring inside the cabin won't work. Or are you suggesting punching out the grommet and just running my wires through that opening?
According to Tim Bartz, with Long McArthur Ford, who posts scheduling information weekly on their Youtube channel every Tuesday, as of 06/03/2024 13,191 Ford Super Duty were listed on the unscheduled order bank (USOB), of that number, 59% were F450 Super Duty orders. According to Tim Bartz, F450's are limited to 2% to 6% of plant capacity (this includes both pickup and chassis only). Additionally, on 06/10/2024, Tim Bartz reported, 13,252 Ford Super Duty on the USOB with limited availability of the front 4x4 axle for F450 and F550.
I don't know if it applies to your order source, but I also learned from Tim Bartz that regardless of priority codes assigned to an order, if a Ford dealer does not have an allocation from Ford for Super Duty trucks, where allocations are earned from their sales history in their region, the order will just sit on the USOB. This is the case for me. I ordered an F350 Super Duty XL Crew Cab, 4x4 with 6.7 liter power stroke, 160" wheel base on February 13, 2024, and nothing has yet been scheduled. Looking at the Dealer's website where I placed my order, it appears they have little movement with their inventory. Therefore, they aren't getting any allocations from Ford.
Hope this helps.
Good Luck.
I'm not saying they don't sell them, but I've noticed a few of the same Platinum ones sitting there at least 6 months. The fact is sales will continue to go down slowly year after year at this point. If we go by the last 5 years within 5 years the average ATP on a mid-level F150 will hovering around $80k. Middle class just can't swing that anymore. Of course it's exactly what one group in DC wants. Drive prices so high people can no longer own a personal vehicle and have to rely totally on the government for transportation.
That’s a small part on why I didn’t get a truck when my lease expired couldn’t find what I wanted (XLT powerboost Lux max tow package). The only 3 powerboost f-150s the dealer had at the time were already sold and none of them were really what I wanted.
Didn’t matter anyway, the sales guy kept trying to upsell the hell out of me and I wasn’t about to double my monthly payment for a bunch of stuff I didn’t want.
I’ll keep driving my “commodity” product until either the wheels fall off or the transmission needs a second rebuild
