You'd be surprised...well maybe not 😛 -
If Ford is bringing a new Maverick out in 2 years, this truck won’t be replacing it.

Given the information shared and expectations, I don't see why Ford would be in any rush to replace the Ranger when it just went through a significant update a few years back and shares it platform with the Bronco and Everest. Adding say a unibody pickup that is similar to the Ridgeline doesn't make much sense-it would be competing against the Ranger, not offer much improvement if at all in gas mileage and maybe the only improvement would be in NVH maybe? The CE1 would also be competing in for buyers in that size and price range also. It just seems like it would be a hard sell for a new midsized truck even if the Ranger went away. Thus my comments about I hope Ford can get the marketing for this in a good place that it can sell. That is why I think what Ford has put out about the TTP has been a red herring. IMO the smart money would be moving the Maverick (or its replacement) there and maybe adding another product or two to TTP if that is possible. Or maybe looking at this from outside the box-maybe TTP will get a midsized CUV that some sort of truck will be based off of (that would make more sense IMO) so that the CUV would carry the production numbers and the truck would be just a nice to have adding to it. Some more thoughts: Small pickup-No product Compact pickup-Maverick EV midsized pickup-CE1 Midsized-Ranger Fullsized-F Seriese IMO if they are going to do a truck, why not a small pickup that is sub 200 inches long? Maybe something like the Slate but not as spartan? I can see the market supporting the Bronco, an Edge replacement and even the Everest together far better then 4 pickups that are very similar to one another with the Maverick, CE1 EV PU, a TTP truck and the Ranger. -
Why are you assuming they'll be additional trucks and not replacements? Only way they'd be add-ons is if they're commercially focused.

A new Edge, if it's a boring commodity unibody crossover blob like the previous two generations of Ford Edge, ain't happenin'. Remember what Jimbo and Jimbaum said? We make products for people who work, and work with their hands, and we make passion products like Bronco and Mustang. And that’s what we do at Ford, and when we’ve gotten away from that formula, it hasn’t worked out, Jim Farley said. Rule No. 1 at Ford: no boring products. Our industry is in the midst of a disruption. But one thing remains true: Great products always win. “We’re not trying to make toasters on wheels,” added Jim Baumbick, Ford’s vice president of advanced product development. “We’re not trying to make just commodity products. It’s all about emotion.”

I mean, who didn't understand this?

Hopefully the breakthrough processes Ford learned and developed thanks to the skunkworks will allow it to eke out a profit at the same selling price regardless of powertrain type. Come on Ford big shots, make the wish I mentioned in the Ford Is Reinventing the F-150 thread come true! Ideally, Ford will offer 2029 F-150 with these powertrain choices at the same starting price comparably equipped. That's my wish 😄 V8 V6 EcoBoost Hybrid Lightning EREV Lightning pure BEV

It is getting kinda ridiculous. We get it, trucks are profitable for Ford. But have so many truck models and variants that it's hard to keep track of it all is a little absurd. I wish Ford put some of that money into something like a new edge, instead of trying to make a 5th, 6th, 7th truck. I think they're starting to slice things too thin. -
Exactly. This has nothing to do with selling price. It's Ford trying to eke out a profit at the same selling price.
