  1. Plain & simple, there's too damn many dealerships, especially in an urban area. I don't need 17 Ford dealerships within a 20 mile radius to buy a new vehicle at. If they want to create smaller service centers, great. Heck, my last 4 new vehicle purchases have all been at dealers at least 50 miles away. They need to adapt and change, having one on every corner is unnecessary. HRG

  2. It is the Henry Ford curse, after shredding those Dodge Boys and Willy Durant on the back roads, he was never able to sneak the car home. Now they've created an SUV sleeper where the boys will be boys, only they will be able to sneak home in pure EV.

  3. Figured I'd throw in some (bad) real world photos I took of the first few Aviators the local dealer has received: It looks great in person.

  5. Sounds like Generation 1 is the Mach and Generation 2 is the new larger BEV. Even though nothing has been sold.

  6. My dealer didn't get its first load of Aviators in until August 16th because of all the delays and "sent off site" stuff. Needless to say I ran right over to check them out after being told they finally got some in to see in person. I spent quite a while checking them out and the panel gaps were impressively tight and the door, hood and hatch alignments were perfect on all of them.

  7. By the way-Ice-Capades has posted 2020 order guides for 350-550 chassis cabs. 6.2 and 7.3 offered in 350. 450 and above only gas is the 7.3. Nothing yet on650/750 or E series.

  8. Keep in mind that the contract you vote for will establish the foundation for YOUR future at Ford.A big signing bonus might be a great deal but the question is what if anything are you giving up to get that bonus. Also jealousy is self-defeating.All high seniority workers were low seniority at one time!

  9. I said, "no urgent need to change anything", that does not mean changes don't have to be made post 2025. Those lower CO2 ratings you quoted for the Ecoboosts are based on the lower tow rated vehicles Guys, I'm not against change but the Intel I have form a few years ago was that he 4.8 engine rumored was something born out of rumors about bore changes to the 5.0 V8 whaich actually proved to be a slight increase in bore, not a decrease. California is tricky because emissions are tighter there but i wonder if Ford has solutions already in hand like the BEV F150 that gets sold alongside a hybrid F150 planned for next and regular F150s to square away both ZEV and total emissions requirements.

  10. I don't see mass exodus from the UAW ranks advancing positive change at all. What needs to happen is the following. 1. More involvement in local UAW elections. 2. Changes in how upper level leaders are nominated and elected. 3. Improved attendance and voice at union meetings. 4. No longer accepting business as usual from our union at all levels. 5. improved focus on needs of membership. 6. Eliminations of tiers. 7. Improved election standards for contract ratification (computer voting machines). 8. Renewed focus on restoration of benefits given up during recession. 9. Less focus on party politics and supporting those who support us and our needs regardless of party. (Reminder Clinton passed NAFTA and Obama supported TPP.) 10. Outside auditors for all IUAW accounts and programs. We need reform and renewal not elimination of the union. Make no mistake things would get much worse very quickly without union representation. We would all have one tier with lower wages and less benefits for all. We would go from bad to much worse very quickly.

  12. This is the single most important reason people associates Lincoln to Ford. So Lincoln/Ford has nobody else to complain. The separation should have been done years ago.

  13. The interesting thing is that Ford can completely gut a plant and having it up and running in less time then it took Tesla to even put out its model 3.

  16. Rule change #7 would make all the difference in the world because then every members vote would be counted fairly.I hope the Feds are watching the voting procedure this time around.Withdrawing from the union would send a message that we demand to be represented.I don't think we would be without a union for long. The UAW would change its tune in a heartbeat or another organization would step in.The Autoworkers Caravan is one that come to mind. The problem of corruption transcends the UAW.It is a flaw in human nature.

  19. But 80.6 MPGe is fine with me... plus I'll have that Instant electric torque and that ICE power working together instead of having one system lugging the other system around for no reason. Just the battery already weighs 300 pounds... nearly half of what the EV system adds. I wouldn't want it to be any heavier.

  21. https://www.jdpower.com/cars/expert-reviews/2020-lincoln-aviator-review I could care less about EV only range. Driving it ANYWHERE with that wonderful ecoboost disabled seems like a total waist of availble resources to me! Especially when "the Aviator Grand Touring averaged 80.6 MPGe through full battery depletion" and then it still gets better milage than the gas only models after battery depletion. PLUS, all that power is ready and waiting whenever you get the urge... so why neuter it to go 18 miles as an EV when you can do 80.6 MPGe as a PHEV while having a lot more fun!!

  22. Fleet managers, maybe, but that's about it. There are a few F-150 guys who would trade a Coyote for a 5.4, but I have yet to run across one who would take the 4.6 over the 5.0.

  24. Yes sir, Corvette is one the most popular models for amateur racing and motorsports. In the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, Lone Star Corvette Club holds dozens of competitive racing events and driving schools every year. Autocross, HPDE, road rallies, drag racing, open road racing.

  25. Wider range? They already offer an as wide or wider than the competition. And there's a hybrid and all electric in the near future. Sorry, I'm not explaining myself very well. There are a number of people who feel that EB's are the best available option, I'm not one of them. I have (2) Fords in the garage, a '18 Escape SEL AWD, and a '19 Edge SEL AWD, BOTH had no choice but an EB powertrain. I'm a gambler, so my point above was, let's offer Mustangs and F-150's with ONLY EB's, and see what the sales numbers become. Just trying to interject that choice is good, but unfortunately, certain products have very limited powertrain choices. HRG

  26. That wasn't the point i was making.... F150, towing 7,000 lb trailer @ 70 mph 2.7 EB...8.7 mpg 3.5 EB...9.1 mpg 5.0 V8.....10.1 mpg F250 6.2 V8 ...12,500 lbs....8.6 mpg.... I have to believe that the 6.2 V8 engine would be much better on gas when towing 9,000 lbs and 7,000 lbs

  27. It'll never happen! The Dark Highland Green (B5) paint has only been available for the Mustang Bullitt. Ford is not going to make it available on the other Mustang models so that buyers can get a lesser version Mustang in Dark Highland Green and diminish the impact, heritage, appearance, recognition, etc. of the Mustang Bullitt.

  28. UAW rank and file are taken for granted by the UAW leadership. They live in a world far above us,rubbing elbows with company executives.Uh-oh look at the time 4:37 am,I gotta go start my shift.Have a nice day!

  29. Cal FCAU executives told the VP in charge of labor to keep the IUAW "fat, dumb and happy".These investigations are ongoing and to be fair Ford, has not been mentioned yet.I like the idea of stopping dues and if,if corruption is discovered at Ford I will consider that an option.I cant help but see the IUAW as parasites and that Bob King,Bozo gives me nightmares. All the concessions he granted set the workers back years.

  30. It's the IUAW staff that is subject of corruption and misusing our dues money, NOT the company. Want to hurt the people responsible, stop sending them dues $$$ and make them go back to the line, or prison.
