  4. @Cyberdman, thank you for all you do for this site. My vehicle went from In Production to Built to my dealer calling me yesterday afternoon saying it had already arrived. The tracking site showed it was expected to arrive on 10/6. I guess it helps being less than 200 miles from the assembly plant. I went and picked it up this morning and am a very happy man. I got excellent financing deals, a small rebate and a wonderful ride. I have named him Link. I've got him plugged in right now giving him a drink of juice. Next time I order a vehicle I will make certain I read and memorize the rules. ?

  5. After lots of searching and many false leads, I was finally able to locate an SE trim Escape PHEV at a dealer almost 500 miles away (hey Ford - your online inventory system sucks). Placed a deposit and collected it this week. Got 40 electric miles followed by 41mpg highway all the way back (in regular driving mode, not ECO). It charges in about 12hrs off a regular 110V outlet. So far very pleased with it, save for a few quirks like wading through what felt like 30 screens of settings in SYNC and Android Auto ? (e.g. figuring out how to turn adaptive cruise into normal cruise-control). The color ("antimatter blue") looks black most of the time and only really shows the blue in bright lighting such as sunlight. Handling is essentially identical to the gas engine version we test-drove - pickup in EV only mode is adequate but not mind-blowing. Convenience package (electric driver seat adjust and power lift-gate) definitely worthwhile additions. Being FWD only, I'm excited to see how it handles once we get some snow on the ground (may end up getting snow tires).

  6. We also have the protection of the 5th amendment Due process clause. Due process is the legal requirement that the state must respect all legal rights that are owed to a person. Due process balances the power of law of the land and protects the individual person from it. When a government harms a person without following the exact course of the law, this constitutes a due process violation, which offends the rule of law. Due process has also been frequently interpreted as limiting laws and legal proceedings (see substantive due process) so that judges, instead of legislators, may define and guarantee fundamental fairness, justice, and liberty. That interpretation has proven controversial. Analogous to the concepts of natural justice, and procedural justice used in various other jurisdictions, the interpretation of due process is sometimes expressed as a command that the government must not be unfair to the people or abuse them physically. The term is not used in contemporary English law, but two similar concepts are natural justice, which generally applies only to decisions of administrative agencies and some types of private bodies like trade unions. Isn't forcing someone to take a vaccine without knowing the LONG TERM Effects possible physical abuse? Remember.....Every drug RECALLED by the FDA was once APPROVED by the FDA.

  9. Yes, Granger is great, I have talked with them. Only reason I did not go with them is Apple Ford was 0 deposit (I've purchased an xplorer from themback in 2018). Granger was $1000 deposit for each ordered vehicle. Saved $2,000 on deposits by going Apple Ford. But Granger is a little better discount at 2% below invoice.

  10. That’s a great deal. One thing for people to note is that the higher trim level you get the bigger the margin which in turn can equal a bigger discount when it comes to getting invoice pricing. For example a Lariat May have a 4K difference between MSRP and invoice. Where a KR or Platinum May have over 6k. Some people tend to think that the invoice margins are the same across the board. And I agree with you on establishing a relationship. I have bought multiple trucks from my dealership and send everyone I know there and they treat everyone fair. Some of my friends have even tried to shop the price they’re given and can’t beat it. So that’s a plus.

  11. Joe Murphy @ Apple Ford in Apple Valley MN...can order a 2022 F150, Explorer, Super Duty, Bronco....at invoice pricing plus incentives/rebates. Still great dealers out there and awesome sales people. However, it's limited. 7 others have ordered trucks from him on ford tremor forum. I changed my order 7/13 and its scheduled for oct 18th week 2022 F350 6.7 Tremor. I also ordered a 2022 Explorer Timberline for my wife and it's also scheduled for end of November.

  13. Part of that can be answered by observing the quality of the work force, and realizing that the good employees that ARE available are doing a yeoman's job of try to minimize the bleed. Add to that the tendency of most folks to deflect any sort of "blame", and....yeah. I'm semi-retired, having spent a lifetime (since 3rd grade) in service/sales of one sort or another - from a family-owned hardware store where you learned to do math in your head, to years of helping customers find resolution to water issues - including NASA. I learned long ago - own what you do (right OR wrong) - but most importantly, FIX IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME. Most customers don't care what/how something happened - they just want it corrected and a reasonable expectation that it won't happen again. Unfortunately, many companies (and their employees) don't subscribe to that - so the excuses and BS flows... I don't have the inclination to get worked up about that...lol

  16. Personally, I can understand the parts shortage. Supply chains around the world have been disrupted. Again, I understand. However, what I do not understand is why someone at Ford has not taken the time to explain what is going on. That shouldn't happen. Why is the dealership pointing fingers at Ford, and vice versa. That shouldn't happen. Why can't the Rewards Points be correctly loaded? That shouldn't. Parts shortages can't be helped. Customer service can be helped.

  21. OK, thanks. I would have never thought of that on my own. The Nautilus has an actual mute button. The Corsair obviously does not. No biggie. FYI, it mutes faster when you hit the on/off button.

  22. I think y'all are reading something into his comment that wasn't stated. He's running a 50 amp circuit - meaning, that's the amp load it's capable of. No mention as to the breaker being installed in the sub panel for his outlet. I built a workshop in my back yard - 50 amp breaker on the main panel, feeding a number of lower-rated breakers on the sub panel in the workshop. It's how you do 'em. The 50 protects me from overloading the main circuit while the smaller breakers protect the individual circuits. The actual wiring to the workshop is capable of over 100 amps - but I was raised by an old-school electrical engineer - you overbuild in case you want to upsize later. At very least, THAT circuit will never give you a problem.

  24. To the OP, you get the deals at the time of ordering or the deals at the time of delivery, nothing in between. Since your order was placed prior to this email, you get what was available at that time. If you wanted to take advantage of the email offer, you would of had to reorder your vehicle and get price protected with the deal pending the MY it is good for. So it is neither a shady dealer or Ford marketing.

  26. The 7.3 makes it easy to imagine the 370, 429, 460 Lima engines, modernised with alloy heads and fuel injection. How I wish that Ford had merged 302, 351 and 400 engines into one engine architecture like Ford Motorsport did.

  34. For decades now, anything around 1.6 has proven to be more than acceptable in most regular applications. While having a long enough rod is important, improvements in other areas of engine design have made newer engines more efficient. I don’t claim to be an expert in this field but it seems to me that HD & MD require gasoline engines to be at least 7.0 litres to have sufficient capacity to maintain efficiency under continuous load. Going larger capacity probably treads on the toes of sacred cow diesel sales….

  35. The Lima's were a much better truck engine than the FT's ever were, in my opinion. I think the only reason the Super Duty V-8's stayed around so long was because the FT391 could not compete with the GM 'truck' 427's. Interesting about the rod ratio of the 7.3L. I never thought rod ratio was that big a deal, one of the 'worst' engines from a rod ratio standpoint was the Ford 300 6 cylinder. Right around 1.5 as I remember.

  37. IMO it's not really worth it, but I wanted the factory LED's and I like the push button start, so I ended up getting it on one of the two trucks that I needed. The other truck I went with the value package and added the tailgate step.It will rarely be driven at night so I don't need the LED's, ambient lighting, etc. and I didn't want to spend the extra money on the little bells and whistles the ultimate package gives you. The two trucks ended up being about $9,000 difference in price. If you run book on these trucks for a model year 2020 with the same features, they only book $2,000 apart. So you'll take a much bigger hit on the loaded up one. If you are going to keep it forever or a long time then maybe it doesn't matter. From my research, I think the Lariat with the value package is the best value overall of all the trim levels. This opinion is heavily weighted on the longer term resale value, which is very important to me.

  38. I think it's money well spent. Once you drive one with the leds, the standard make you wonder if your lights are really on. Definitely get the oem, otherwise you'll pay out the nose.

  40. As has been well documented, they changed the block design to eliminate the problem area. If the replacement block that was installed (with the new design) fails, I'll simply take the vehicle back to the Dealer that provided excellent service to me earlier this year. I sure as hell ain't joining a class action suit, since Ford stepped-up and took care of my problem. I have no interest in making a bunch of lawyers rich. HRG
