  2. My sense is that it’s the 25k/year F650/F750 verses the +900k/year sales of F150 to F600 argument, Improving those Class 6 & 7 offerings is not going to have the influence you think on already huge annual sales of F Series. ^^^^^^^^^ this is how I see Ford’s attitude but they should look to at least offer air brakes on F750… These sales exist for the same reason the Ford gasoline MDs do and just because GM has concocted a cheap outsource way back into class 7, that doesn’t guarantee success or even that Ford should follow. Typical GM hubris, throw money at something hoping that some of it sticks and produces results. In Ford’s position, I would do some simple changes that you’ve previously suggested without going overboard.

  4. I think the most bizarre thing about my mother's Maverick was that there was no glove box, just a shelf where it would normally be. Her Maverick was also that white with blue racing stripes and red pinstripes. Like this:

  5. There is already 360 degree cameras on my truck. I don't feel like it would take much to add a app to the programming to utilize one or more cameras as a dash cam. Maybe set up USB connect external hard drive/ flash drive for loop recording or video download. All this technology and still need to add another camera to have a dash cam. Even if it's a $5 app download. (Should be free with a $50,000-$100,000 truck) but if $1-$5 per truck app download pays to have the app built and integrated then it is 100% worth it to me for the protection to me and my truck.

  6. I pulled my other thread and I'm posting as a follow up. So to summarize what has happened- Went to the dealership and things went toxic after 10K markup-they wouldn't budge and I left in a huff, to put it nicely. Then later that day I had a toxic phone call with the GM of the dealership. I posted to Bronco6G about the situation with my dealership adding 10K to my reservation order. The thread went completely toxic which lead to something like 200-300 bad reviews on Google or Yelp in the past few days. The 6G community is a bit over the top and people where self-identifying with my issue and it just went BAD. Ford contacted me Friday but situation that happened after that till Monday kind of tied their hands to work the issue out with the dealer. The GM sent me an email yesterday morning. I called him, apologized for my actions and for what happened on B6G. They apologized for what happened with the ADM and not telling me before hand. we came to the agreement that they would prioritize a reorder of a 22MY Bronco for me (I've received an email from the Ford NY Sales and Regional manager confirming this) and I'd get it at MSRP, in writing this time. I also asked on B6G for people to remove their bad reviews or amend them, which some have done already. Yeah I didn't get my Bronco, but at least everyone is working in good faith. I could have went to another dealership, but since GM and I talked and cleared the air, I decided to work with them in good faith. As a final note, I did get this Friday afternoon which put a big exclamation mark on the whole misery of it LOL I'm going with the Modular bumper on my 22MY order though LOL

  7. There are other resources to be considered, Factory space is one of them. But if I had to bet they would have kept Edge/Nautilus in Oakville before they kept Fusion/MKZ In Hermosillo.

  8. What is that thing for, I don't understand how you you could use that for anything. That won't work for the fifth wheel because it has a ball and a gooseneck goes down to the bed to the ball. I'm going to have to Google that just to figure out how is used (YouTube time!) Gooseneck hitch for lowriders??

  10. "Why can't we have the Focus, Mondeo Wagon, Figo, Puma, Everest yadayada here??" The grass is always greener the other side of the world. I think that at least part of the reason is that we like to look at, and read about Everests, Mondeos, etc, but put up real cash? "Well, uh, The 4Runner is here already and the Sand Fe is about the same size as a Fusion Wagon would be, so..." etc. In spite of all the flag decals in the US, EU & Asian citizens are much more loyal to their domestic brands than those that are foreign in their homeland. Foreign protectionist policies have much to do with that, especially in Asia, so the domestic brands thrive in their home markets. Purely anecdotal, but when I watched the Tour de France bicycle race the s summer, I could see the clear bias toward EU brands among the parking areas vs any drone cam shot of a parking lot here. If the sedan market shares between Ford and EU/Asia had been reverse in the US, we'd have most of the Unobtain-mobiles. Only in an assembly plant parking lot do you see the brand loyalty an OEM dreams about.

  11. And now it’s just getting into the strange zone. It’s just a truck. What’s the threat Jonel? I better not say what I say or what? You will buy a Chevy? Or are you actually threatening me. Get a life weirdo. I hope you are trolling or you need some meds bro.

  12. For sure they did....be interesting to see what impact that has now on the International product line. Sad to see the US left with one heavy truck builder.

  13. While I agree that Ford should never have sold the Heavy Truck division since it was still making a profit (albeit a small one) Jac Nassers' dream of being a multi vehicle line company was a disaster in and of itself. Ford's current direction with their product lines is a prudent one that places profit per vehicle over sheer production numbers. The 'chip shortage" is a stumbling block for sure but in time, Ford's product offerings will be both profitable and sustainable as the market moves toward "greener" choices.

  14. Trucks ride better with factory 18's and look better with factory 20's. If you go aftermarket with a lift kit, they recommend 17s or 18s for the ride quality. I like to run the factory 20s with the Michelin tires and buy takeoffs to replace them.

  15. It’s clever coercion too, avoid import tax by building locally but profit is split with local Chinese partner who also supplies labor to build in plants paid for by Ford……. everywhere automakers turn in China they bump up against another face of the CCCP.

  16. You’re so right! When they started building the Edge over there albeit a 7 seat version a lot of people here figured the Nautilus would eventually be built there. The Chinese had stringent quality policies with us and they complained about the paint quality fit and finish etc. Like you said it was all part of their game plan to get production localized over there. Of course Ford obliged as China is a massive market.

  17. Always seems like that is the logic when we talk about Ford and anything but light duty. And a diverse product mix never seems to enter in to the picture. While there is no doubt that ROI has to be a consideration -and once again my broken record speech- how much would it cost to come up with a few more options for 650/750 that would generate some incremental sales-again I'm not a dreamer who thinks a return to class 8 is in the cards . And to what extent does being a provider up to class 7, make Ford more attractive for buyers when it comes to light duty?? Interesting that GM is back into class 4-6-including vehicles that are outsourced. And as some have reported on this site, in all likelihood will be soon back in class 7.

  18. I wasn't told when I just seen it on my order sheet after I asked for a copy to verify everything was correct so I don't get a misordered truck and told sorry you can wait another 6 months to a year to get the correct one. It has already ruined my new truck experience there is no fixing that without some exceptional customer service from the dealership. That is also already on a bad start from lies from the start. I'm not upset with you at all. This is all just a discussion.

  19. FWIW, The equipment I use every day is made right here at home. And just like everyone else we are still facing supply chain issues. Some of the internal components are made by other manufacturers/suppliers and they have their own challenges to overcome, And so on…. Whether steel, plastics, precursors for other processes, labor shortage or whatever, everyone is doing the best they can in a difficult time. This won’t be over soon and about all any of us can do is grit our teeth and keep on making the best of what we do have. Now, it’s time to get back to speculating on our delivery dates. ?

  20. Do you really think it would be as high as 30%? As tight as they like to run manpower even 2% could cause major problems. With everything going on I think they are going to stay quiet on the matter as long as they can until the government forces their hand.

  21. I'm one of the old orders from when they first opened the order banks. My only hold up is the spray in bedliner. So I don't feel the same with them doing good. I've not had a truck for over 6 months now. New orders shouldn't be getting spray in liners until older orderes got it first.. What happened to first come first serve. It's been a horrible first experience with ford. The entire process. I'm even at a priority 02.

  22. That’s to be expected when they’re pushing for local production, everything the Chinese do is about capturing as much of the business activity as possible, things like production, labor, parts supply and splitting profit with foreign brands…..and most companies are happy to do that. Ironically, most of China’s domestic brands haven’t advanced to active exporters like the Chinese bosses had hoped.

  23. I will only post information received from Ford, distributed to Ford dealerships or from Ford sources considered to be highly credible. While information posted by others may prove accurate at a later date, I have no desire in getting into a discussion on information I consider, at least initially, to be speculation or highly questionable that may have been posted to further a personal agenda. FYI... 2022MY Super Duty scheduling for next week will be for production the week of 11/22/2021. The full Production Week Scheduling Information will be posted later.

  24. Thanks for pointing out the other flank of Ford's failing market abandonment strategy. Kinda hard for Ford to be taken seriously as a truck maker when your biggest truck can't even handle an Interstate legal limit load, never mind the Michigan trains that Louisvilles easily handled. And from a practical point of view, it's pretty hard for dealers to bid on fleet orders for both single and tandem drive trucks when the biggest thing you've got is the F750!

  25. I think the barn door option RAM has is far more useful than a tailgate within a tailgate. I always have a ball mount in my hitch and the risk of smashing my tailgate into that ball mount is a deal breaker for me.

  31. If those car buyers are going to other brands, it’s not really registering as an increase for competitors, as those sales decline too. I think the truth is that people are exiting the sedan market, be that their last car (retiring) or moving on to trucks and utilities. And Ford is comfortable doing that, they want to encourage buyers into the vehicles they want to build.

  32. I know everyone has already said it, but the B&W Companion is the way to go. It is well built, and easy to adjust to the desired height. In regards to removal/Installation, it is very simple, the only downside is the weight of it. Personally I just leave it in the bed unless I know I am going to need my entire bed to haul something.

  33. My sales guy and vehicle ordering manager made a comment that it could be Nov next year. But honestly it’s anyone’s guessing game. My brother-in-law is in the chip business and explained to me that when Covid hit the car dealerships stopped ordering chips and companies like his picked up the chip orders for their products (like vacuums) thus taking away inventory from places like Ford to ask for. He said too many products these days are using chip, the same chips needed for vehicles and the manufacturing plants can’t keep up w the volume of orders. They can only produce so much and when other companies like my brother-in-law’s picked up the orders the car companies weren’t asking for, it’s made it more challenging for car companies to get the amount they need. If that makes sense.

  35. We've discussed it before on various threads, but a problem I have with current reliability stats - whether it be JD Power or CR, etc. - is they seem to still give equivalent values to "I couldn't figure out how to connect my phone with bluetooth" and "my transmission exploded on the highway and I was stranded". One issue is an annoyance, the other leaves the vehicle undrivable, and those should not be equal.

  36. I have leds in my 2019 Ram 2500. I love them. But I didn’t add them to my F350 order because it’s not a 4 thousand dollar upgrade. I’ll add morimotos if I need to go led. The lariat ultimate just isn’t for me. Honestly Ford is way behind on some of their “upgrades” compared to Ram. Push button start is not an upgrade in 2021. It’s standard on most cars. The led package should be offered for all packages. If it were a thousand I’d get it. But this thread asked if it was “worth” the upgrade. I do not believe you get 4 grand worth by going with the leds. The rest seems like filler.

  37. I have spoken to many people and read many reviews and come to the conclusion the B&W Companion is the way to go for ease of installation, Ease of use and also for quiet operation on the road towing.

  38. Have you had problems with your Lincolns? By your statements it doesn’t sound like it. Sounds like you just read something about them being “not reliable.” So if I have this right - you’re going to switch to another brand when you’ve had no issues and presumably enjoyed the product (I assume you have if you’ve bought 5 consecutively) because some report said you might statistically have 1.something problems instead of 1 problem per 100 vehicles? I’m not understanding that logic.

  40. I only tow utility trailers, so some of the comments about how these hitches work with RVs are beyond me. I've had a couple Reese hitches, and I wouldn't buy them again. It's often very hard to disconnect (lately I've been using a hammer). This is on smooth concrete in a shop- it's even tougher on rough ground. Many of the guys I work with use Curt hitches, and they're very happy with them.

  41. I ordered B&W based on discussion with friends that tow 5th wheels. There are people that love the Anderson due to it's light weight, but a good friend showed my a bunch of photos where the Anderson literally collapsed in accidents. His point struck harmony with me, are you going to depend on and bet your life of that hitch holding in a bad accident? He was in an accident with with work 18 wheeler, where he was forced into a ditch and immediately stopped. He said, can you imagine that hitch holding up in the type of accident he had?

  42. What Ford has historically done in the past doesn't really apply to the current situation. Before he moved to Ford, Alan Mullaly coined a phrase when he was at Boeing called a "paradigm shift". So just since Ford hasn't historically opened up the Ford.com until later in the year really has no bearing to the current situation. You cannot order a 2021 Ford anymore. There's long threads on this website of people trying to track or order 2022 Fords. Ford needs to adjust to this reality. People are managing to order buy Fords in spite of the lack of help from Ford itself. Ford management needs a Paradigm shift.
