The first Mustang I'd actually buy! :)

Although, those headlights aren't cutting it! They are smaller than the fog lights! At least they are projector style.

Agree on the headlights. I am not a fan of projectors though. There will be alot of hype about the return, and yes, it will be hailed as the end of the Mustang sales crown(of course there has not been any competition). The Mustang will be 5 years old with out any design change. I have a feeling the refresh will be more than up to the Camaro challenge. :stirpot:

I'm still on the fence when it comes to this car. I'm not so sure I dig the over stylized doors and side body panels, GM could have cleaned it up a great deal and still had a very nice car. The rear is mehh, and so far the interior isn't doing much for me. I'd still own one any day of the week over the nasty looking Challenger.

That I agree with. Too me there is just something wrong with the way the point on the front looks.

I've not been a fan of this design. The rear view looks like something from a Japanese anime.

It'll definitely sell to the hardcore GM faithful but beyond that, not so sure...

Those are not production headlights.

I've heard somewhere else that those are just testing headlights, not the production ones. If they are production, they're hideous.

Look at the rear end end on it's very ugly and malproportioned.... I don't like the interior at all... The headlamps are not production spec. Expect them to be as big as the entire housing the make-do projectors are set in.

Nothing about the new Camaro makes me like it more than my new Mustang.... Kinda ironic because when the 1982 Camaro came out I abandoned ship against the stodgy and upright Fox bodied Mustang.

I like it, but one thing that bugs me (and I have noticed it on a lot of cars these days) are how tall they are. I think the new Camaro would look 100% better if it wasn't so upright / tall. If you put this up next to, say, a 1982 Camaro, I bet it would dwarf it in both height and length. These cars aren't supposed to be practical...cut down on the weight by getting rid of the rediculous dimensions.

When I first heard that the Zeta platform is basically getting axed, I was dismayed...but if Alpha manages to make a smaller Camaro without being compact like a Solstice or Sky, I'm all for it. Zeta is way too large for this car.

"Over stylized" is a fancy way of saying what exactly? Oh yeah, nothing. It's words that mean nothing except in your own perception of what you think the car should or shouldn't be. Some people no doubt think the Mustang is "over stylized", whatever that's supposed to mean.

The rear is mehh,

mehh being an official term for what? Oh yeah, nothing. Just more perception.

and so far the interior isn't doing much for me.

I'm not crazy about the interior either and at least you had the presence of mind to state this part as an opinion. But to be honest there's nothing great about the Mustang interior in any fashion either. Between the two, it's 6 of one, a half dozen of the other.

I'd still own one any day of the week over the nasty looking Challenger.

Frankly to me the Challenger and Camro both have more appeal than the stang. Unlike the Mustang, the Challenger actually will have an interior that is well designed.

Ok, now you guys can go back to tooting Fords horn and living the dream.

later.

And your personal opinion is more valid than any of the ones above in what way? This is a site focused on Ford, as you already know. Those of us that like to see the good in Ford and the progress that has been made have little reason to complain as there are countless others on here that will do it for us. I don't see what is wrong with people choosing to prefer Ford. I also don't see whats wrong with people preferring any other brand.

In my opinion the Mustang is much better on the outside than either of the other two. The Challenger looks like it really is from 1970 exterior wise. The Mustang interior is simply OK, and the Challenger, from what I see, will be nothing to write home about either. Oh, and the Camaro looks like crap all the way around.

Meanwhile Mustang sales didn't even break the 8000 mark in February, because it's such a great car. lol

There's nothing wrong with liking Ford. I like some of their stuff too. But fankly this site is one big Ford circle jerk fest. If you guys are for real, you need to get a f***ing life, seriously. It's pathetic.

Meanwhile bitching about 8K sales a month is a bad thing? Thats just under 100K a year for a niche car.

The profile of the Camaro is really nice. The back looks like a model of a Corvette was left in the sun too long, and well, im not diggin the front as much as the concept. i hope its just hte headlights throwing me off, but it just lost something up front. The interior pics from who knows when looked like ass. it was terrible looking. I still prefer the G8 much more all the way around.

The Challenger is nice even though its also a porker, and I await what the new Mustang will look like. Hopefully that didnt grow into too much of a pig.

This site? Its so full of ford hating people that it isn't even funny. Yeah, there are those of us that will always like Ford and defend it, but that is certainly not the case for the entire membership of the site.

this site is about 60/40 between pro Ford/anti Ford

you need to get a life and type on an automotive forum of the automobiles that you like, not bash us because we like Ford

saying that....i for some odd reason like those headlights, and it does look mean in black

cheerleaders is used as much in this forum as socialists is used in US media

Restraint can be a wonderful thing. I can understand how it would elude you, though.

I hope you buy several new Camaros. That will teach us.

Its not a very good looking car to me. Its weird how they took a few straight sharp lines like the front clip and rear and then used round pregnant woman rear fenders, cartoonie looking. The halo lights around the gauges are sweet but the hvac control knobs look like the volume knob on a sony bookshelf radio to me.

That rear end is really rough looking, caddy xlr comes to mind, its not working for me one bit. I wanted to like the new mustang and I do but dont plan on owning one anytime, its just too damn big of a car. I think they look nicer, cleaner, more proportioned than the camaro though. Keeping in mind this is MY opionion on a FORD website, im not up for debating or aguing what I think.

Hmmm...and what other coupe on the market even came CLOSE to 8000 units last month? Just under 100K is pretty incredible for a "niche car", don't you think? Fact is, we've been spoiled by the SUCCESS of the S197 so badly that when sales become "very good" instead of "holy shit they can't build enough" it starts looks like a disappointment.

I think out of the Mustang, Challenger, and Camaro, the Camaro is the most cartoony of the three. All the GM fans talk about how the Mustang is too retro, but proportionally it was done much better than the other two. Don't get me wrong, I like both the Challenger and Camaro, but both cars are too big and "overstylized" is a good term to describe them. The pointy nose, concave rear, and big hips on the Camaro are too much. The Mustang is more restrained, which will wear better over time.
