Loathsome Cars

Recommended Posts

Although with Bimmers, particularly the 3-Series, Ive noticed belong to the more arrogant aggresive idiots on the road, but I have no issues throwing my car at them if they think of cutting me off, so sometimes you gotta put them in check.

Sorry about cutting you off the other day then.....just kidding.

I hope you know not ALL 3-series drivers are like that

I personally dislike VW because I've never seen such an unreliable POS (other than a Kia), and because personally I had 12 friends who have had them since 98 on, and all had massive problems with their vehicles. I grew tired of fighting with the dealership to get anything resolved...I did promise them NONE of them would ever buy another one again, and luckily non have after that experience. So whenever I see one, In my mind, I'm imagining it blowing up, or the poor sucker just getting fisted.

dont forget vw's bigger bro, audi, they are such pos. i dont dislike kias because they're cheap and when they break you can basically throw away that 6k rio, not quite as easy with a 25k jetta/rabbit

The only vehicle that I have ever hated was the 2007 Mazda CX-9 GT I owned for less than four months. It was the most uncomfortable and annoying vehicle I have ever owned....

I was about to lemon law it, but another Mazda dealer who also owns a Ford Dealership offered me a great deal on a loaded AWD Edge SEL Plus. After my original dealer refused to help ( or really even discuss my problems ) I took the vehicle to this dealer. They determined that the vehicle would need new set of seats ( mine were made wrong ) and a new transmission to solve my problems, but MAZDA REFUSED TO WARRANTY ANY OF IT. They send a little kid who looked at it for five minutes and drove it around the parking lot and said nothing was wrong with it. I honestly think the service manager got more mad at the kid than I did.

I still lost about 2K overall on the trade, but it was well worth getting rid of that damn CX-9. The dealer felt bad that Mazda refused to help me in any way and he threw in a Ford 100K mile Four year extended warranty for free and free oil changes for the four years. ( I can only keep a vehicle for four years on my business )

Needless to say this dealer will almost certianly get my business in three years...

Of course I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER MAZDA.....PERIOD....

As for the original dealer, well they are already out of business....

I loathe the following:

Dodge Avenger and Caliber

Chrysler Sebring

Ford Focus

Honda CR-V

While I don't agree with the last two on your list, I wholly agree with the first two.

Having driven both, they are probably the worst pieces of s*** I've ever driven. I fail to see why it took until the 31st post for someone to mention them.

Come to think of it, I have driven an Avenger. If the horrible quality and design of the interior wasn't bad enough to begin with, the drive itself was horrible too.

Cadillac Escalade and Lincoln Navigator. They represent everything wrong with this country:

- obese

- gluttonous

- ostentatious

- what one writer called "openly scornful of the common good"

Nothing worse than a single-occupant 'Slade on the freeway at rush hour with a 'Bush / Cheney' sticker on it, being driven by a grey-haired empty-nester in a suit (i.e. someone with absolutely no use for such a vehicle other than to show the world that he's got a lot of money, he needs a big cushy seat for his double-wide ass, and he doesn't give a shit about the environment, the traffic, or somebody else's kid getting killed in an oil war).

out here its the ghetto wannabes that have 22s - 28s on them bumping some sort of rap music while cutting in and out of traffic.

I see more of those types driving them than anything else, and ive never seen a Bush sticker on one either. Thats more of a Suburban kind of thing, Escalades and Navigators around here at least are the cars of thugster G Unit types that leased it and usually have a large dent somewhere on the vehicle.

More or less any import but mostly Jap cars, One car in particular is the Prius as the driver is usually some tree hugging animal loving liberal fool that thinks it's cool to do 45 on the highway ( until the high beams come on and they have 3 tons of detriot iron behind them). Also any import with a proud to be an American sticker on the back will get me yelling out the window, Also there is one particular lady of Asian decent who took offense to my imports suck sticker once who I proceded to inform to move to Japan if she had a problem. Or maybe it was the Insight driver who told me it was a sin to drive such a big truck while I was filling my truck once? Or maybe it was the global whining sticker that got to her? Or the NRA lifetime member sticker?

Hands down, I hate the Prius more than any vehicle on the road. But, more than that - I hate the misconceptions about the vehicle. People where I work think it is saving the planet from imminent doom. It's all a bunch of male bovine fecal matter. (I work in education, no surprise there that they love Prius and hate domestics - heck, union reps pay to send us BS in the mail about how every liberal politician is going to save our job and our education system. I'd rather lose my job than listen to anymore of that nonsense. I'd rather it if the education system didn't tell us who to vote for either ... it's a personal choice, and they shouldn't have any say in it.)

Other vehicles I disdain:

Toyota Yaris, Toyota Tundra (hands down the truck I hate more than anything!), or any other Toyota in general ...

It's pretty judgmental to assume that someone driving an Escalade doesn't care about the environment or people getting killed. People who drive Priuses give off the image of caring about the environment, but in fact, if you look at total carbon emissions (if you believe that is causing climate problems, which I do not), an Escalade emits less cabron over its lifetime than a Prius does when you consider the end-to-end lifecycle. The vehicle you drive might give off an image of how you feel about issues, but it doesn't necessarily indicate how you feel about issues in the political sphere. Example: Barrack O'bama claims he cares about the environment and believes in global warming, yet he drove a Chrysler 300C prior to being called out on it. Now, for image purposes, he is driving a Ford Escape hybrid. I'm willing to bet the Escape Hybrid suffers from the same emission problems that the Prius does.

Also, while you are upset about the oil war, let me put something in perspective for you:

Total Iraq casualties: 4155 since 3/19/03

Traffic casualties in United States: over 40,000 per year

It's not exactly something that we think about, but driving around in our own country isn't all that much safer than being in Iraq ... there are a lot of idiots on our road to make our highways as dangerous as Iraq. You can get killed anywhere, anytime ... Iraq isn't the only thing killing our men and women. Two people I have known through association of friends I've lost to hit and run accidents in the past month. One was riding a bike and she got hit by a vehicle going 45 mph. The other was confined to a wheelchair and got hit by a vehicle going 25 mph while crossing through a yield to pedestrian crosswalk. Vehicle never slowed. People know that Iraq is dangerous when they go there. What they don't realize is that our country is just as dangerous at many times ... you're only as safe as your environment lets you be.

Wow.... a LOT of Hyundai / Kia haters on here. Imagine THAT! :shades:

If they're hitting that kind of nerve with so many of you, they must have started doing SOMETHING right, along the way.

I'm sure they're happy while reading your sentiments. Just remember to keep those knives and axes sharpened! Don't forget the Chinese will soon be coming. Then we'll ALL have someone we can pick on TOGETHER! Heh heh.

Actually if folks are talking about how they loathe something, I doubt it's because something was done right.

I'd like to add the Mitsubshi Eclipse and Dodge Charger.

I'm going to include the Aztek. (no explanation necessary, I hope)

It may be more the design department of these cars, but really anything that's comes with an "A" or "H" badge (Acura or Honda) I loathe design wise at least.

Sorry Mike, but I disagree.

The comments on here against H/K were "blanket" statements. No particular vehicle was named.

That said, if the poster believes that the entire vehicle lines of these two makers are equally "loathsome", then the poster is simply posting personal vitriol that has nothing to do with whether H/K vehicles as a group truly deserve to be loathed.

For example....

Honda Element - loathsome

Honda Corp as a whole - Not loathsome

Civilian Hummers - loathsome

GM as a whole - Not loathsome

You get my point.

Had anyone posted "I just despise the Hyundai Accent", or "The Kia Amanti looks like a Mercury Topaz that swallowed an air hose!", then I'd tend to agree with you.

However, H/K's entire lineups cannot be objectively "loathed" by someone, without that person displaying their ignorance, bias, or own personal insecurities.

Thus the logic behind my original statement that H/K must be starting to be successful enough with auto purchasers (aka: "doing something right") to register on the blanket loathing spectrum of the traditional Big 3 types (read: insecure) who post on here.

The dealer makes all the difference. The Ford Dealer treated you right and earned your business. My aunt and uncle had a similar experience with a Nissan Pathfinder they leased. The thing was junk and the transmission went out at 36k just near the end of the lease. Nissan wouldn't help but the dealer in their new town made it right with a great deal on a Murano. This dealer didn't even lease the Pathfinder and didn't have to do anything for them at all. They were considering an Edge but the deal they got on turning in the Pathfinder without charge for the transmission rebuild and a discount on the Murano was too good to pass up.

Could add a few Fords to the list, but l don't hate Ford. Thats why maybe its taken 31st post to do so.

Maybe if somebody started a greatest much loved/loathsome Fords thread, Ford might get some positive/negative feedback from it on what Ford loving folk do/don't like.

You're rather conservative to be a member of one the few true socialist systems in America. A few mailings give your union a say in whom you vote for? It seems like you have stronger convictions than that.

That said, I loathe any car that is about image. That includes the Prius (especially when driven at 80 mph), luxury suvs, and most entry level German cars. Buy a car because it performs well, it's convenient, it's comfortable, it's efficient, or it's fun to drive. Never drive a car because it says something about you.

Personally, anyone that drives a car, I see them as "not caring about the environment"...if someone truely did, they would find alternatives like biking or walking. BUT realistically, most of us need vehicles anyways, so this is totally irrelevant.

Although I got a laugh out of a Prius with a "Sports Package" (I think it was an aftermarket add on)...Sport= Prius, just doesn't sound right. It was comical to see that though.
