blksn8k2
According to the caradvice.com article this mule also has rear coil springs and a Watts link similar to the Everest. Look out Colorado ZR2...your gonna need more horsies. http://www.caradvice.com.au/558226/2019-ford-ranger-raptor-v6-this-is-the-ute-youve-been-waiting-for/ Edited June 12, 2017 by blksn8k2

blksn8k2
The tread on the underneath spare looks like BFG KO2s, the same tires used on the big Raptor.
tbone
It sure looks like it might be a raptorized Ranger. It looks like it bares some similarities in key areas similar to my 2017.
pictor
While I have always loved the Raptor it was just too much truck for the city,(even though there is one parked right down the street). If this holds true to form, the ranger raptor would be a good candidate to replace the escape on the next go around.
Pioneer
If this comes with the 2.7L I might have to forget about the F-150 I want to order in the next few tears.
MN12Fan
In keeping with the prehistoric animal naming convention, how about calling it Ranger Sabertooth?

I would guess this would probably get the Lincoln 3.0L TT. I would also expect a Diesel for World markets too.
rmc523
In keeping with the prehistoric animal naming convention, how about calling it Ranger Sabertooth?Ranger Rex? Guess that sounds like Ranger Wrecks. T-Rex didn't seem to flow well, though in branding they'd call it "Ford T-Rex" like they do with Raptor. If they ever did a Super Duty, it could be the Mammoth haha. Edited June 13, 2017 by rmc523
J-150
In keeping with the prehistoric animal naming convention, how about calling it Ranger Sabertooth? A Raptor is a bird of prey, such as an eagle, hawk or falcon. A VELOCIraptor is a dinosaur.
atomcat68
A Raptor is a bird of prey, such as an eagle, hawk or falcon. A VELOCIraptor is a dinosaur. And to add insult to injury, the velociraptor is very far from what was portrayed in the movies. It was the size of a turkey.

blksn8k2
Hennessey already uses the name VelociRaptor on their modified F-150 Raptor: http://hennesseyperformance.com/vehicles/ford/f-150-raptor/2017-ford-f-150-raptor/ Wasn't there some speculation that "Raptor" would become its own brand for high performance off-road vehicles, kind of like the old SVT group? If that happens then they could use the name on the F-150, Ranger, Bronco, etc.
blksn8k2
I would guess this would probably get the Lincoln 3.0L TT. I would also expect a Diesel for World markets too. The 2.7 EB would be more than good enough for me, especially once they add port injection on the 2018 version as planned in the F-150. As it is, the 1st gen 2.7 has similar output to the old 5.4L 3V which used to be the top-of-the-line in the F-150. I would also be happy with that engine in an FX4 model of the Ranger. Not sure I would need or want all the extra cost stuff that would probably come with a true Raptor version, assuming it would be equipped similar to an F-150 Raptor. A Raptor version would probably have a lower tow rating as well which is something I would have to take into consideration. I would also be surprised if a Raptor version is available in the first year of production.
bzcat
Raptor is the name for F-150. Like Cobra is for Mustang. If this is a true SVT vehicle then it will probably have a new name.
blksn8k2
Did anyone try reading any of the comments after that Aussie article? A lot of name calling and bashing each other and not much else. And I used to think people got out of control here!
snooter
Be interesting to see where this raptor lite rig ends up..my biggest bitch with raptor is its not much of a trail runner and more orientated to desert which is its purposes...i would like to see ford expand the lil raptor into more tradtional yoda off road venues and not just limit its capabilities to desert running...
