Holy Overanalysis and Overreaction Batman! 😎

I think that comes from the extremely swept back nature of the roofline. Geometrically this shrinks the ratio of height to body. I had trouble wrapping my head around it at first, but honestly looking at a Mazda CX-50 really clears up any concerns on that. It’s a form that works, it is cool, low to the ground, but it is still identifiably a trucky-truck. It is going to hinge on the fascia/grille styling we currently can’t see. If it looks like the F-150 Lightning with no lightbar, or the Expedition right next to it, then it will probably work IMO. The latter would be better.

Yeah, it's odd that they'd move on from that when they were one of the first ones to do it. Especially since competitors like Expy/Navigator just debuted it too. I also found an article about it funny saying one of the reasons they moved on from it was a claim that many customers didn't even know it was there? not sure how that's possible lol.

Well, this adds fuel to the fire of the F-100 (or Ranger) being there - makes sense that they'd use steel to save costs.

Interesting comment in today's Autoline Daily that the F-150 EREV will be made of steel, not aluminum. Ram is supposed to come out with a range extender pickup this year. Ford is said to be working on a steel-bodied F-150 EREV at its Tennessee Truck Plant. EREVs are thought to be the perfect EV technology for full-size pickups and SUVs because you can drive or tow all day long and never worry about range anxiety.

Yeah. I will say I've gone on record saying I really liked this shape under the tarp. So if that's it, I'm a fan even if it's not super convenient. Looks low, wide, and sleek. You get a better sense of the overall proportions and shape because it's not covered up in padding. But ford could have made changes and variations to this design since. Time will tell.
