I don't disagree, there's undeniable appeal to the idea of a 4 door truck, at least for me as someone who needs it. But it's possible they're worried that if they come out with a 4 door smaller truck in the 25-30k market that it'll be too close to the maverick, even if it's an EV and the mav is just a hybrid.
Cadillac’s Escalade is literally miles ahead of the Lincoln Navigator and it shows in sales.
Lincoln really needs to go back to the drawing board with both Navigator and Aviator and do much better
in terms of ride and interior feel, the areas where Cadillac seems to be a generation ahead of Lincoln.
Here’s a thought regarding Lincoln LT, imagine CD6 based Explorer Sport Trac and Lincoln LT version
I think that’s more in keeping with Lincoln buyers expectations of a pickup, a point of difference with Cadillac?
I recently read that Borg purchased a new Nautilus and declared the best Lincoln he’s owned in recent years
because it feels and drives like a Lincoln’s should. pretty sure that others on this forum have had a simliar
experience with Nautilus so maybe Ford needs to find a way for local manufacture, maybe a new C2 plant.
I still see two door Rangers used by auto parts companies, exterminators, grounds maintenance for large corporate campuses, etc. A two door small truck like this might appeal to fleet buyers or small business owners.
Yes and by that, free up designs so that they are not as controlled by suppliers and all their software modules.
A reset needs to take place where Ford takes control of its vehicle designs including software interface,
it must not continue with suppliers having so much control over costs and delivery conditions/constraints.
not entirely. I’m willing to bet the doors, swing gate, floor pan(s) and dash (firewall) could all be used for both Bronco and Lincoln, not to mention the front structure pieces already shared between Ranger and Bronco.
Right but more often then not a 4 door sells better then its 2 door counterpart (Wrangler and Bronco for example), so your limiting your potential for a more limited market.
But I guess it all depends on what they want or try to accomplish with it...and maybe a 4 door is in the works.
Do you really think the demand is there for a Lincoln Bronco that costs about that?
The Braptor is basically a parts bin that doesn't have a major development costs over the standard Bronco
A Lincoln Bronco would require whole new stampings and interior
