Penske buys diesel class 6, U-Haul does not. Ford had a good customer in U-Haul, since GM dropped the gasoline TopKick/Kodiak Ford had U-Haul's class 6 sales all to themselves.

It is typically lowest price wins which is what probably happened with U-Haul and their yearly order...lets hope Ford doesn't take that one laying down and puts up a fight for the sale. Looks like International has that "contract" right now.... -
The surprise is that this review claims to be Best Rugged Mid-Size SUV Mega Comparison, yet the ratings are more appropriate for Best Unibody Shopping Mall Crawler for People Who Want It to Look Rugged.

I’m looking forward to real world towing tests with the Ram REEV. My gut tells me you will have to accept 45ish MPH average top speed when towing that 5th wheel with a depleted battery. I hope I’m proven wrong but there are physical laws in play that software and a 3.6 (non-turbo) cannot overcome.

why don’t they just become Mopar guys already. Like what’s the point here, we know they haven’t been some lifelong crabby enthusiast for the Bronco its been gone for 20 years.

And I'm OK with having a shorter towing range as long as I get that EV experience when the gas motor kicks in. That's when the efficiency becomes a big thing. Much of our camping right now is 120 miles from home. 75 miles of EV-only range would be perfectly fine. So I buy gas for 45 miles. I charge when we're there, then buy gas for 45 miles home. I'm good with that. Our next rig is likely going to be a truck camper on an F550, and we plan to go out west and do considerable boondocking. Having an EREV there would be amazing! You don't need 1200 Ah of battery storage in the camper, you just plug into the truck. When the battery gets low, the engine fires up, charges the battery, and life is good! No need to pack a generator along with you either. Would be even better if you can plug the truck into the camper to charge the truck when the sun is shining and the solar panels are producing power. So, yeah, I could see many uses for an EREV in a truck. Sadly, it'll likely be a long time before we see it in something like an F550. -
Yea, exactly. I think Ford, with its Universal Electric Vehicle Platform and Production System, has a big competitive advantage in terms of cost control versus anything the big shots at Stellantis announced yesterday.

With GM discontinuing medium-heavy, might Penske Rental go to Ford for their 6-7s? -

I'm agreeing with you-but at the same time there is a lot of inherent mass against EV adaption because of its inherent issues that a decent amount of people can't or won't deal with. Even if you could buy an EV cheaper then say a gas powered product, I think people (at least in the USA) will still buy the gas/Hybrid/EREV product in most product categories.
