In the grand scheme of things, how much did the performance orientated Cadillac do to actually improve their market share? It made a good copy in car magazines, but didn't really move the needle sales wise.
The Luxury market is fickle
Hi Steve. I'm only replying since you quoted my last reply. 😉
Again, I understand what you are saying and wish. However, akirby perfectly described just the type of situation I referred to when I stated "...for reasons of passenger security/safety, Lincoln/Ford vehicles do not offer an "Unlock on Park" option in the factory settings...". That is only one of many scenarios when your wife, other passengers, or yourself, would wind up with worse than the inconvenience of a missed button or broken nail.
Yes, it is just software (or could include some hardware to make the change). And I am sure (or at least assume) a software code/guru could make the necessary changes. However, that ain't none of us so far. 🙃😉
Stay safe and good luck! 🍻
Lincoln needs something more interesting and exciting than another front-drive sedan. Maybe they need to dip their toes into performance. How about a supercharged 6.8L in the Navigator? lol
I once had 50 1986 Thunderbirds delivered OTD in 3 weeks! The regional office had extra production available going into Balance Out and offered the extra units to us because we were one of the top 10 Thunderbird Dealers in the country. I placed the orders (mix of T'Bird models including Turbo Coupes, powertrains and options) within 2 hours. I called the regional office as soon as the orders were submitted and they scheduled them instantly for production the following week. Those were the days!
What if you pulled up to a convenience store and were planning to wait for some sketchy folks to leave but your doors unlocked automatically and somebody opened the door and grabbed your wife? This way they don’t unlock u til you signal it’s time to get out by opening your is just Ford trying to keep you safe and CYA.
Is it really that hard to find the unlock button?
I would think they’d be the same or close enough, but hard to say for sure.
We had a 2003 Aviator that we liked a lot but ended up trading it on an edge limited in 2008. I got to see the production model early in a focus session where they let us drive it against a X5 and a Honda Pilot.
