  1. It's finally a done deal!! 174 days since placing my order in July 2021 for my F-250 Lariat SCSB with 5th wheel prep, spray-in bedliner, HCTT, UTT and Lariat Value (the only change I made to the order was changed the color from Antimatter to Atlas about a week after I ordered). The stealership agreed to "discount" the price increases which meant they didn't get added into the taxable total and corrected the truck cost for my purposes. Then we arm-wrestled over the trade value until reaching a less-than-desirable number for me. And eventually on Jan 19th I signed the paperwork and took it home. After driving it 15 miles to get to my house and with only 36 miles on the meter, I discovered the rear parking brake cable half rubbed through on the leaf spring and the water separator drain plug leaking diesel fuel on my garage floor. Good times!! Thought I would share a couple of pics. Gotta love that Atlas Blue!!!

  3. Sit back, be patient. I ordered May 2021. My build date constantly shifted, with no explanation from Ford or my dealer. This forum was my only clue as to the possible causes of the delays. Just today, I received notification that my truck has been built, and is awaiting final inspection and transportation to my dealer. It's been a frustratingly long, uncertain wait. You may not have to go through that, but if you do, you gotta be patient, and realize that currently there is a lot of crap standing between you and your truck. Ford is shoveling that crap as fast as they can, but they're at the mercy of the various supply chain issues. Good luck!

  5. This forum is for Ford employees and retirees only and the only order tracking is in the tracking subforum which you don’t qualify for yet. Only your dealer and their zone rep can determine why yours hasn’t been built and what to do about it. Whining about it here over and over won’t help.

  6. I’ve bought Ford trucks all of my life, and it would be a very difficult decision for me to purchase a different brand of truck, but for the first time in my life the thought is entering my mind. I am seriously getting tired of all the decontenting going on with their vehicles. It makes absolutely no sense to remove things that the user interfaces with, and are routinely noticeable. As you mentioned with the rear door touch keyless entry. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve attempted to open the door and then have to move to the front door to get it unlocked and then back to the back door, all while carrying an arm load of crap. It’s funny how my mid range Chevy Traverse work car managers to have touch entry on all of its doors, but my top of the line Superduty can’t. I really appreciated the lack of heated windshield wiper park during this last snowstorm a couple days ago where my wipers kept on freezing up, and your getting out at stop lights clacking them on the window. I really enjoy when the water bottles fall out of the cup holders on the rear of the center console because they removed the detents or whatever you want to call them that put pressure on the bottles to hold them in place. Or what about the missing glove box light so you can find things in the dark, or the nice owners manual sleeve that kept things organized. Everybody likes a mask in their glove box. How about the plastic handle release that used to be on the rear seat that you could used to lower it, but was replaced with a cloth strap on the side that is more cumbersome. Of course I previously mentioned the cup holder lights that I like, which no longer have lights. The ability to change the ambient light color…who needs that? But hey, who will ever notice these features are missing or even care? It might be time to take a stroll through the Ram or GMC dealership to see if they are removing features, or if they are actually offering options people want. The TRX is a pretty bad ass truck and Ford couldn’t be bothered by adding one additional horsepower or torque increase on their new gen 3 Raptor. The TRX can even be had For below MSRP, where I can’t even get a build date on the Raptor. It would be nice if Ford actually listened to customers once in a while. I probably missed a few things, but the rant is over for now.

  8. Just wanted to say thank you to everyone on the forum that helped provide information about my build during these strange times. Here’s my build summary after 10 months and 11 days of waiting. Don’t worry, they will build it. ordered 3/18 accepted 3/19 vin generated 6/4 build scheduled and was rescheduled 6x window sticker generated 12/6 Order sent to plant 12/9 accepted by plant and scheduled 12/13 truck built 12/21 loaded on rail car 12/22 shipped from plant by rail 12/23 arrived at rail transfer yard 12/25 unloaded from rail car 12/27-12/28 picked up by truck carrier 12/29 delivered to dealership 12/29 Overall very impressive truck. Minor quality issues dealership is fixing today and I’ll pick it up tonight. This truck was a big deal for me since my previous F350 was stolen while I was away from home working, right before Christmas, and I’ve been without my heavy work truck over a year now. The wait for it was difficult because I had to turn away work opportunities. I wanted the options I selected and would not compromise since it’s replacement for what I had. The big hold up was adaptive steering, 5th wheel prep and any number of other issues, but it’s over now and I can focus on setting this beauty up to get new work done. Happy new year!

  9. The window sticker is usually available about 1 week before the truck is built. However, the dealer should also have a build day

  10. LOL, I liked the band-aid part, yeah, I'd probably do the same too, even if the cable rubbed into two, it wouldn't be a safety issue for driving, good luck and keep us posted on what you find out.

  11. It did make it to Kent WA but I was told it didn’t make the ship to Alaska. Hoping it makes Tuesdays and I might get to take possession in about 9 days.

  12. If you’re a priority 2 then you’re either stuck behind a bunch of older priority 2s or you have some unique part that isn’t available. It’s not just the big items mentioned here. It’s not an allocation issue it’s a build issue. And don’t let the dealer stonewall you - go to the sale mgr and the GM if necessary.

  13. Agree with the steal part and definitely hoping the Service Dept has their wits about them. Truck is going in to get ceramic coated and windows tinted on Monday at a different facility then when I pick it up mid-week it goes back to the dealer for the repairs. Hopefully, I might actually get to use my truck by the end of January! ? Has your truck made it to Washington yet?

  14. I just heard that Ford Credit is starting a new program where established Ford Credit customers in good standing for at least 10 months will be able to buy any new Ford vehicle with 0% financing no matter what interest rates are at any point in time saving Ford customers thousands of dollars. Nice perk.

  15. My guess is the adaptive steering is the major holdup with Limited trim since it's the one option you can't delete. Since the volume for that option has dwindled to very low quantities that must be impacting suppliers as they probably lose discounts with low volumes. Suppliers must be having a hard time delivering them for some reason otherwise it wouldn't create a 29-week delay. Good luck but you can always change your order to a trim where Adaptive steering is optional and probably get it built in a few months.

  16. More movement by GM on the EV front. The Orion plant will be announced as an EV plant with battery assembly added: The greenfield battery plant will supply 2 other GM EV plants: This is another indicator of the blueprint the OEMs will follow for EV production, i.e. battery assembly on or nearby EV production. The new battery plant is expected to generate 2,000 jobs itself. https://www.autonews.com/manufacturing/gm-plans-65b-ev-investment-two-michigan-plants?utm_source=breaking-news&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=20220121&utm_content=hero-headline

  20. Mach-E will no longer offer hands-free tailgate starting with those built after 1/3/22. The assumption is this is due to chip shortage. The sensor on my Mach-E is awful anyway, to the point I’ve stopped trying to use it. The one on my Edge is flawless.

  21. Hello JC2014, Short answer, I'd say you may be partially protected since I think prices increased more than once since you ordered, your dealer can honor the original base price due to certain protections mentioned in other threads I think by ice-capades. Longer answer... I placed my order for an F350 SRW CCSB Platinum on Dec 7th and prices increased by $1295 on Dec 8th but I was unaware at the time. I deleted three options on Dec 21 after Ford told dealer I'd have to wait 29 weeks for adaptive steering, spray in bed liner and 5th wheel prep so I deleted those options and got a new build sheet from dealer on Dec 22 and that's when I noticed the base price was increased. I spoke with sales manager, and he said he'd definitely honor the original base price despite salesman saying I had to pay since I changed. On Dec 29, I switched my order to King Ranch all the time staying with Rapid Red. On Jan 4th, I decided to change color from Rapid Red to Antimatter Blue after agonizing over color choices and Ford scheduled for production on Jan 13th. Sales manager says I'm still price protected by $1295 but then again, I'm paying MSRP since my dealer will not accept any discount programs on newly ordered Super Duty trucks. I created a thread earlier that went into more detail... 2022 F350 SRW King Ranch CCSB Anitmatter Blue/Stone Gray - F-Series SuperDuty Forum - Blue Oval Forums

  22. I bought within my means (nicest truck I have ever bought, but mine is not classified as luxury, as many of you guys have)...could have paid cash but doing some calculating and decided not pulling the full amount of truck out of bank. I bought xlt, cost was 54000 after all discounts and fees/taxes ect. I put 27k down financed 27k @2.1% for 5 years payment is 475..I pay 1k a month...will have paid off in about 2 years. The interest paid is minimal compared to what I can make off of 27k more at my disposal... If you make money with money then paying cash for everything is not the best way to do it unless you have massive reserves. If your money does not make more money and it just sits there and you have great savings then cash is best. But more reserves = more income. Everybody's finances are different. Some have millions in savings, some have hundreds of thousands some have tens of k's, some have thousands, and then some retainer to retainer/paycheck to paycheck. Everyone here has a different life story and different levels of income and savings. Some don't finance squat and have everything paid for but have no reserves....others bank it all and there are an infinite number of side roads people are on between or around those. It all depends on how much you make and how you plan, spend and save. I would love to have a king ranch or limited or even better a Hennessey SD, but that takes to much money away for me to make more money....I can't justify it. I am a working man with a small side business and need to be very careful with my spending..... So you have 3 types of consumers. 1. Can afford it with no worrys. (No income for years and need little or no change of lifestyle) 2. Can slowly pay for it with hopes that life does not throw a curve ball. (Maybe few months of no income till they feel the pinch) 3. Can't afford it, (just a few weeks of no income will severely hurt them). But one thing I have observed over the years....you can NEVER judge a book by its cover, the story inside may or may not correspond.

  23. Good luck with your car shopping jcartwright99 sir. Among non-Ford vehicles, avoid Hyundai and Kia if you don't want to pay over MSRP. Demand is so strong on many of their vehicles there's practically a bidding war going on between dealers and customers trying to buy them new. Consumer Reports analyzed new car sales transactions and came up with the 2 lists below. Models that sell for the most over MSRP 2022 Kia Rio 2022 Chevy Spark 2022 Hyundai Venue 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 2022 Kia Telluride 2022 Hyundai Kona Electric 2022 Hyundai Sonata 2022 Kia Sorento 2022 Kia Seltos 2022 Hyundai Tucson 2022 Hyundai Accent 2022 Kia Carnival 2022 Chevy Camaro 2022 Kia K5 2022 Mazda 3 Models that have the biggest discounts off MSRP 2022 Alfa Romeo Stelvio 2022 Ford F-150 2022 Alfa Romeo Giulia 2022 Ram 1500 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 2022 BMW X3 2022 Infiniti QX50 2022 Infiniti Q60 2022 Genesis G70 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L

  26. So getting back on topic with the s650, the running theory is the gt Mike we're seeing is just a camouflaged s550 designed to keep the public occupied while the s650 continues testing on closed courses. Not sure if I believe that, but if people in the know want to chime in, that would be interesting.

  27. 1/5 value trade in, 1/5 down payment and 3/5 low interest finance through Bank of America. It's far more valuable at this time to keep money making money (Stocks, Index Funds, etc) when you can borrow below 3% apr.

  28. Because the 460 was a dog compared to the 7.3. Everything about the 7.3 is designed to be stronger and more reliable than the 460 and the 7.3 has way more HP and torque. Didn't like my 460, love my 7.3.

  30. New to the site, hello all!! I have read through all of the posts and it seems like the only thing that is certain is the uncertainty of the way things are working. I ordered a 22 F350 Platinum in Star White 11/23 and so far nothing but crickets..... Just don't understand why I sold my 2019 F250 and now am riding my harley everywhere. Need something from ford so I know if i will see the truck before Christmas Thoughts or pointers? Resources that will help me find a status? Dealership is a whole bunch of shrugged shoulders, and "I will get back to you after i am done with this customer"

  36. On the contrary the keypad enables phone as key. If your phone dies/breaks/Paak just doesn’t work you can still get home. I haven’t used my key fob since the first week I had my car, but have had to use the code when PAAK wasn’t working (including once when fords servers were down). I also use the Kay pads on all three of my fords frequently when I don’t have my phone on me, for instance when grabbing something out of one of the cars on the driveway.

  37. Just a note of thanks for all the great info and resources here, truly helpful for this first-time 'special order' buyer (but long-time Ford guy). Basically, a modern version of the 2005 XLT that has served me well since new, with a few added luxuries tailored to towing my Escape 5th wheel RV, here's the spec "Confirmed" by Ford late yesterday: F150 4X4 SUPERCAB - 145 INCH WHEELBASE LARIAT SERIES OXFORD WHITE LEATHER BUCKET SEATS W/CONSOLE BAJA TAN EQUIPMENT GROUP 500A .18" MACH-ALUM W/MAGNETIC PKT 3.5L V6 ECOBOOST .275/65R 18 BSW ALL-TERRAIN 3.55 ELECTRONIC LOCK RR AXLE 7050# GVWR PACKAGE FORD CO-PILOT 360 ASSIST 2.0 .CNCTD BLT-IN NAV (3-YR INC) ONBOARD 400W OUTLET AUTO START-STOP REMOVAL MAX TRAILER TOW PACKAGE .INTEGRATED TRAILER BRAKE CONT MIRROR POWER TELE/GLASS/FOLD EXTENDED RANGE 36GAL FUEL TANK BED UTILITY PACKAGE .BOXLINK .POWER TAILGATE .TAILGATE STEP .LED BOX LIGHTING 360-DEGREE CAMERA PACKAGE So, now the patient waiting, No Worries! My 'built for me' Escape trailer was 11 months between order and delivery and I'm very happy with the outcome. I'll be happy with the same result insofar as my new F150. Thanks again Blue Oval Forum for the invaluable assistance ?

  39. The mileage mystery has been solved. In the glove compartment stuck to the window sticker was this little notice. Apparently my truck went for a 14 mile ride around Louisville! And they still delivered it to me with the parking brake cable rubbing on the leaf spring and the water separator drain plug leaking! Total miles on the truck at delivery ended up being 21.8.
