the more I see this maverick, the more I like it. Here’s a red xlt at the link

I completely agree...I thought the first generation looked kinda cheap, but the new Headlights and grills make it look more upscale now.

Not a fan of the price increase. The front-wheel drive XL hybrid starts at $26,295 before destination and delivery. A model that started under $20K 3 years ago!

2025 Ford Maverick adds AWD and towing capacity to hybrid - Autoblog

But the big news is under the skin with the hybrid. The 2.5-liter hybrid four-cylinder engine output is unchanged at 191 horsepower and 155 pound-feet of torque, but it can now be paired with all-wheel drive, a feature Ford said has been in high demand. Going to all-wheel drive also changes the Maverick's rear suspension to the multi-link independent setup used on the turbocharged all-wheel-drive model, rather than the front-drive hybrid's torsion-beam rear end. But the hybrid retains the electronic CVT instead of the eight-speed automatic.

...

There's still more to talk about, though. Ford is now offering some useful towing features as options. They include Pro Trailer Hitch Assist, which will back up your truck to your trailer hitch automatically, and Pro Trailer Backup Assist, which is available to let you steer your truck and trailer via a knob. Both features come on the Lariat and Tremor as standard, and both trims also include adaptive cruise control with lane centering and stop-and-go functions, plus traffic sign recognition.

Damn that is a nice improvement over the current model-though I'm still questioning Ford design/color choices for some of the interior color combos.

Look how they massacred my boy. Those headlights... yikes. The AWD hybrid is a very welcome addition, and I love seeing it in Eruption green, so it's not all bad. I'm hoping in vain for this, but as a '22 hybrid owner, I hope the '25 has higher quality CV axles that can be retroactively added to the older mavericks.

It's one of the few frequent quality issues the maverick has and I'd love to see it go away so I could actually own and enjoy this thing long term.

It kinda works speaking as someone who owns one. I didn't expect it to, when I first saw pics of the maverick interior when it debuted, I was like WTF. But after living with it for close to 2 years, I love it. Well I love how it looks, the rattles everytime the road surface bumps or dips gets frustrating.

It's intense, but so many economy car interiors are just gray and black, lifeless. The maverick interior isn't for everyone, but it definitely has a personality. The materials aren't amazing, but it looks more expensive than it is, I should I say was.

Go back to the 80's and Dealers could order non-standard paint/trim combinations that was a disaster. You'd see blue or green cars, for example, that some Dealer ordered with a red interior! Thankfully, Ford finally dropped the ability to order non-standard combinations.

If you don't feel that the value proposition is there, don't buy one.  Go find another vehicle that better suits your parameters.  The demand for XL Hybrids shows that there are plenty of people who feel the cost is worth it.

I liked the red interior on my Mustang 😊

I’m really happy with this refresh. I think the front looks 100x better, the larger screen is great and so are those wheels on the green one. My only complaint is how cheap the center stack looks now (the part below the ac vents). It kinda looks like an aftermarket insert.ford-maverick-2025.jpg

2025 Ford Maverick Lobo revives the street-oriented sport truck - Autoblog

Not sure why they actually used the Lobo name....I feel it won't resonate.  They also called it "lobo" mode instead of sport mode.  I still think the wheels look terrible.

2025 Ford Maverick Lobo

The last part of the visual transformation starts getting into the mechanical changes. The suspension is lowered and retuned, with the front dropping by half an inch, and the rear by 1.12 inches. The roofline drops by 0.8 inch. But the suspension is just the start. Brakes are upgraded with larger rotors, and up front the Lobo gets the dual-piston brake calipers from the European Ford Focus ST. They're still fitted with more comfort-oriented pads, but Ford representatives noted that this gives owners the more expensive parts up front, and leaves a cheap and easy upgrade on the table for enthusiasts. Another parts-bin upgrade is the steering rack, which uses the gear from the Ford Kuga for a quicker steering ratio than the standard Maverick. The radiator and fan come from the 4K Towing Package, and the transmission gets an oil cooler. That cooler is also connected to a seven-speed automatic transmission not available on other Maverick trims. Finally, a twin-clutch rear differential like on the Tremor is fitted to allow for torque vectoring. In combination with the Lobo drive mode, this helps to significantly reduce understeer under throttle. It also reduces stability control intervention. One of the few things not changed is the engine, which continues with 238 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque.
