rmc523
So basically now you can have the GT look without the GT price. Also, I hate when they describe a feature such as this.... A column-mounted shifter replaces the previous center-mounted dial shifter on all models, freeing up console space. ....and then don't show any photos of it and how they re-used the saved space. They did show this photo, in which you can barely see the left stalk with the wiper controls and the right gear stalk: Unless they also relocated the parking brake and hazard switch and replaced it with a bin (which is possible), I'm not sure how much space is actually being saved.... Here's a photo of the current setup: I wonder if we'll see them move away from the dial in other products going forward?

The 1970s pickup called and they want their column shifter back...lol

I'm sure this will just be an electronic column shifter, which is dumb. I like the dial on our Mach-E, but it is seriously lacking in storage, so if they moved the e-brake and hazards and reclaimed some of that space, I could be OK with it.

T-dubz
I hate the dial shifter so glad to see that go. Hopefully other models will lose it too.

I feel like they also could've moved the parking brake and hazard switches elsewhere and just opened up that entire area.
Alex D.
Ioniq 5 and 6 also have a column shifter for the same reason - to free up console space. This design takes some getting used to initially, but becomes intuitive. Glad to see Ford going this way as well.
Sherminator98
One thing I missed-the starting price for the Mach E base model is only $36K in 2025-that is pretty decent.

Seems like the opposite of every manufacturer and PRNDL setup ever. lol

They've been advertising much better lease deals too now.....though those tend to be the models they don't keep in stock that you won't be able to get anyway. T-dubz
A similarly equipped escape is pretty close to that same price. Ford is also offering free home chargers with installation to sweeten the deal too.

In other words, unlike some brands that talk about making EVs more affordable, but never do, Ford is actually making it happen. At 36k the mach-e is very compelling.

jpd80
If you’re gonna leverage the Mustang brand, shouldn’t all Mach Es have that sportier appearance? If they had their time over, I think Ford would have definitely done Mach E differently…..

The actual starting price for the 2025 Mach-E is $36495 plus the $1995 destination fee for a total of $38490.

If the lease loophole has not been closed, you can effectively get the rebate. Ford finance gets the rebate directly and in turn gives you the savings with a more adventurous residual rate.
