2025 Mustang Mach-E Adds Sportier Looks, Auto Lane Changes and More

Recommended Posts

So basically now you can have the GT look without the GT price.

Also, I hate when they describe a feature such as this....

A column-mounted shifter replaces the previous center-mounted dial shifter on all models, freeing up console space.

....and then don't show any photos of it and how they re-used the saved space.

They did show this photo, in which you can barely see the left stalk with the wiper controls and the right gear stalk:

Unless they also relocated the parking brake and hazard switch and replaced it with a bin (which is possible), I'm not sure how much space is actually being saved....

Here's a photo of the current setup:

I wonder if we'll see them move away from the dial in other products going forward?

The 1970s pickup called and they want their column shifter back...lol

Well, to be fair, all current Super Duties still use the column shifter.  :)

I'm sure this will just be an electronic column shifter, which is dumb.  I like the dial on our Mach-E, but it is seriously lacking in storage, so if they moved the e-brake and hazards and reclaimed some of that space, I could be OK with it.

They have a bunch of pics at the bottom of the media release, and show the new shifter stalk…

Ioniq 5 and 6 also have a column shifter for the same reason - to free up console space. This design takes some getting used to initially, but becomes intuitive. Glad to see Ford going this way as well.

Why on earth did they put Drive in the up position and reverse down on the Hyundai?

Seems like the opposite of every manufacturer and PRNDL setup ever.  lol

One thing I missed-the starting price for the Mach E base model is only $36K in 2025-that is pretty decent.

In other words, unlike some brands that talk about making EVs more affordable, but never do, Ford is actually making it happen. At 36k the mach-e is very compelling.

I'm not in the market for a new vehicle, but if I was, I could be tempted by this price.

If that’s $36k without tax credit, that’s pretty impressive. That would make it sub $30K after a tax credit if you qualify.

While the starting price for the 2025 Mach-E is $3500 less than the 2024 model year, it’s not exactly “36k”.   The actual starting price for the 2025 Mach-E is $36495 plus the $1995 destination fee for a total of $38490.
