Stallantis already tried that with ridiculous price increases on Jeeps and Rams. Jeeps and Rams fill the lots and aren’t selling. Some dealers have 3 model years still sitting on the lots. Short term it made for great profits, but long term it's been a disaster.
Probably but unless you get the 8’ bed which you almost never see that was discontinued as well. Just for the heck of it I did an inventory search and there are 46 SC Lariats 250-350 on lot or on way within 100 miles of me with about half green special order stickers and all $70k plus MSRP.
Sadly someone must have run the numbers and decided that most SC Lariat buyers will deal with a Crew Cab. GM still offer the cab and a half in LT trim (leather & dual zone available) with short bed as an option. Low miles on my 22 so I will drive this one a lot longer than I usually do until I guess I am forced to buy a Chevy. Seems kind of stupid to turn people away for new $75k trucks and turn die hard Ford owners to the competition but I’m sure they ran the numbers.
Two local Ford Dealers sold, or tried to sell, the wrong Power Steering fluid for my nearly new F250.
Point is, this is a real TRUCK, not a passenger car, and it does NOT use power steering FLUID, it uses Ford Automatic Trans Fluid (Merc LV, or later models, ULV)
I went to suction out the old fluid, it was Ford Red, not clear like what the Dealer sold me.
I took it back and they tried to deny it and blame me for not giving them the VIN... of the vehicle that was IN THEIR PARKING LOT.
Their excuse was "the computer told us to use that fluid."
"We must have the VIN" is a false excuse as the correct fluid is stated in the Owners Manual- this is a routine maintenance item, not some special part. No VIN is required to find the correct fluid.
This is DANGEROUS. The steering system in these (more or less) commercial trucks is NOT a light duty system as in a car- they steer upwards of 10,000 GVWR or more and that takes more steering force.
Put the wrong "car" fluid in that system and itll eventually be destroyed- PS Fluid cannot take the loads and temperatures that ATF can.
