Just my opinion,
If the overall fuel economy targets were based on assumed BEV sales numbers that are not happening then, yes those target numbers should be revised lower.
Hello everyone, I have a fleet of ambulances. They are F450 XLT extended cabs. Years range from 2018 to 2023. I was wondering if there was a way to program them to shut off when parked if they are not put in high idle. Or maybe when they a put in park they automatically go into high idle. I have OBDlink MX+ and forscan.
TT, Thx, interesting that these guys have never encountered one of these before...then again they get a lot of commercial/farm equipment. And a lot of it in the "rode hard, put away wet" class-including high mileage foreign vehicles that I assume the current owners cannot afford taking to the dealer😎
I think the 5.0 V8 is a better V8 offering in a light duty versus the 7.3 which seems much more focused to heavy duty work versus day to day performance. Ford offers the Powerboost if you really need the ultimate in towing capacity. Basically if the 5.0 isn't V8 enough you're likely overworking an F-150 anyhow.
EVs will have to prove their worth to earn mass adoption- The current generation are throwaways with an inadequate charging network and often have no GHG reduction advantage over IC vehicles running on renewable fuels.
