It's just getting worse and worse. California and Jay Leno have been going back on forth on CA's attempt to ban old cars. Now other states are thinking about it. Several reasons come to mind: 1) emissions, 2) the attempt to eliminate DIY, and 3) the inability to track older cars, which this guy seems to think is the main reason. It's really getting out of control. (13) Another State Wants To Ban Cars Older Than 2009 This Is Ridiculous - YouTube

Yea, they sure are as long as the electric vehicles are the vehicle types that Ford has a reputation for doing really well, which would be one or more of the following: Pickup truck Body on frame Commercial vehicle Iconic design The other attribute that will get those folks really interested in electric vehicles is affordability, or at least pricing parity with vehicles using other powertrain types. Ford CE1 products announced thus far meet all of that. Yea, your estimates align almost perfectly with surveys over the past 6 or 7 years that found between 21% and 27% of new car buyers in the U.S. really want an electric vehicle. Of course, actual EV share of total new vehicle sales is lower than that, mainly due to affordability concerns. CE1's emphasis on affordability may be able to push the share closer to 30% toward the end of the decade once Ford starts sellin' those products in high volume. 50% market share for EV in the U.S. new car market will take longer, that probably ain't happenin' until the 2030s.

A hybrid version is coming as Farley has stated. It would surprise me if we don’t see it before this new 2030 version. That’s a long time to wait given that the T6 platform already has the Ranger PHEV (for ROW). It shouldn’t be difficult to roll out a Bronco Powerboost on a shorter time line.

If the Lincoln off-roader is still in play, and according to the Autoweek article, does that mean the Lincoln version would come out first? If I recall it was supposed to be 2029.
