  1. ice isn't one that causes a bad rap for this forum. He is a well-respected, senior member that contributes way more to this forum there your petty bitching is ever going to.

  2. fordmantpw: Goes to cancel 2022 Super Duty order. Then realizes he can't tow a fifth wheel with a Bronco. Goes to cry in the corner because he can't afford both. Then realizes there is an option, so he tries (again) to convince the wife to sell the fifth wheel and buy a Class A and tow a Bronco behind it. Fails again, so sticks with his Super Duty order, because, you know, a Super Duty is pretty damn cool itself!

  3. The car carriers are getting vehicles delivered as soon as possible. The Dealers have no control over what's getting loaded for delivery at the ramps and there are a number of factors that have to be dealt with. Grow up and stop complaining! You'd think that you're the only one waiting for a vehicle to be delivered.

  5. Theres patience and then theres P A T I E N C E....( if you get my drift ) mark my words...the Maverick will be screwed up as well...Fords falling over themselves releasing new product without handling whats already in the pipeline first,,,,,,,every release they seem completely unprepared, yes theres being extenuating circumstances BUT....( * don't get me wrong I LOVE new product , but their handling of it is like Amateur hour and Im sincerely getting tired of spending multitudes of hours tap dancing answering legitimate queries )

  6. I totally agree with DOPEY on this one, in regards to buying something you want to suit your needs/wants even though you may not currently tow/haul a lot, but like the old saying goes "It's better to have it and not need it, rather than need it and not have it." Should you choose to buy a travel trailer (if your wife lets you) then you will have the right truck for the job. Good Luck and enjoy your truck. My order is still an "Unscheduled Clean." I have no idea when I'm getting my truck.

  7. this is SO frustrating from the dealership level...for basically a year plus we have been inundated with Bronco inquiries and fielding rather abrasive phone calls regarding basically a substandard release, and now they throw out a special edition, and to make it worse, broadcast the crap out of it. Now Im getting bombarded with e-mails of people wanting to cancel their initial orders and reserve a "Warthog"...now I have to relay that this unit , unlike the regular Bronco...WILL be sold much like a Raptor itself...ie read Addendum. Thanks Ford....how about you focus fully on getting the mainstream product release handled more proficiently rather than throwing constant friggen curve balls....this should have been put on the backburner until you get more pressing issues handled. Watch...2022 release will ALSO be delayed significantly...GRRRRR.

  8. I don't understand why some people feel the need to tell someone ELSE what they need or should buy. Options are great! A diesel and a supercharged 7.3 are NOT even remotely comparable, two totally different power curves. If you feel the need to put down someone else because of THEIR engine choice, then you are the problem, not their decision!

  9. The dealer doesn’t build it, Ford does. Ford determines the scheduled build dates. Therefore the dealer isn’t lying if they’re relaying the correct information from Ford.

  10. Lying might be a strong word...how about overly optimistic and basing that optimism on unsubstantiated information? Do hope people get scheduled and their vehicles arrive alive.

  12. Yeah really effective update, especially the front end. I love what they did with the light integration. It feels very fresh and new.

  13. Because In Production doesn’t mean it’s actually on the assembly line. There are also delays waiting for some things that get added offsite.

  14. Speaking of "serial" situations.... "Serial Training" Ford Motor Company`s Anti-Harassment/Insider Threat Training Starts this morning in the CAP Training Center. I think I`m in line for at least an Associates Degree or something after all the required Harassment training. Now "Insider Threat Training" hmm is this like post grad work?

  15. I like the updates, but I don't think Ford has yet to nail a cohesive-looking front end on the latest gen Expy.

  17. The inventory has to be unloaded from rail cars, transferred to the car carrier firms database and assigned to a load filled to deliver those vehicles to dealerships within a reasonable destination area. In addition, the car carrier firm has to have drivers available to inspect, load and deliver those vehicles as those drivers are responsible for damages. It's easy to say that there may be 5-6 Dealers within a 30-mile radius but unlikely that all those dealerships have vehicles at the ramp to be delivered at the same time. Also consider that, in the past year, the volume of vehicles available for delivery at the ramps has dropped substantially and many of the drivers may have taken jobs with other companies delivering non-automotive products. In normal times, it was common for dealerships to receive full or close to full loads of vehicles but these are not normal times. The OEM's and Dealers want vehicles from the factory to be received ASAP and the car carriers want to deliver those vehicles ASAP.

  18. The scheduling system is a mess, in particular for 2022MY Super Duty orders, thanks to the microchip shortage issues, interrupted plant schedules, etc. Unfortunately, there is no easy answer and Ford is providing any information to their Dealers about the situation. Commodity restraints apply to unscheduled orders only but scheduled order production dates are getting pushed back for no apparent reason. Whether it's microchip supply issues and scheduled production dates being adjusted or supplier issues is anyone's guess.

  19. Obviously, but if a dealer tells you "my inside source tells me it will be built next week and Ford doesn't build it next week, would you say the dealer is just blowing smoke or........

  20. We ordered in January and had the price locked in. Insurance company had to review my stated value, because it's 10k over what we ordered it at. Prices have gone up that much, and some manufacturers are no longer locking in the price.

  22. Definitely not offended here. Can't hurt my feeling (only have one...LOL). Only giving a point of view from one who didn't buy the truck to tow. I do see/understand where those who tow/haul often would find it a bit crazy to buy such a vehicle to not tow/haul very much.

  23. Don’t have the specific answers but understand that wheel diameter and tire diameter are 2 separate things. You can have a 17”, 18”, 19”, and 20” wheel all with the same diameter tire. So figure out the tire size then determine the best wheel size. If you’re not going off roading then it’s just which size looks best to you.

  24. I will be the first to admit that I don't NEED the diesel (very little towing/hauling). I really don't NEED a F250/F350....but I want it. People can argue between what is needed and what is not needed all day long. Do people go out and buy a corvette/mustang/challenger/any sports car because they need it? Nope. For me, I am a guy with limited mobility and having a toy, such as a sports car, is physically impossible due to unable to get in and out of low cars without falling on the ground. I had a 66 Nova which ended up sitting in my garage since I was unable to get up/down off the ground to work on it. I sold it, used the money for a F350 Tremor w/Diesel. The truck is now my daily driver and toy (which can do whatever I need whenever I need). Now that I have the truck in my possession, I am just as happy as any guy/gal driving a new anything. To each his/her own. I will say that I know have a stick in the fire to try and persuade the wife in getting a camper.

  29. Thanks - I'm sure we will! And yeah - the chip situation is driving everyone nuts right now. I can't imagine the nightmares that the auto makers are going through, though - I think we've all seen the satellite pictures of the Ford trucks parked at the holding area! And you're right on the used car values - they're talking TI a bit over the purchase price on our 2020.

  30. Thanks. I certainly didn't intend to come off as complaining...just somewhat disappointed. Having said that, I certainly understand the situation with thSe chip shortage - I own a small business (water softeners sales & repair), and have purposely gone back to analog-style controllers for that very reason. What I get from the order tracking system is: Ordered: 8/5/2021 Order Number: 2231 VIN: 5LM5J9XC3NGL05068 We ordered ours the last week of July, and knew there'd be a delay on it showing up as ordered. Still no window sticker or blend date, so we're pretty much in limbo. Then again, every month they delay it is a month closer to being able to write a check for most of the car purchase, so that's okay. We're trading in her '20 Aviator RII w/under 9k miles, so there's not going to be a huge $$ gap anyway. It'd have more miles on it if it hadn't sat waiting for parts at various times for a cumulative total of over 5 months....lol We're not mad about it - I knew better than to order a first-year model vehicle, but the wife fell in love w/it, so it is what it is.

  31. I finally got a scheduled build week for my F450 Platinum last week for the week of October 25th. I had my dealer remove the AS a few weeks ago. I also have 5th wheel kit, spray in bedliner and roll up tonneau cover that have been commodity restraints previously.

  36. Last time I checked the Tundra is built in Texas by Americans-supported by Dealerships owned by Americans-that employ Americans. Maybe you could elaborate on your thinking.

  37. OEM's don't require you use their repair shops for service, but you will want to retain receipts to prove you had (or did it yourself) work was completed.

  41. I know, it's just the Tundra crowd are basically the exact same people who claimed the f-150 wasn't durable because it utilized turbocharged engines. Now their beloved Tundra only has turbocharged engines, it's hilarious.

  46. I SO wish Ford designers would work on the interior for 90% of the Ford and Lincoln vehicles. The design of what appears to be a screen stuck TO the dash rather than integrated INTO the dash has completely kept me from buying a new Lincoln. I know it can be done, as many competitors have figured out some very nice dash designs with screens.
