  1. I picked it up yesterday! Badlands with the 2.3/7 speed and the high package. I love it so far! Traded the black Mustang on it.

  2. Like everything, things got pushed and moved around with supply issues and COVID delays. July 2023 is not that far away in automotive years, less than 2 years and will be around 18 months from when the global Ranger is shown. MY2024 would also time with a Bronco MCE, so electrical/data architectures and such will be updated to support more technology and stay common with the Ranger suppliers.

  5. But everyone seemed so certain otherwise it was gonna parallel the global Ranger. I knew that not to be so true, as there was clearly gonna be a gap. End of 2022 was the plan originally, it probably slipped like new Mustang. This is the exact same thing I said here above, because the source of that inside info is probably my own source, who told me this personally and much more. Not quite, as that's not the intent either. The Bronco MCA (Mid Cycle Action) was also provided to me by my own Ford source and it isn't that soon. My source told me this info a few days ago, before he went "official" I guess per recent reports. Bronco is part of that too, but I guess he withheld it from publication. I am told by the source July 2023 is the latest estimate, based on distribution chain. Job 1 is May 2023.

  6. Remember when Ford was running Mustang chassis mules on a shortened MN12 chassis?

  7. Supposedly MN12 came in both over-budget and overweight. I think Car & Driver had a writeup on how Ford management wasn't happy with the MN12 team.

  9. Hi Graham. As Baddestt stated, that chart only shows that Amsoil themselves say they "recommend" it for the particular Ford requirement/API standard. However, it is not API certified to meet the Ford standard. Therefore, if you should have any warranty claim that can be connected to the oil (even remotely), that Amsoil oil would not meet the Ford warranty requirements. And therefore, Ford would be within their contract rights to deny the claim. Even the "Product Warranty" section is a nice bit of legalese wordplay. In the real world, very few things actually "void" a vehicle warranty. So of course, using their oil doe snot "void" your warranty. However, many things can lead to a warranty claims denial, which is different than a voided warranty. Using an oil that is not API certified for the use required would be one of them. Hey, Amsoil is not the only company to play legalese word games. Just be aware that is what it is. I'm not telling anyone not to use Amsoil. In my opinion, would it probably meet the API certification, if Amsoil spent the time and money to have it tested? Yes, probably. However, "probably" will not help if an owner has an engine failure and Ford asks for oil change receipts. Just be aware of the pros and cons and make your best decision. Good luck. EDIT- In reality, very few modern vehicles ever have an oil related engine failure due to the oil itself... unless it is due to improper maintenance, neglect, oil pump failure etc. However, using an oil that does not meet the manufacturer required API specification (this goes for any/all manufacturers), can give the automaker an excuse to claim an engine failure was caused by or lead to by our choice of an incorrect or non-API certified oil. If the oil we use is an approved oil that meets the proper manufacturer certification, and we follow the maintenance schedule, we followed the maintenance requirements in our warranty contract. So in my opinion, the best bet is to use the correct specification oil, have our receipts, and don't give them the chance to use it as an excuse.

  10. The Mach-E has become the first EV to pass the Michigan State Police pursuit vehicle tests: https://www.freep.com/story/money/cars/ford/2021/09/24/ford-mustang-mach-e-michigan-state-police-testing/5840913001/

  11. Correct, it "meets", based off Amsoils internal testing. However, it is not API certified, and no API symbol on the bottle. It's the reason why its not listed on Fords 6.7 diesel oil approved list. Amsoil OE and XL line of gas engine oils ARE API certified. It's just an added safety measure when it comes to preventing Ford from denying engine warranty. I like Amsoil and use it. But in my 22 F350 6.7, Ill use the Schaeffers Ultra 722 10w30, its API certified and on Ford's list of approved 6.7 diesel oils. Ill use the Amsoil for the transfer case and differential gear oil

  12. That all makes perfect sense, and will make for a better truck too. I just kept reading May of next year as a MY2023. I figured they were trying to get both vehicles on the same modified platform as soon as they could. I think I can wait another year...... I just don't want to....lol

  13. Proof of ignoring federal law enforcement~ President Biden slammed Border Patrol agents filmed on horseback attempting to stop migrants from crossing the Rio Grande into Texas, saying they would “pay” for their actions. “It was horrible to see what you saw, to see people treated like they did—horses barely running them over people being strapped,” Biden said at a press conference at the White House on Friday. “It’s outrageous. I promise you those people will pay.”

  14. My truck was built on 9-21. It says estimated to be delivered in 19 days with an ETA end date of 10-13. I have no shipment date posted or transit date in the mach-e site. Mach-e site is only site updated on the ford site it still says scheduled and not built. Any other additional site I can use to track if it has shipped or not?

  15. This is the same oil I plan to use when my 22 Tremor 6.7 arrives. Amsoil DTT 10w30. However, due to warranty, I will probably use Schaeffer's 10w30 Ultra. It is excellent as well. SynShield® Ultra Performance Engine Oil 10W-30 | Schaeffer Oil Keep in mind that the Schaeffers in the link is actually listed on Ford's approved oil list for the 6.7. The Amsoil you listed is not. I've used Amsoil in all my Fords, and never an issue at all, but just keep in mind. I have never seen an Amsoil/Ford diesel related issue, but Ford is picky when it comes to warranty

  17. Whats is the build time during normal times usually ? Not now with whats going on. I feel like I would be very lucky if I put in an order end of next week and it being built and delivered by Nov 20 . What are your thoughts on that Thanks

  18. Negative, it’s a Lariat with the black appearance and FX4 packages. I opted to skip the Tremor package since I was going to lift it.

  20. Only the Ford zone reps or someone else at Ford can set priority 1 and 2 and it is legit. Dealers can’t do it. It forces the system to do everything possible to get it scheduled. Looks like they’re using it on a lot of older Superduty orders to try and force them through. Typically it’s only done when there was some type of problem - order got lost/stuck, vehicle was damaged in transit and needs to be replaced, etc. but these aren’t typical times.

  22. Thanks for the feedback! Ford started adding more standard equipment with the 1987-1988 series and then really started to load up the Thunderbird's standard equipment list with the then all-new 1989 Thunderbird which drove prices substantially higher. Those actions made it more difficult to market the car at competitive and/or attractive price points and as a result the sales volume dropped continuously. The retro 2002 Thunderbird with the limited production attracted strong interest the first Model Year along with strong ADM's that many or most Dealers charged. Ford tried to maintain the interest by introducing new colors and decor options the remaining years but the novelty wore off along with the demand.

  27. Here’s a new shot of the interior. Appears to be a large screen that extends below the camo. Possibly the same screen as the mach e. Also the digital IP looks similar to the F150’s. https://www.ranger6g.com/forum/threads/2023-ford-rangers-large-infotainment-screen-design-details-revealed.6935/

  30. More than 1 million illegal crossings of the US-Mexico border will have been attempted over the first seven months of 2021, preliminary data indicates — defying expectations that the illegal immigration crisis would ease as temperatures climbed. 210,000 illegal aliens were apprehended at the US southern border during the month of July. This was a 21-year high number for apprehensions.

  33. Forget the "Convoy" reference on the Window Sticker. Except for dealerships that are within a few hours of a plant, the vast majority (90% plus) of vehicles are shipped by rail to a final ramp where they are transferred to a car carrier firm for final delivery.

  36. I agree about the HUD and the center screen (although it is much smaller than the one on the Expy and the competition). About the driver display, it is really basic, there is more info as you say but the graphics and animations are no near the competition and it doesn't include augmented reality (the Germans and even Cadillac have it) and night vision (as far as I remember, the germans have this for at least 10 years) Some pics to make my point Navi I uploaded a screenshot from a video of the Chinese Ford Equator that has augmented reality Also, why the new Expy now has the same hp as the Navi? ??‍♂️

  37. The last generation Thunderbird was to be a 4-year run with production limited to 25,000 vehicles per year. The hit the sales target the first year and then dropped for the remaining years. The nameplate hasn't sold in volume since the late '80's and then dropped continually until Ford dropped the Thunderbird after the 1997 Model Year. While the nameplate has history, it would take a tremendous investment to reintroduce it and I just don't see the sales potential. I have some experience as my dealership was one of the Top 10 Thunderbird Dealers in the country.

  44. Hand washing & polishing a vehicle is good exercise. I applied 303 Graphine Nano Spray shortly after delivery of my 2021 Ranger. They say it works best after removing old wax which I did by hand washing the truck with Dawn Ultra dish soap. The Graphine should be applied in a thin coat, and it looks horrible out of the bottle: a grey goo with a strong petroleum smell, but it really works. I used a microfiber cloth for both application and wipe-off and it's good on everything: glass, wheels, neoprene, rubber, plastic etc. I followed up after a couple days with Adam's Detail Spray which really brought out a wet look shine and a very smooth finish- and has a strawberry scent! It has been about twelve weeks since I applied both and water is beading up well.

  46. I had an article from Ford Authority pop up on facebook this morning stating the NG Ranger wouldn't show up in the US until July of 2023. I hope it's wrong, but I'm sure it's not. I'll post it once I find again, but someone else will probably beat me to it.
