Mad Hatter
Good. Details ought to start trickling out, soon. I wonder if the 10R140 will debut simultaneously. Edited February 16, 2018 by Mad Hatter
blksn8k2
So this is apparently not an evolution of the 6.2L Boss?

jcartwright99
This will replace the V10, correct? Edit: Yes it will missed that paragraph. Goodbye MOD V10 Edited February 16, 2018 by jcartwright99
NLPRacing
The new 7.3 Gas. This and a 10 speed auto would be amazing in a Class C motorhome.
fordmantpw
This and a 10 speed auto would be amazing in a Class C motorhome. I envision that coming, along with the Class A chassis being upgraded. A VERY much-needed upgrade if you ask me! Now, if only they would put the PowerStroke in that chassis...
Sevensecondsuv
This engine is the most exciting thing to come out of Ford in 15 years if you ask me. I've just got my fingers crossed it'll be available in F250/350 pickups.

I would love to have one of these with the 7.3 gasser or 6.7 Powerstroke.

Deanh
wouldnt see why it wouldnt be in the F350 and up as an alternative to the $8900 Diesel..............
SoonerLS
I'm not sure why they would keep the 6.2 alongside this new mill, at least not in the long term. IIRC, the F-250 and F-350 make up the bulk of non-F150 F-Series sales, so that's where the volume to justify developing this mill will be, and they don't really need two gassers for those two. Deanh
I say the 6.2 will stay, a 7l may be overkill for some....always wondered why the 5.0 didnt get utilized, but my guess would be the 5.0 is a more spendy engine than the 6.2. twintornados
Just call it the 7.0 liter Windsor motor....

The Coyote is great, but it's not built for Super Duty, umm, duty; it builds its power and torque too high up in the revs for that kind of work. There is no 6.2L listed in Ford’s 2020 engine list, only the 7.3.
jpd80
Hard to imagine that the new 7.3 would replace the 6.2 in most applications, there's a fuel economy improvement target for Class 2B....... Interesting to see how Ford plays this out, I hope they do a great job on this engine and that it surprises many with its fuel efficiency, especially under load.. 7Mary3
There is no 6.2L listed in Ford’s 2020 engine list, only the 7.3. If you are talking about that 'leaked' 2020 engine oil requirement document, the 6.2L is on it. I think the 6.2L stays, and the 7X replaces the V-10 in the 450 and larger trucks. 02MustangGT
Sorry RMC. I guess I need to use the sarcasm tag. I was poking at akirby for his inability to notice the 5.0 listed in the sheet (earlier in the thread).
akirby
3rd. row down, first line, last engine listed. I saw that but it doesn’t make sense. All the others are in numerical order. Also - the specification (ends in H1 or B1) doesn’t match the current oil specification (ends in A). It is possible but it doesn’t add up.
