Ok, here are the quarterly truck/van comparisons:
Truck comparison:
EV details:
In the full size segment, Ford had a huge gain over low numbers early last year. Coincidental, I'm sure, but funny that Ram's decline of full size truck sales is almost exactly mirrored by GM's increase. Tundra is there doing its thing.
For midsizers, the new Colorado/Canyon are doing well - I think they did a good job with them. Ranger is rebounding after bottoming out last year with the changeover. Tacoma is running away with the segment as usual, after a hiccup last year with their own changeover.
Heavy trucks are what they are, and are dependent on fleet purchasing timeline.
Maverick with its own segment still....guess I could throw Santa Cruz in there, but meh....
Over on the EV side, Lightning and E-Transit are still the "top" sellers, but Silverado and Sierra EVs are doing well. I don't include Hummer in these figures because they group truck and SUV in one number, plus it's sort of truck adjacent.
GM put Brightdrops into Chevy figures now, and made 400/600 a single line item, so that's what I've done too.
This is why I stated I’m not saying much, your job is secure you don’t have anything to worry about. I get it, let’s see how it plays out I have every right to be nervous with all the changes that have taken place at my facility. All this tariff crap doesn’t help.
While I think that would be a great idea, I don't think FoMoCo is going to make any additional capex moves that haven't been planned yet for the foreseeable future.
If the North American supply chain becomes completely untangled I think it would make sense for Oakville to satisfy the Canadian market for F-Series demand.
However I think this still has a lot of time to play out before any big moves are made by the Blue Oval.
Isn’t that a Toyota instead of Smart Car? Anyway, Toyota’s new solution to urban traffic and overcrowded roads is considerably smaller, and much more efficient. 😀
Others have similar vehicles with 4 wheels that look much better. Battery electric makes extreme downsizing much easier.
