  1. A lot of it has to do with the disorganisation that goes with evolving plans. Hopefully things get a bit more organised now that the switch to electrification has started

  5. When you get your F250, check the rail clamps on your oem retractable tonneau cover. I just got mine last week and found that the factory installers had not tightened down the bottom bolt on each clamp which is supposed to brace the clamp against the side of the bed.

  8. An Evos based product would be a perfect fit for Flat Rock, since it sits lower then a CUV. However, I don't see that happening for another 18-24 months, and at that point, I think Ford would be better served with a BEV product at that point vs ICE product that will go away in less then 10 years. Ford seems to be going with a two pronged approach here with products- Current ICE or Hybrids products will be built for another 10 year or so with updates/MCEs and phased out early next decade But they also are coming out with BEV equivalents at the same time in the next 5 years and I'd assume the ICE plants would transition over to BEVs at some point. Plus its an insurance policy if something changes between now and then.

  9. @RedHoncho01, your dealer's other vehicle (VIN ending in 18864) may be there now. The JCT site is showing it as "Delivered on Sep 13 2021."

  10. I sure hope the EVOS comes here... I get tired of the "for China only" statement. North America gives Ford the bulk of its products and therefore should get the best like the EVOS that is dazzling with its interior and 3d effect front grill.

  11. Maverick and Bronco Sport have the lower end covered nicely. Puma would be a great product that yields little to no profit. On the ICE side Everest would be a better replacement for Edge from a business standpoint - it would share everything with Ranger and Bronco but no factory capacity to build it in volume. And upcoming BEVs are simply a higher priority.

  12. Maybe.... Truth is (and this is coming from someone with 35+ years in fleets) is Ford is #1 in fleets because they are usually the lowest cost. Not because their vehicles are 'better' by some competitive metric, it's because Ford typically gives the best fleet incentives. So it seems Farley is thinking that Ford Pro will somehow add value to Ford's commercial products and that in turn will improve the margins on those vehicles. I think what we are really seeing here is Ford is not content with the slim margins on their commercial products and is looking for a way to make them more profitable. Ford Pro may help a bit, but I think Ford will eventually have to take a harder look at their commercial product lineup and determine in what commercial markets they can best compete profitably.

  13. After seeing family farms and ranches bought out by conglomerates, looks like family dealerships are next. Either sell to a mega dealer or become a used car lot.

  14. Received my Estimated Delivery date, it's been a long wait. The worse part of waiting 6 months is hearing about all the issues and buy backs then wondering if I made the right decision.

  16. Jumping through the hoops is very frustrating. Nevermind all of the calls and emails when submitting for information from the dealers. I had nothing but $500 for the longest time, then I got 2k about 6 weeks ago that I found by calling Ford marketing. Then the same offer in the mail about 3 weeks later. It may vary by dealer, but my salesman "locked in" the offer so that it doesn't matter when the truck comes in. I made sure that I got an updated purchase contract to reflect this. Has anyone received any offers over 2k? I have a 2022 F250 Tremor (7.3) on order with xplan pricing and the 2k, but it would be nice to get 2.5-3k offers to offset all of the accessories that come after delivery.

  17. I really like the look of the carbonized gray. I have an f250 Tremor on order and am really looking forward to it. I like the darker magnetic color better, but carbonized is a close second.

  18. Think the reason it seems they lost both oars is that they indeed have lost both oars. China managed to have the genetic sequence for this virus and managed to leak it through a company that apparently disappeared. Chinese came up with a vaccine that no western country accepts. Our 95% effective vaccine doesn't prevent disease transmission. Probably means it doesn't prevent mutation and creation of variants. We need an "Operation Warp Speed II". Instead we have "Operation Shame and Coerce".

  19. On the subject of making any sense, Has there ever been a situation in recorded medical history where those that have been vaccinated against anything, turned to the unvaccinated population to blame for the vaccinated population getting sick? Was there ever a time when vaccinating those in the least effected groups was made mandatory? Did locking down/quarantining the healthy or unaffected ever happen in recorded medical history? Then what has the benefits been from this complete change in addressing a flu pandemic, been? A benefit for the American work force in general, didn`t take long to get it ingrained in the heads..."why work"? The benefits of the welfare state are never ending, just raise the taxes. Many group`s use the demanding of the vaccine as an excuse not to work are now the same groups in court fighting the everyone has to get the vaccine as the excuse not to work. Ford has how many plants not producing? How many plants working and have to cancel production not for lack of parts? Cancel premium pay days, for lack of employee`s? The system players don`t even come to work on time and a halve or double time days and then take Mondays and/or Tuesdays off. Nothing makes any sense anymore. The economy, southern border, immigration, whatever that was in Afghanistan all from a candidate that had very little to show as any positive results from "50", FIFTY years of getting elected.

  20. Why is it so hard to get any leadership with any medical experience at the level of the good doctor to have some consistency. Then again there are Doctors with years of experience that have consistency in their responses to the china flu but, wait these Doctors aren`t responding with the tone or wording the leadership in control wants to air on the government sponsored media. Here we are just a year later, the good doctor is now disagreeing with what he “himself” said last year, as we know the good doctor tends to do this regularly… “I don’t see [a vaccine mandate] on a national level merely because of all the situations you have upon encroaching upon a person’s freedom to make their own choice of their own health” “The good doctor, seemed to be a bit disappointed with President Joe Biden's newly announced COVID-19 vaccine mandate for federal and many private-sector workers because it doesn't go far enough.” Does it seem like they`ve lost both oar’s and the good doctor and our leadership is hoping something floats by that they can grab on too? I mean anything, Shit… 3 ½ years of floating and incoherent babbling.

  26. That stat sounds correct, the higher mileage van operators are probably buying diesel Sprinters. But good luck getting the cheap fleets who are used to buying a new stripped T150 for less than $25k and beating it to an early death to pay almost twice that for an electrified Transit. As for the "suits" in "glass house", they've got way more data than I do if they'd bother to use it...

  30. Hyundai Kona, Buick Encore, Honda HR-V etc are not *cheap* per se. They sell for about the same price that Ford is asking for Maverick (although Maverick goes higher). I think a regionalized Puma made in Mexico will not cost more than the competitors. The issue with Puma was the previous management at Ford decided North America will follow the (now cancelled) EcoSport program in Brazil so Puma was reduced to Europe only. I think if Farley was in charge back in 2017, he would have brought Puma to the US and scuttled the EcoSport early.

  33. Good point jpd80 sir. The most important thing is for Ford's corporate culture to change. Even now, Ford's culture still tolerates making the same mistakes over and over. Like the debacle discussed in this thread about Ford India Pvt Ltd. Hopefully with Jim Farley's leadership and the transition to electric vehicles, that change will finally come.

  34. Installed the covers today. Overall I like them and they will do. I am not a fan of seat covers and it's hard for me to cover up the leather, but it's a work truck for now and I want to protect them. Overall the covers fit well. I would give them a 9 out of 10. The instructions are worthless and I don't think they are intended for power seats or the black leather trucks. I assume this is why they only come in brown and grey. I found it was best to remove the side panel trim that holds the controls so I could see better and route the straps so they won't pull or pinch any wiring. Overall it was an easy install, but it took a little time the way I did it.

  41. But hasn't that been the case with ICE engines for the past 40-50 years? The infamous water carbonator and whatever else fancy things people have been talking about hasn't come to fruition yet like fully electronically controlled valves and what not. There might be prototypes or one or twoses using the tech, but its not really ready for mass production/usage. BEVs represent the most realistic approach for the next 10-20 years.

  42. Hydrogen is never going to happen at a wide scale. Too many problem with it, staring with basic chemistry... H element is super clingy so it takes a lot of energy to separate it from other elements like O or C. The result is always net-negative in energy.

  43. I installed a Truxedo Truxtport soft roll up cover on ours. We had one on 2 previous trucks and it was 12 years old and still looked like new when we got rid of it. Nothing fancy, but works well for us.

  45. Parts are coming in slowly and trucks are being shipped as they are completed. There is not going to be a tidal wave of superdutys flooding the market at one time. I would also imagine the vast majority of them are retail or fleet orders that are already "sold". In short, I would be very surprised if there are any deals. The deal would be you could have the truck today vs waiting months for a 22. I dont imagine 22's will be found sitting on dealer lots anytime soon if ever.

  46. I have the BAK MX4 on my F150. Going into year 3 and it still works great and looks great as well. Keeps the bed nice and dry even in heavy rain. It is not permanently attached and is able to be removed in 10-15 minutes.

  47. I ordered a 22 f350 7.3 4x4 crew cab long bed, camper/snowplow package, 11900 gvwr and tried to get the 3" hitch but was told I can't change that. I don't understand why I can't get a heavier/stronger hitch. It is probably for some liability reason. It kinda bothered me a bit until I stopped at Northern tool and auto zone and walked past the trailer hitch sections..... There are no 3" Reese style slide in receivers.? I know I can always order one or go somewhere that stocks them. There were plenty of 2" and 2 1/2" hitches, that's when I decided maybe 2.5 isn't too bad. I've never had one of those adjustable hitches only various size dropdowns with various ball sizes so I have a whole collection of trailer hitches to grab and go for whatever trailer hitch fits my needs at the time. So to convert over to a 3 in with various drops and then to have each various drop with various ball sizes that's going to be an expensive shopping trip. I am kinda liking the idea to stay with the 2.5 now. Don't really need the 3 in I just always like going heavier-duty on everything than what I'm going to need.
