Since blackhorse decided to crash the party on the other thread, I will repeat my post here.

No direct injection on the 5.0. This has been discussed numerous times. I like the 412hp figure as it provides seperation from the v6. Wonder what the torque rating will be? As for a $35000 base price, forget it. The GT will start under 30 grand.

32V, DOHC, TI-VCT, allot of work has been done to reduce parasitic losses (oil windage) and frictional losses.

Well, the pics on pickuptrucks.com looked like a DOHC design. I am glad they are going this route with 2 hi-tech, modern plants in the Mustang. If you can lose weight, that is even better.

To recap: +300 V6, +400 V8, possible weight loss, most likely same price (ref. I'll use 6.4L and 6.7 PS), available track pack for both (Comments in the postive for making the Live Axle the best it's ever been)...we got a winner!

Its all new and not modular so not enlarged 4.6.

The current Ford Racing 5.0 Cammer uses 4.6L bore spacing and siamesed bores.

As stated, this is an all new engine. Different bore spacing. This makes the block a bit longer and caused some minor underhood changes on the 'stang.

(If you squint a bit, you can see many "concepts" came from the D35/37.)

I'll admit...I'm shocked! Way to go Ford!!

Did you see Matt's quote:

That is the first time he has had nothing bad to say...

The real Matt is back:

"Unless you really need the room of Challenger or have an undying hatred of the live axle, the Mustang is now THE pony car to have."

Well...there are a few things wrong with the Donky from Ford.

1. It's a Ford.

2. It uses a Ford designed engine

3. The car is bland except for the rear...which is hideous.

4. It still uses a rear suspension that belongs on a truck (while the Explorer and Expedition get a sports car-like suspension)

5. It will be overpriced...like all of the new Fords.

The real Matt is back:

It just gets sadder and sadder every day.

I love reading his comments on Autoblog and other car sites. He's so pathetically stoopid he makes all the Mr. Gumbys and village idiots look like brain specialists!

Back on topic, if the 5.0L is going to make 412 hp in the Mustang, what kind of HP and TQ will it make in the F150? About 360HP and 400+ TQ?

That's what I want to see, how it's tuned for the F150, and when it'll get dropped into the F150 as well.

I can see the 360-380hp and 400-420lb-ft relm for the F150. Then again, the 6.2L in the Raptor isn't making a great deal more than those numbers, so maybe a little less, but not by much.

And like others, would love to see a blower on this thing. Talk about screaming down the road.
