There may well be lawsuits, but Ford is still requiring dealers who want to sell BEVs to install at least two Level 2 chargers and participate in employee training.
The customer base for aspirational cars continues to shrink, and number of automakers able do them well is also shrinking.
Other than V8 Mustangs, GT, and some low volume racing inspired cars like Focus RS and Escort RS Cosworth, nothing in Ford's coupe/sedan/hatch lineup in the past 30 years was aspirational. All of those except Mustang are gone. The only hope for Ford to compete in the aspirational car market is with more race car versions of Mustang like what they've done with Black Horse R and GTD.
I have already stated that this truck will be the LAST one with the twin panel moonroof.....
I work part time at a Ford dealer, find yourself a good, local T-top repair shop and they will fix you up.. Here in SE PA, there is a great local guy that can repair ANY sun roof for a TON cheaper than any Ford Service facility.. We send all of our "out of warranty " jobs to him.

I can see why you would be worried about this option. It may be great looking but it is a really expensive option for what it is, and I'm not sure many customers are going to be willing to pay it.
I don’t see how there won’t be some lawsuits over this for those that paid for the upgrades, which they likely wouldn’t have done otherwise, and now any dealer can sell them with no upgrades.
Of course this is the way it should have been from the beginning I might add.
