I doubt it’s CE1. Unveiling CE1 would be crazy. If they were this close to being unveiled it makes the whole CE1 announcement WITHOUT SHOWING ANYTHING an even bigger mistake. It was literally a month ago. If the vehicles were so close but couldn’t be pulled ahead ONE MONTH or the announcement held ONE MONTH then Fords a bigger mess than we know.
My guess is the Chinese EREV/BEV Bronco badged CUV will replace Escape. (Possibly built in Cuautitlán or OAC?)
It’s a long shot but reworking Cuautitlan as a C2 plant might help the situation with a few more products
but that would mean moving Mach E to a new home… could it evolve into CE1 product with other new BEVs?
That would certainly help with costs….
At this moment SD plan is still moving forward in Oakville. Retooling is 52 percent complete and the stamping plant steel structure is shaping up fast. We won’t return til second to third quarter 26 at the earliest. Anything can change so my optimism is guarded. I agree C2 products here would’ve been better but oh well I suppose Ford wanted a SD facility outside of UAW territory in case of another labor disruption. There’s too much going on with all the tariff crap and constantly changing plans anyways. I try not to worry.
So just starve the dealerships of product and hope they go bankrupt or just give up. Seems like a great strategy.
This shit is embarrassing. And they wonder why sales tank on Ford/Lincoln products when they do little with them and they are basically 10 years old models.
Didn’t they delay the F150 redesign by another year…
I’m not holding my breath on this. The only announcements I see are how this and that model’s redesign is being delayed by yet another year or more, or a model is getting cancelled. I can’t recall the last time I have seen a concept vehicle from Ford, showing a new model or design trend. Frankly, there has been little for me to get excited about for quite a while with Ford. Perhaps some are excited about CE1, however that isn’t a class of vehicle I’m interested in. From strategic perspective, CE1 is relevant though, so I get it.
Yeah, IIRC the representative mentioned in video that solar panels can charge the 16 kWh battery bank, which can then charge the EV and or power house. I’d have to watch video again but recall him saying it can work in a couple of different ways. One for sure is through car’s charger powered by system’s inverter. I think he also mentions direct DC-DC charging but I’m not sure. It would require voltage boost since vehicle battery is at much higher voltage.
