  1. Mach E in November. Most likely LA auto show. Baby bronco not sure but its launching prior to Mach E so sometime "soon", Also wait till you see the new Ford F150. The Interior is absolutely HOT. By end of 2020 Ford will have some absolutely cool and hot products selling.

  2. Hi all, So as someone who has actually seen a preproduction prototypes of both of these units I want to to share some info about them since ive been receiving many questions recently. I believe Ford is making "Mustang" and "Bronco" a family of vehicles. The mach e will use the mustang running horse with lines lines going through the horse. I saw the logo on the front end (where grill would be) and also steering wheel (black horse with horizontal lines going through it.The sill plate literally says mustang on it with a running horse logo in black similar to this https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/41DwwXOhe%2BL.jpg. This rendering of the front which ford teased in a video is 90% similar to the production intent vehicle. The rear uses the mustang tri bar design but with an extra light strip going through all 3 bars. The sloping roofline and rear hatch is quite similar to the jaguar ipace I know many will be disappointing about the mustang name/logo but honestly it looks badass. The Baby bronco literally says "Bronco" across the front grill and uses the bucking bronco logo on the steering wheel. These leak is 90% representative of the actual vehicle i saw except it said "Bronco" across the grill instead of "Ford" https://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/future-cars/a25050309/ford-baby-bronco-jeep-first-photos/

  4. But but but......Ford doesn't know how to make long range BEVs. Only Tesla.

  8. The range is good. But not enough for me unless charging stations are spread around like gas stations. A regular trip I take is 350 miles in one day. 6 or 8 times a year I will put on 600 to 700 miles a day. So 330 miles with fast charging might make it for me in fair weather. But cold, especially below freezing is no go. A friend has a Tesla Model S, in warm weather he can get a solid 220 or so miles on a charge. When temps are in the 20s it is another story. He makes a trip to downtown Pittsburgh about once a month, about 150 miles. When it is in the 20s, using the heat, wipers on most of the trip, etc. he can only make it to the Pittsburgh airport where there are some of the Tesla superchargers, and then takes an Uber to downtown. There are chargers downtown that he can get to in warm weather, but cold is another story. With the hybrid I drive my refueling range in warm weather is just about 500 miles, and it drops to about 450 in the 20s. Ford is doing the wise thing by offering BEVs for those who they will work for, and hybrids for those who need to or want to go further between refuelings.

  9. If the did sell as many chargers and challengers then maybe they wouldn’t need Tesla’s credits

  10. The best part is that it is all thanks to FCA and GM making Tesla profitable. ?

  11. Hmm... the GT "first drive" reviews said that the vehicle starts off from a stop in full electric mode for the instant torque, but then once the car is going the ICE will kick in. If that is true, the start/stop issue becomes irrelevant.

  12. The problem is what do you call the vehicle the sub brand is named after? Is the bronco going to be the bronco bronco? ???

  14. I had heard that rumor about a month ago. As time goes on it sounds like it might not be true. This is true. 2021 F-150 launches late spring/early summer next year. Job 1 for Bronco is December 2020. I was talking to someone about this last week. We suspected that Ford will make it their centerpiece for the new and "improved" summer NAIAS. Also, a Bronco Pickup has been discussed but at this point it has not been approved yet.

  15. I dont like it either, but Jeep has pulled off putting their name on a Fiat 500. Porsche is selling a helluva lot of tarted up Volkswagen SUVs and still asking an insane amount for their cars. It can be done with success, as long as the base brand remains class leading.

  17. Thank you for the info.........using the Mustang logo/name does not sit well with me, but it is what it is Anything you can share on S550/S650 would be appreciated. From what I can gather, we'll get a refresh for '21MY and, potentially, an all new car for '23MY. :)

  19. As far as I know, we'll see a mix of portrait and landscape-oriented screens over the coming years. I believe the current design edict is moving towards horizontal screens in most applications.

  20. The list of electronic engineering issues blanket the complete manufacturing industry. From voice command kitchen appliances to the home entertainment products. There are many root causes for these issues like R&D to actual trials prior to general releasing of the features on products to the consumers. But the one true issue that causes so many inconveniences to the consumers is the rush manufactures feel they have to get these just slightly proven or tested products in the hands of the consumers. Of course that feeling of rush, rush is based in greed and the every popular "I got it first" or "its sitting in my driveway, not yours, first" consumer syndrome.... Bob, welcome to the 21st century, by your post it is apparent that you`ve been caught of guard or unaware of your new position. You didn't just purchase a vehicle.... you my fellow consumer are now an unpaid member of the after market research & development team. Make sure you fill out all the ever so pleasant snail mail, email and text responses for rating your experiences as a purchaser, dealer service recipient and in general how`d things go, requests. One last thing, I am sure if you are a consumer of any Apple stuff you have even experienced some inconvenience with the most consumer driven manufacture in the world, you know... "update is available" ...."come on update is ready"... just to wake up to your Apple thingy sitting there just smiling while reading out see I didn`t need your permission... naanaa I updated without you while you were sleeping 37 minutes from work if you take Interstate 94....... customerviewpoint@customerviewpointfeedback.com Ford Customer Service Mr. Matt Bradley, Director North American, Ford Customer Service division Once again thank you for purchasing one of the number one consumer rated and one of the highest consumer purchased vehicles in North America. Ford, built with consumer R&D.

  21. If performance gain is not that obvious, then efficiency should be the objective. Looks like the GT gains 3 mpg than the regular non-hybrid Aviator. Is that worth the money?

  22. Trying to save an extra dedicated part and use one module for multi tasking. My new F150 sat at the dealer for weeks because of module issues and programming. I drove to work one morning when it was 16 degrees F with the windows down because I had no heater , defroster , radio, back up camera , etc.. blamed on the module.

  24. The Cuautitlan plant that made the Fiesta just shut down to retool last month https://mexico-now.com/index.php/article/4921-ford-cuautitlan-to-cease-fiesta-production-in-august-retooling-for-electric-car-comes-next I'm assuming that the retool process is going to be one of the longer ones (took 5 months to retool MAP from the Focus to Ranger, but only took 30 days basically do the same thing with the FWD Explorer to the RWD Explorer in Chicago) So I'd assume that its going to not start production til next January or so-Plus it helps with UAW contract negotiations that are going on later this fall. My hope is that Ford shows the full sized Bronco (or at least a teaser) with the Baby Bronco, just to keep the idiots on the internet in check...

  27. Thanks for the info. I'm a bit of a Mustang purist but even excited about the Mach-E. The idea of Mustang's inspiration for an electric-powered 4-door crossover is a good one. I was not happy at first with the idea of running pony logo but starting to slowly accept it as part of the 'inspiration'. As for the 'Mustang' name on the sill plate, I will hold off thoughts until the actual reveal in November and hear what they say. If they can succeed with marketing and selling the Mach-E as part of Mustang's inspiration as part of the family while still calling it the Ford Mach-E and use the pony logo as in the image you posted, then I can see that working out okay. I'm now actually very excited about this and can say as of now with the info you just provided as well as what I already known for awhile now (aside from the 'Mustang' name on sillplate), I can say Ford may have a huge hit here! :) It actually makes sense to use the 'Bronco' lettering instead of 'Ford' as part of Bronco family of vehicles. I'm excited about this also! Oh, I wasn't even aware that the Baby Bronco was going to be revealed sooner than the Mach-E. I figured at Chicago Auto Show in February as the soonest meaning the Mach-E being the first new Ford to be revealed in November. I'm guessing Baby Bronco will have its own standalone reveal which makes sense and surely the execs will discuss at length in details regarding the Bronco family as well. What did you mean by 'launching'? As in reveal or go into production? Oh, now you got me excited about the new F-150 too! :) If you don't mind me asking, do you know when the next generation F-150 will be revealed and when it will go on sale? Just knowing there's more all-new and refreshed Fords and Lincolns coming with what I already known as from this forum and official Ford announcements as well as what you provided, makes me even more excited and giddy. hehe :)

  28. Yes I agree. Just look at how great the 2008 Mustang Bullitt was with the 5th generation styling. While the Mach 1 did look good in the 4th generation styling like you got in your avatar (your Mach 1??) but would really look good with 5th generation styling with the round headlights and all.

  29. Thanks for the info. Any more info on the baby bronco? The bronco logo is one of ford’s most legendary logos. I feel like this should be featured prominently just like the mustang logo is. I’d like to see a plain black grille with the bronco emblem either centered or offset to the side like the cobra emblems on the mustang. I think that would look pretty cool. I don’t need “ford” or “bronco” spelled out in the grille. I know exactly what it is by seeing the logo.

  30. Similar interior dimensions to new Ford escape since they are based on same platform. Exterior is more posing/boxier.

  32. The 5th generation Mustang would have made the best retro Mach 1 by far... they should have waited two years to usher in the 5th Gen with a limited run of Mach's instead of finishing out the 4th gen with it. That "cool" shaker hood "scoop" would have looked awesome on a 5th gen!!!

  33. Sorry to hear this. Very concerning for all of us who are waiting on our new Aviators. After the atrocious obvious quality issues on my factory order 2016 MKX I will be thoroughly inspecting my Aviator before allowing the dealership to change ownership. But alas I’m closing in on 12 weeks since order with very little to show for it!

  35. If the paint is that bad, it needs to be returned. I would never take a brand new dealer painted vehicle over factory paint. I just checked and Chicago did update their paint facility this spring when they converted the machinery. The two-wet process is a harder surface and less prone to scratches than a typical paint at a body shop. I know you have been waiting, but they would either replace it or I'd walk away. If they insist on repaint, have them include ceramic coat for free. Maybe they just want you to walk away so they can sell it to someone else. A small fish eye or similar blemish may get through, but needing a repaint, never heard of that on a high end vehicle line THE other thing, when the paint comes in? What kind of body shop is this? My friend has a large rebuild operation and has DuPont paint mixing stations. You only need the color code and about 20 minutes and you can have every paint out there. You open the correct base paint, put it in the machine, put in the code, a few squirts, take out the can, put it on the shaker for a minute, strain into the paint gun and shoot away.

  37. Ah but Ford did sell a BEV Ranger from 98 - 2002 around the same time as the GM EV1. So Ford was actually 20+ years ahead of the competition for a truck BEV. Ford has also been producing trucks that run on propane since the 1960s - well before alternative fuel passenger cars and crossovers. Hybrid trucks and BEV prototypes already exist so the innovation is complete. You're not going to win this one - just let it go.

  38. Are you insane? Name one innovation for cars and crossovers that aren't generic to all vehicles. On the truck side you have 1000 lb/ft turbo diesel engines, trick tailgates, hitch systems, tow/haul transmission features. Pro trailer backup assist from Ford. Invisible trailer from GM. RFID tool tracking. Innovative bed storage and cargo options. F series engines: 3.3L V6, 2.7LEB, 3.0L TDI, 3.5LEB, 5.0L V8, 6.2L V8, 6.7L TDI, 7.3L V8 Tacoma engines: 2.7L I4, 3.5L V6

  39. I can see how my post was misleading, I was referring to Ford building Ranger sales, not Ford sales in general. and yeah, this time of year at model run out there's all kinds of incentives but what I've come to realize is that the bigger the incentive, the more likely the product is either hard to shift, not exactly what buyers want, MY'19, just too many built or all of the above. Normally, it's $11K off a $50K truck package or something like that where the buyer ends paying more than they originally intended because of perceived value add.
